Someone mentioned the P10 just being some man cave showpiece. Damn right it is. The look on my non-musician (hell, musician) friends' faces when they enter the room and see this thing is almost worth it alone. Sure, the plugins coming out today are incredible, and for many the decision to buy a Prophet 5/10 would be an easy NO, but these are also boutique toys for big boys. Anyone who has the dough to get one in front of them absolutely understands why. It's absolutely beautiful, tactile, and the huge sound lights up a room. Also, I keep my mouth shut whenever my neighbors refuse to pick up their dog poop in my newly seeded yard, so one sunny day this past summer, I brought this monster out into the driveway, set up a chain (P10 > Roland Re-201 Space Echo > AMS RMX 16 Reverb > Roland JC-120 Amplifier) and I let her rip. The sound was glorious. And the guy across the street with the Marshall thought he was the only one who knew how to male some noise.

The Prophet 10 is just as Majestic as the Prophet 5.

Hello. I'm considering a purchase. Would you buy the Prophet 10 in 2024?

One of the best gear combo demos on the internet!! Finally, someone has stepped up. Your 1 video is victorious over millions others. Gorgeous tones! How do you like the Prophet 10, CXM, & Summit so far?

The demonstration is very interesting !👍
Can you tell me, please, how Chase Bliss CXM 1978 vs OTO BAM compare / what would you choose for synthesizers, and what would be the details that would convince you the most? Is the OTO BAM too dark, or the Chase Bliss CXM 1978 too light?
I want to buy a reverb unit, from the two units mentioned, and I don't know which one has the reverb effects, of better quality,, which one is more suitable for synthesizers and which offers more possibilities for modeling the reverb effect / without hearing the effect separately from the sound. !
I ask because certain reverb units are better suited for synthesizers, and others are better suited for vocals and acoustic instruments.
    Thank you !

A man can dream of having that gear. P5 or 6 as well as a summit sounds heavenly. CXM is just the icing

P10 is a nice man cave showpiece, but I could not justify keeping it. There's so many limitations and the sound really isn't that mind blowing. It's just very accessible and easy to fit into recordings and I suspect this is the allure for many. Just a good sounding polysynth for the traditional kinds of roles like pads, leads, bass, and brass.

what will you replace the P10 with?

Name some synths whose sound is "mind blowing" for comparative purposes. We'll wait.

What limitations? And: A good sounding polysynth that doesn't need maintenance cost like the originals do - what are you talking about? So, you don't need pads, leads, bass & brass anymore in 2022?
Sorry, I just don't get your point.

"the sound really isn't that mind blowing" - Ten years ago when I was first getting into synths, the Prophet sound didn't really arouse me the same way the Roland or Oberheim sound did. I passed on a once-in-a-lifetime deal on a dual manual Prophet-10 and ended up with an MKS-80. But now that I own all three (upgraded from MKS-80 to Jupiter-8 and added OB-8 and Prophet-5 rev. 4), I understand the Prophet's place in the polysynth pantheon.

Hi. I just got my CXM 1978. Is it okay to leave it on all the time? This thing has no power switch. :-( it would be a nuisance to keep unplugging/plugging back in whenever i finish playing the keyboard.

How does the Summit sound in comparison to the P10? I know that it's a completely different synth but I also have the impression that it's rather midrangy and doesn't by far sound as full and fat as the P10.

I’m tryna get something like a prophet 10 rev 4 but with some sub bass what synth competes with the prophet 10 rev? I want a 61 key hardware synth for g house beats italo disco trap music and sofaygo type beats. In need of a expensive hardware synth to cherish sorta

Prophet 6 has a sub oscillator. It's an amazing synth too.

I decided to get a Lexicon PCM91 instead - at half the price it's at least twice as nice sounding.

I'd wager that's accurate. Cxm is lovely but as with every reverb pedal, I couldn't justify keeping it because the summit's reverb works so damn well with anything you put through it.
