Nice video - honest analysis of how East India Company organized the take over of one of the richest countries in the world at the time.

Thank you for this three-part series with Q&A of how a European corporation could take over a richer but decaying monarchy, using their new financial tools and their better weaponry. I like that Dalrymple tries to stay clear of both modern political correctness and of nostalgia for the empire. I hope his book and other presentations got a larger reception than the three videos.

A remark to staying clear of modern political correctness or wokism, as this is probably more difficult for modern historians than not becoming an apologist for the past empire: Dalrymple doesn't assign special evil to the British colonizers but puts them on par with adventurers from Persia or other Muslim countries who wanted to make a fortune. India was mostly one monarchy that fell apart, as monarchies do after their run, and it was modern European weaponry and financial tools that gave the East India company the edge, not being especially evil.
