The white marble fireplace with the golden bow and quiver on it is a copy of the one in the Silver Boudoir of Marie Antoinette at the Chateau Fontainebleau.
I thought "the greenery" is one of the most interestingly playful aspects of the otherwise very staid but beautiful interiors. Personally, I would need more counterpoint and contrast throughout.
Louise You are charming- You have a real depth of character- Thank You for sharing Your love & understanding of the finer points of what is an absolute confection of excellence.
You hadn't even walked out of the foyer and I had to "like" this video! I guess getting older, I appreciate quality and refinement more? It would be months before I left the door! Speaking of quality and refinement, this lady is!
This one seems to not have suffered the indignity of multi apartment conversion or a preposterous modern "renovation". Truly a magnificent original. however, the blistering 54 million dollar cost and half million dollar annual taxes plus the outrage of 230 thousand in insurance makes this an insane proposition for even the garishly rich. perhaps a corrupt country might be interested as a cultural center or diplomatic residence? big tech wants full service apartments in the sky so the interest in a home of this magnitude on the ground is a disadvantage.
I think the furnishings have been put there by the real estate company. The house doesn't look as if anyone is living there. Investment asset? The Gilded Age was a time of massive display of wealth, not always guided by the finest taste. Inside this house you don't feel as if you're in an old apartment in the best part of Paris ...
Incredible, wish they still made residences that were beautiful, not just functional. This is the opposite of the current "Magnolia" look. Looked this up on Zillow. Interesting that there is No kitchen. "Proposed kitchen" on lower level.
Sadly, no one is going to buy a one bedroom gilded age townhouse. I’m guessing the house was last lived in by the original owners given the interior decor.
hey man not sure if you noticed a 4 minute tour of an 18k sq ft house, house is made up of 28 rooms, 7 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, 6 floors +2 underground staff floors + elevator
and to your other remark... so it was last lived in over 110 years ago? well the last owner was oleg cassini and he died in 2006, original owner was asiel and he died in 1920
The crime rate in NYC has dropped every year over the last 25 years. In 2024 the crime dropped 25% in the first six months. Don't let one stabblng on FOX News be your only evidence. BTW, if NYC is so "dangerous" why is it the headquarters of FOX and why did Rupert Murdoch recently spend over $50M on an apartment on 57th St?
IF I had the cash, I would buy this amazing house in a NY minute. I am a big fan of architecture from the 1800s to about 1910 especially. Hopefully whoever buys this house doesn't RUIN it by removing all of the amazing craftsmanship and original interiors...
“They don’t make them like that anymore “ is right! ❤
So true!
*The perfectly-poised agent to showcase this stately wonder.*
How adorable is Louise😄👏🏾😄
She's magnificent!
Absolutely spectacular property! Indeed one of a kind! Congratulations!
That House is Amazing!
Incredible property. Just stunning. And the perfect host to showcase it.
Agreed! Louise + this spectacular home make for the PERFECT pair.
Best episode I’ve seen on OpenHouse
Spectacular. Thanks for posting.
This townhouse on the upper east side looks like something from the Gilded Age the series stunning
Fabulous-fabulous fabulous ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Quite incredible. And that it has kept its original integrity is amazing. Thank you for sharing. cheers

I love everything except the greenery on the entrance wall.

Dare I say I love this?

A first class house and a first class tour. Thank you very much😊

Idiot
I'll take it , this is my kind of house. Absolutely beautiful.

You got that right.
The ONLY people buying these NYC properties are overseas money that will never set foot in them.
Phew, enough room for my art collection!
Just beautiful of this town home!😊😊❤
Gorgeous!
Great windows.
Dream house !
It is problem when you do not show kitchen or bath.
a spectacular property !!!!!! . is the greenery the length of the hall wood or stone ?
Location, location, location. Great mansion but the views outside it are...YUK !!!
I'll take two of these... please.
This looks like from the miniseries 'The Undoing'. It's class, and you'll need a lotta, lotta help.
WOW!
How much so I can start saving up?
The architecture is magnificent, but the furnishings suggest an attempt to create some kind of museum.

The interior decor is what sells it for me
@@londonderryholdingsdefinitely didn’t hear her say 7 bedrooms !
Those are not "garlands." The vesitibule is not "oval."
Louise, darling, the house is exquisite, but we are left with just one question: why are you wearing flats?
They're comfortable and elegant
When the end times come, obviously we're going to eat the rich first.
Nope. Too over the top. Just paint everything in gold and Trump would want to live there.
NYC is a dangerous overly expensive unsophisticated city .
RUclips is filled with commentators who have never stepped foot in New York. Oh, here's one now.

Thomas's idea of sophistication is probably a tRump bus with a golden toilet parked where the Whitehouse used to be.
i think it's a dump. when people with no originality or dreams get a ton of money, this is how they spend it. it's always the same

The home is most likely listed as a preserved site ... hence the court approval of purchase.
