I'm glad to watch your videos. I can't build during the summer because of the heat and humidity. I have to paint in my garage and the weather destroys my paint jobs. Keep up the good work!
Very nice build. You do great work. I used to build my models like this when I was 12-15 years old. That was 45 years ago. I always tried to make every detail perfect otherwise I didn't see the point of building them. I used to also add micro-bulbs to light up all the body and dash lights. It would be easier to do that now with the tiny LEDs. I had collected about 60 cars but now only have 2 left. A black '58 Thunderbird and a green '55 Chevy Bel-air with gold/white interior. One day back in '76, I came home from school and discovered that my mom had given all my cars away to her friend's kids without even asking me. She literally just scooped them up and piled them on top of each other in a big cardboard box. You can imagine how I felt. I never built another model. I do still enjoy seeing models built by others.
Great decision on the body color. Everyone does black, red, blue, orange but the color you choose is different and looks awesome. Absolutely a terrific job and sometimes I also do silver on the sway bars and it may or may not be factory but the detail looks great. Great job as always brother. Everyone stay safe and healthy and remember to smile and have fun.
Thx once again for the 30 minutes of model zen! I work nights on a hotel, during the slow times, and there are many, I just love to veg out, watch you build, get some helpful hints and techniques, and just unwind from the pressures of the world. I LOVE the body color on this one- you don't see a lot of nice soft gold cars. You definately did this one justice! Revell never ceases to impress, and neither do you!! :)
Chris, I very rarely build a kit right out of the box. I am usually building a "kit bash" of a car with parts from different kits. But when I am building one of your video's is always playing. The music is very calming, soothing but even more so is your methods are an inspiration and your words of wisdom "build for you" etc give me confidence! Thank you for being the best in your class!
My best friend in HS had a 69 SS El Camino with the 396. It was actually bored out to a 403 for 69. I had a 67 Camaro RS and we'd take his car when we needed a working heater.haha
I'm not much of a Chevy guy, but I still enjoy watching your paint montages. I especially love how 95% of your builds are rattle can builds. I don't have a wide variety of nearby hobby outlets, so this channel has really expanded my horizons lol. Chris, if you do happen to see this comment, I apologize if you see multiple posts from me on your Facebook page. I had just hit send with my project pics when I got your auto reply in Messenger. I then tried to post to the page and thought my device was having technical difficulties lol. It is apparently obsolete and doesn't cooperate lol.
My friend that I mentioned in my Facebook post had built a 71 Hemi Cuda and a 70 442 that he painted in Testors Champagne Gold Metallic. My 2 favorite kits he built. Love that color.
Love this!! I have an old amt 69 that I've been acquiring aftermarket parts for. Now I may buy this Revell kit to finally build a replica of my Dads 69 SS!!
Wow, I saw the ad for your video multiple times before I dropped in and watched. I skipped it often 'cause I said, "aww, there's lots of vids about '69 Chevelles on RUclips"(had one, medium metallic blue, SS 396) THEN, I realized the pic was of a model!!! Wow, I REALLY thought it was a pix of REAL car. WELL DONE!!
@@hpiguy I almost always try to buy Fujimi and Tamiya models for the accuracy and detail, so, I'm enthused that Revell is using new pressings that show excellent detail and content. Gonna check out their muscle and pony cars again. Thanks, gonna watch all yer vids.
I'm REALLY intrigued by yer use of Rustoleum paints. Never seen that. I didn't think you could get that layer thin enough, figuring it would mask detail on the plastic piece.
This is a lot better than the kit I built in my teens of the one my dad had when I was a kid. Might have to build a new kit. His was a malibu with a hopped up 427 in front of a powerglide. Red 2 door with a black vinyl interior and roof. Grew up with his street racing the thing and it would drag the rear bumper on launch if you didn't know what you were doing.
HI, that was a nice treat. Always enjoy to see a nice new build. You never know what will be the next one. Nothing like the smell of a brand new kit when you first open up the box. I love that smell. What a nice build, great job. I really like the color combination you picked out. The interior looks great. I never used black primer to paint white. I think I will try it to see how it comes out on an interior. Thank you so much. I remember these cars when they were brand new. I had a 1969 340 Dodge Dart and I raced these SS 396 Chevelles. On the street and on the 1/4 mile drag strips. I took the engine out of my car and did it up big time. I turned low to mid 10's in the Quarter mile at 135 to 140 miles an hour at the end. I usually won a lot of the races. The weelies were a bit freekie. Scrapped the back bumper once. I was in C modified class. I got the power from the ballanced and blue printed work, the over bored cylinders, big race cam, 1080 cfm Holly carb, and the super high compression pistons. It had a 390 rear that helped a lot. Kept pulling more and more even at 7800 RPM. I could have gone up to 9000 RPM but never did. Looking for the next one, see you soon.
That looks fantastic, great color and I liked the options you chose for this kit. Too bad there was not a freebie in this kit like the engine and stand you found in the Nova. Oh well, still a good kit. Thanks for sharing it with us. Take care, be well and stay safe.
Great build! This kit looks a lot better than what I had when we were kids! Even has stabilizer bars, separate interior side panels a nicely detailed big block... Nice choice of rally and magnum 500' white lettered tires... Cool stuff!
I wish revell would make the 71 Chevelle. Love the round taillights in the chrome bumpers. Looks so much better than the square taillights on the early years
WOW! Now that is the way all kits should be made to assemble. The way the motor attaches is great. And other things like the way shocks and springs are....
Awesome looking kit and awesome build! A friend of mine's wife had a green one w\all black interior back in the day. I'm thinking about doing something similar when I get mine.
Great job! Nice to see a factory fresh car from you and the Champagne Gold is actually a nice shade for the Chevelle, and not one i'd have thought of. You've also inspired me to buy a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon I saw you review a while back, and give it my first attempt at weathering.
You are the master of details, congrats! Recently I finished a '68 version of the chevelle and it's pretty similar to the '69 version. As soon as I can I will get it too. Regards from Puerto Rico!
I just bought mine and I'm in awe over the detailing to which is actually no surprise coming from Revell; it's far better than the AMT '69 Chevelle SS that I was originally going to enhance with the interior chassis and engine from Revell's '72 Olds Cutlass Convertible but now... hmmm!
Nice model, beautiful rendition! I too love those wheels. I can imagine the conversation at the kitchen table. Mom: OK, I've given this a lot of thought, and you can get the '69 Chevelle SS. Dad: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Son, from upstairs: Groovy! Mom: But I pick the color... Dad is thinking, Chevelle SS, red, blue, black, how bad can it be...
The front sway bar and tie rods you painted silver are somewhat accurate. From stock, they were like a bare steel color. Nicely done build. I wouldn’t mind building up a silver SS with black stripes and interior.
DUDE! Best Build Ever Mate, with some real background You could BS Us all like Our Leaders have into thinking Dis Shheeee is Real? Awesome stuff Hpiguy, Unreal Man.
What brand brushes do you use I’m having a hard time finding some that don’t fan out when I paint. Thanks I’m just getting back into modeling your videos are a great inspiration
I'm sorry who in the heck disliked this vid? Idk why loved the music while painting the frame felt really relaxing.
LOL, haters gonna hate man. We'll keep having fun!
They must be miserable living in their parents basements.
Revell had a great idea on the under hood insulation decals.
I thought the same thing when I seen the decal sheets
Revelle has always been my favorite because of the detail they put in alot their models.. great build and review, I definitely want this kit.
Not to mention the instructions and the way they fall together
I'm glad to watch your videos. I can't build during the summer because of the heat and humidity. I have to paint in my garage and the weather destroys my paint jobs. Keep up the good work!

You really knocked this one out of the park!!!,i ordered a couple yesterday even though i told myself not to!!!!

Thanks for watching, I worked maintenance in a hotel in the mid 90s, it was a boring job with lots of downtime, I agree!
@@hpiguy I love my job, they just won't let me build models! LOL

Brings back memories......back in the day we had a neighbor with a silver CHEVELLE SS....way cool kit/build
The the wheels you picked out and that champagne gold for the body color. Fantastic build as always have a great weekend
A GORGEOUS build!!.. Impressively detailed Kit and Build!!.. Keep up the great work Bud!!
MAN!! What a FINE 69!! Love the musclecar builds!! YEAHHHH!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
My best friend in HS had a 69 SS El Camino with the 396. It was actually bored out to a 403 for 69. I had a 67 Camaro RS and we'd take his car when we needed a working heater.haha
396 was only for the ad campaign.

This is one of my favorites!
Excellent job, the color scheme is perfect! Looking forward to the Chevy truck!
My friend that I mentioned in my Facebook post had built a 71 Hemi Cuda and a 70 442 that he painted in Testors Champagne Gold Metallic. My 2 favorite kits he built. Love that color.

Again the detail painting so satisfying. Catch tons of tips from your videos. Thanks man👍
Chris,what a Beautiful built,you keep amazing me,this is absolutely gorgeous 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
I had a 72 Camaro, Placer Gold Metallic with a white interior, vinyl top and pin stripes. Lots of good memories in that car!
My favorite year. Another great job. Love the wheels too.
Nice work for sure. Some of the photos at the end looks like the real thing
CHEERS On the Champagne Chevrolet! It looks fantastic! You model building Feind! 😉

Nice build review. I like how you are extending the “rock video” section to include the detail painting (brush painting). Keep up the excellent work.

A wonderful build. Thank you for doing the step by step. It's helpful for us newbies. I actually just bought this car to build. This was helpful.

Thank you for showing some of your hand detail techniques. Should help me out moving forward. Great job, and thanks again.
You are so welcome!
Wow Chris that looks like a REAL car in those finals! Holy cow is that awesome. I love my Mopars but that Chevelle is gorgeous! Great work Chris!!
Very nice build! Always enjoy your subtle weatherings, washes, and little details.
