Hey Craig, I'm now up to 21m (Drum Rack Section - Layering Snare with Clap). I've searched for a Clap, and am dragging it down to the Drum Rack Pad containing my Snare, and before letting go, I need to hold down the Command button on my HP Victus Laptop's Keyboard. However, my laptop doesn't have a Command button! I think it's because it's a Windows laptop, not an Apple laptop? What do I do instead?
@@pushpatterns I tried that but it didn't work! It just replaces the Snare with the Clap. I do notice that when holding down the Ctrl button on my keyboard, a mini plus symbol appears when I hover over the Drum Rack Pad containing my Snare. Is there another way to layer different instruments in the same Drum Rack Pad?
@@pushpatterns I'm not sure if I did what you said, but I did the following, which worked! Firstly, I dragged a New Clap into an empty Drum Rack Pad. Secondly, I held the "Alt" button on my Windows Keyboard, and dragged the Drum Rack Pad containing my New Clap onto the Drum Rack Pad containing my Snare, and it turned the Drum Rack Pad containing my Snare into an Instrument Rack with both the New Clap and Snare, whilst emptying the Drum Rack Pad that contained the New Clap!
Thanks so much for your video. Do you know if there is a way to actually see a "musical keyboard keys" on the computer screen to show what notes/keys were played for a song I made up? I saw a video that someone made demonstrating this software, and why they played their keyboard controller, there was an image on the screen of the actual keys lighting up that they were playing on there MIDI keyboard controller. I just wasn't sure if you had any thoughts on this or knew how I could do this? I wasn't sure if Ableton live light had this option. Thanks again for your great work.
Hi Craig, I've been following this video, and have reached the Drum Rack section. I've dragged the Drum Rack onto the track with the previously recorded MIDI clips from the Recording and editing MIDI notes section, and have loaded 3 pads with a Kick, Snare and Hihat. However, when I click the Play button, I can't hear any drum beat! I'm not sure where I went wrong! Could you please provide some assistance? Thank you in advance!
Sounds like the midi notes might be triggering empty pads, if you double click at the top of the track to open the rack you should see which PDS the notes are triggering. If they are triggering empty pads just stage the samples to what’s being triggered
@@pushpatterns Ah yes! My MIDI Notes weren't triggering the same pads as your MIDI Notes! I re-loaded the kick, hihat and snare into the pads that my MIDI Notes were triggering, and now I can hear the kick, hihat and snare play at the same time as the MIDI Notes would have been playing! Thank you very much for your prompt assistance Craig! Really appreciate it!
They are the same midi settings in Ableton live lite like in Ableton live ? Because i did the same settings but when i close and reopen Ableton the settings arent memorated but why...i dont know, so can you help me with this, please ?
@@pushpatterns I think he might be mentioning the Clip Windows setting where you can adjust random velocity. The newest version, I don't see that "Music Sign" tab, it's missing.
My mind is growing and this is a perfect tutorial for me, so thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
What an awesome course. Hope you get a lot more subscribers.
Much appreciated! I hope so too! 😅

Try contrl key or windows key instead of command 😊

Hi im just wondering can I take your udemy course with ableton lite version or standart is needed?
Unfortunately it is based around standard and suite, but this free course covers everything you need for Ableton live lite.
