Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner? is one of my favorite all time episodes, top 3 for me... so many quick shot jokes like THAR, SHE BLOWS and "you're gonna kill him with a pastry? I've seen this man eat a bowl of change!" And "you love shake and bake, you used to put it in your coffee!" Lol And get well soon..
I think "The Simpsons started out on a wing and a prayer, but now the wing was on fire and the prayer had been answered... by Satan." Might be one of my favorite lines of the series, I don't know exactly why, but it is.
I think “Well well, look at the city slicker pulling up in his fancy German car!” Might be one of my favorite lines of the series, I don’t know exactly why, but it is.
Behind The Laughter is such a dead on parody of Behind The Music that if you told me it was written by the team at Behind The Music, I would believe it wholeheartedly.
"And Homer finds a new passion....dusting and polishing mixing boards" is the most perfect parody of the 3rd act of nearly every episode of Behind the Music
I came here to post this lmao. The episode deserves to be in the top three of season 11 imo. Its so fast paced and wacky by the time they leave town that I don't even care if the initial premise is weak. Like the writers were just having too much fun while the animators produced some of the craziest drawing of the season
So I was watching The Mansion Family last night on DVD. The episode ends with Homer sobbing because he wants to be rich. His cries continue over the credits and he keeps commenting that these people are rich with the exception of the credits of the cast. Homer comments "these people deserve way more money than they have." The celebrity guest for the episode: Brittany Spears.
Honestly I can’t get enough of “The Mansion Family.” It’s my second favourite of the season just after “Behind the Laughter” because it’s just so funny. Sure the pirate stuff is kinda stupid but it only takes up about three minutes. The rest of the episode is hilarious. It’s got one of those concepts that you just can’t mess up: Homer looks after a mansion. Because of it’s simple yet effective plot, it can fill the episode with some really great jokes like Mr Burns being indestructible and of course “There’s a lot of buzz around Lenny.”
It might honestly be my favorite! It’s genuinely one of my favorite episodes of the entire series, and part of that is because it’s one of the first episodes I’d ever seen of the show, and it was a completely perfect way to get into the show

After watching your simpsons history on Barney, 'days of wine and d'ohses' just makes me kind of sad. But you're right, the episode is quite good as a stand-alone
I think I feel the same way about this era of Simpsons the same way I do about a lot of Family Guy. There's some really funny stuff in there but it's surrounded by a lot of absolute nonsense and garbage
the Tomaco was a definite fav for me as well as behind the laughter and Barney becoming a pilot. Also I really love how campy flanders is this season, with his ridiculous fog walk and his skin tight suit just damn right hilarious stuff XD
The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Fuck and Suck".

Favorite joke from The Mansion Family, when the kids (and Homer) are running through the halls: Bart: "I'm Al Unser, Jr.!" Lisa: "I'm Princess Margaret!" Homer: "I'M DRUNK!"
I think Moe's new look in Pygmoelion actually does work quite well as establishing him as handsome. It is the same sort of look that they give the guest celebrities.
For me, the best episode of season 11 has always been the last tap dance in Springfield, I love it mostly for the one joke: the song the man plays at the piano store in the mall, “if you’re happy and you know it shop at stans” that joke has always made me laugh out loud, but there are a couple other things I like in that episode like Ralph’s line “teacher my shoes are making noise” and frinks sarcasm at the end “my god these shoes were in the off position”, overall season 11 didn’t have a lot of episodes I overly loved like I did in the golden years but that joke is what has always made that episode stand out to me
Thank you for reviewing all The Simpsons that exists. It was a huge effort but you've finally covered it all. Good job, well done. It's over . ... . .It's over . . .nothing left to review. We're done.
During this Era there are so many episodes where the episodes have strong openings and jokes put the plot completely collapses and the ends up being disappointing episode with cheap cop out endings and the storylines lose direction
Jim! I need you read this, its the perfect idea for a video. Because he is so well known on Springfield but noone ever mentions him in the fanbase, hell most people haven't even seen his name written down..... Drederick Tatum.
Solid list, except E-I-E-I-D'oh is my #2 pick for the year. It's the only episode where I feel the random wackiness of the season gels with the overall episode. I love the Poke of Zorro opening sequence, the call backs to the Simpson farm, and the fact that Homer still has to deal with the duelist at the end of the episode. And Sneed's is the best visual gag of the whole season. I'd switch it with Little Big Mom, which I agree, has the best Act 1 of the season. The post-ski lodge material just really drags it down. And I'm not a fan of the pointless gory moments of this era, so the leper colony stuff left me with a bad taste.
Last Tap Dance is my favorite underrated Simpsons episode. I love the weird Frink shoes and Homers eye surgery and the cat rubbing his eyes and the dance off. And yeah I’d tappa tappa that Vicki too…she is my Simpsons crush😻
I honestly love Guess Who’s Coming to Criticise Dinner. Had it on a vhs compilation of 4 episodes as a kid and watched it over and over. “Tough crowd, they’re booing Shakespeare”
Dang, I'm a big sucker for "The Mansion Family" episode. "The boat's going sideways!" It's probably my number one, with the food critic episode my #2 (propelled by the homer dummy working hard for the money), and then my rankings would probably be mostly the same.
I forgot how good a lot of episodes were in season 11. You've reminded me how good they were with this list, I'll include season 11 in the classic years from 2 - 11. Unfortunately I think 12 was the downfall... But I'll see what gems you remind me of next time.
I think 13’s the dropoff point more than twelve. Twelve has memorable episodes like Computer Wore Menace Shoes, HOMR, Sense of Snow, Praiseland, and Trilogy of error, and the most of other episodes still have many good quotes and are of an overall average to good on the scale. For thirteen I have to go to the wiki to find notable episodes and even then the only two are I am Furious (Yellow) and Frying Game with the rest of the episodes being forgettable or just kinda alright. 3-12 is my personal range of the “good” seasons, though there are still many good episodes later on.
Not gonna lie I seriously love this season, but I could absolutely understand if someone told me they hated it and it made them stop watching the show.
Here goes my top 10 of season 11 ! 10) Behind The Laughter 9) Days of Wine and D'Oh'ses 8) Treehouse of Horror X 7) Take My Wife, Sleaze 6) Alone Again Natura-Diddly 5) The Mansion Family 4) Last Tap Dance in Springfield 3) Pygmoelian 2) Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner 1) E-I-E-I D'oh I like that season, not as much as the previous ones (except s1) but I like it !
Gosh seeing you in my subscription feed always put a smile on my face, thank you so much for another super interesting and well done video, while i cannot forgive you for letting the tomaco episode out of the list but i do appreciate that we both agree on the number one haha, hope you have a very nice day!
Season 11 is full of whacky adventures! Last tap dance in Springfield is so good! Gotta love that fun Halloween special too. Quite interesting how Homer killed both Ned and Maude in the same season! Homer can be vicious this season! That’s the way I like to look at this season! It’s Homer at his most raw! Fatih off is really fun too!
Yeah my list is definitely different, but it's my own opinion. I'm not a big fan of this season, but it has some gems. (no explanations on all episodes) 1. "Brother's Little Helper" - Ranking #1 is easy because this is one of the only ones I'd put in high tier of the show (along with #2). Very funny episode and great story. Can remove the baseball thing though. 2. "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge" - I don't get why it gets so much hate tbh, I think it's one of the best of the season. I especially love the scene where Marge gets arrested because of the exchange with Chief Wiggum. 3. "Little Big Mom" - Definitely a classic when it comes to season 11, I think it's good at most though. There are some boring moments like the scenes with Marge in the hospital and the ending but I love the entire beginning and the stuff with Homer and Bart being lazy. 4. "Days of Wine and D'oh'ses" - Could've been good without the b plot and more humor, but at least the b plot related to the main at the end. 5. "Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder" - Great first half, boring second half; it's ok. 6. "Pygmoelian" 7. "The Mansion Family" 8. "Treehouse of Horror X" - Honestly disagree that the superhero segment was the best, the first one was much better and the third one was also better but more of a "meh" segment. 9. "Take My Wife, Sleaze" 10. "Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?" 11. "Alone Again, Natura-Diddly" 12. "Kill the Alligator and Run" 13. "Eight Misbehavin" 14. "Grift of the Magi" 15. "Last Tap Dance in Springfield" 16. "Beyond Blunderdome" - Definitely bad because it focuses too much on Mel Gibson but honestly had some decent moments so it's not the worst. 17. "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)" 18. "Bart to the Future" 19. "Missionary: Impossible" - An episode with the worst ending ever tbh. 20. "Saddlesore Galactica" - Too random for my taste, and it's boring. 21. "Faith Off" - Very boring and the story wasn't that great either. 22. "Behind the Laughter" - This one is honestly one of my least favorites in the whole show. I HATE when characters are "actors" on their own show and documentary episodes are abysmal to me (three story episodes like for example "Simpsons Bible Stories" are worse though). Not to mention there wasn't anything I enjoyed. Then again I'm the same guy who thinks "Last Exit to Springfield" is the worst of season 4 and that "Homer at the Bat" is overrated so my tastes for sure are much different than most of the community. To each their own I guess.
10. Brother's Little Helper 9. Bart to the Future 8. Eight Misbehavin' 7. Missionary: Impossible 6. E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt) 5. Take My Wife, Sleaze 4. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge 3. Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner? 2. Pygmoelian 1. Grift of the Magi Hon men: Faith Off, Kill the Alligator and Run
Had a bit of a cold when recording this one, so please pardon my extra nasally voice 😛

After watching your simpsons history on Barney, 'days of wine and d'ohses' just makes me kind of sad. But you're right, the episode is quite good as a stand-alone

None of them are Sneed or Chuck. They will show up in the final episode.
@@FucklesTheEnchilada maybe the old guy is Sneed’s dad?
I’m quite surprised that tomacco did not win you over
Your music choice for number 1 makes me nostalgic.
I think I feel the same way about this era of Simpsons the same way I do about a lot of Family Guy. There's some really funny stuff in there but it's surrounded by a lot of absolute nonsense and garbage
Good thinking, though imo the good still outweighed the bad imo, so it was still worth watching.
I was expecting the tractor to show up and I'm so glad you included it at the end lmao
the Tomaco was a definite fav for me as well as behind the laughter and Barney becoming a pilot. Also I really love how campy flanders is this season, with his ridiculous fog walk and his skin tight suit just damn right hilarious stuff XD
It’s always a pleasure to see the notification of one of your videos.
A sincere thank you for this, I often thought season 10 was the last decent season but it turns out I enjoyed some of season 11 as well.
I hate you.
Money can be exchanged for food and services!
I thought it would read Feeduck and Seeduck

I look forward to your uploads so mutch. Your one of the best youtubes in general, A lot of live goes into your vids. These types of channels are what make the me love new media. :)

Part of me hopes that the show would have stayed this level of bats*it longer. Early 2000's Simpsons was at least interesting.
I've always really liked that Dummy Homer joke.
Edit: And that Moe "put some shoes on" joke.
I do use Huckleberry Hound’s “I was so gay” more than is probably healthy.
Just switch "was" to "am" and yah got me!
Honestly it's one of the funniest (and most relatable) jokes in the entire series.

This season was the shot in the arm the series needed. Especially with the last few episodes of season 10
I don't think I've ever commented on your videos before, Jims, but I just want to say I love them so much. I look forward to them every time a new one is out because of just how much love you make them with.

Favorite joke from The Mansion Family, when the kids (and Homer) are running through the halls:
Bart: "I'm Al Unser, Jr.!"
Lisa: "I'm Princess Margaret!"
Homer: "I'M DRUNK!"
I think Moe's new look in Pygmoelion actually does work quite well as establishing him as handsome. It is the same sort of look that they give the guest celebrities.
10:00 *"Note, snapping fingers may not make episodes disappear."*
Brothers little helper is one of my favorite episodes of all time.
Behind the Laughter was the most Meta the Simpsons got.
Thank you for giving Little Vicki Valentine the respect she deserves.
For me, the best episode of season 11 has always been the last tap dance in Springfield, I love it mostly for the one joke: the song the man plays at the piano store in the mall, “if you’re happy and you know it shop at stans” that joke has always made me laugh out loud, but there are a couple other things I like in that episode like Ralph’s line “teacher my shoes are making noise” and frinks sarcasm at the end “my god these shoes were in the off position”, overall season 11 didn’t have a lot of episodes I overly loved like I did in the golden years but that joke is what has always made that episode stand out to me
I always liked Homer bowling a 300, that bowling ball spike through the floor gets me every time.
Mad Mad Marge is one of my favourite episodes. It’s always great to have a Marge episode and she’s so funny in this one.
My fave of season 11 is the mansion family. "we're gonna die and I never tasted cantaloupe!!"
Honeydew is the money melon :P

"'Last Tap Dance in Springfield' made it all the way to #2 because of 3 words:"

"Li'l Vicky Valentine."
Okay, that works, too.
Strongest 1st Act of Season 11 and it's NOT "Missionary: Impossible" ?
"It's a beautiful day to kick your ass!"
Thank you for reviewing all The Simpsons that exists. It was a huge effort but you've finally covered it all. Good job, well done. It's over . ... . .It's over . . .nothing left to review. We're done.
During this Era there are so many episodes where the episodes have strong openings and jokes put the plot completely collapses and the ends up being disappointing episode with cheap cop out endings and the storylines lose direction
therealjims will never know the simple pleasure of a monkey knife fight
Simpson showdown
Bart gets an F Vs Test before trying
I think the episodes need to be of similar quality in order for a showdown to make sense

Last Tap Dance is my favorite underrated Simpsons episode. I love the weird Frink shoes and Homers eye surgery and the cat rubbing his eyes and the dance off. And yeah I’d tappa tappa that Vicki too…she is my Simpsons crush😻
I also liked kill the alligator and run, it’s entertaining in a car wreck way. And the worst episode is the stupid jockey elves of course.
@@baldarmstrong6532 the jockey elves was a funny one, don't see what's wrong with it
"Dufman CAN'T breathe! OH NO!" might be my favorite Duffman line.

I honestly love Guess Who’s Coming to Criticise Dinner. Had it on a vhs compilation of 4 episodes as a kid and watched it over and over. “Tough crowd, they’re booing Shakespeare”
You HATE monkey knife fight!!???? And its call back later? Oh man you really missed the boat with that one.
Dang, I'm a big sucker for "The Mansion Family" episode. "The boat's going sideways!"
It's probably my number one, with the food critic episode my #2 (propelled by the homer dummy working hard for the money), and then my rankings would probably be mostly the same.
Behind the laughter is such an amazing episode because it stuck with the family, and is filled with nothing but well-layered jokes after jokes.
This is a groin grabbingly good video!
I think Grift of the Magi is one of the all-time best episodes. Behind the Laughter is amazing too.
Not gonna lie I seriously love this season, but I could absolutely understand if someone told me they hated it and it made them stop watching the show.
I really like it too
It was the last season where good episodes outweighed the bad. Now it’s mostly bad episodes with 1-2 good ones per season
@@johnb.8687 No, there were several more seasons were most episodes were good

I like that season, not as much as the previous ones (except s1) but I like it !
Season 1 is dated to all hell, but I find it charming.
That one brief look in to Homer's writhing sack of Funzos before he ties it cracks me up every time.
I really like this top 10 format, as it basically guarantees that I’ll see something positive
Haven’t watched much simpsons but watching these videos it boggles my mind how much stuff the Simpsons writers fit into each episode
Love your retrospectives and top 10's keep the Simpsons content coming brotha!
Love the nod to marching band! Director from KY here.
0/10 No mention of Sneed's Feed and Seed
I still hold that Behind The Laughter would've been the best possible final episode for the show.
Gosh seeing you in my subscription feed always put a smile on my face, thank you so much for another super interesting and well done video, while i cannot forgive you for letting the tomaco episode out of the list but i do appreciate that we both agree on the number one haha, hope you have a very nice day!
No arguments re: Behind the Laughter, but no love for Beyond Blunderdome? So many iconic moments in one episode!
It's hell being Mel.
That Silent Hill music hit hard. Nice!
I get so excited for your uploads!
Yeah my list is definitely different, but it's my own opinion. I'm not a big fan of this season, but it has some gems. (no explanations on all episodes)
6. "Pygmoelian"
7. "The Mansion Family"
8. "Treehouse of Horror X" - Honestly disagree that the superhero segment was the best, the first one was much better and the third one was also better but more of a "meh" segment.
9. "Take My Wife, Sleaze"
10. "Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?"
11. "Alone Again, Natura-Diddly"
12. "Kill the Alligator and Run"
13. "Eight Misbehavin"
14. "Grift of the Magi"
15. "Last Tap Dance in Springfield"
16. "Beyond Blunderdome" - Definitely bad because it focuses too much on Mel Gibson but honestly had some decent moments so it's not the worst.
17. "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)"
18. "Bart to the Future"
With opinions like that, I gotta ask what's your favourite season.
10. Brother's Little Helper
9. Bart to the Future
8. Eight Misbehavin'
7. Missionary: Impossible
6. E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)
5. Take My Wife, Sleaze
4. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge
3. Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?
2. Pygmoelian
1. Grift of the Magi
Hon men: Faith Off, Kill the Alligator and Run
My mom laughed and loved me describing the end with the two spaceships and the song of the one going into the sun.
