My now late grandmother, bless her soul, had visitations all her life. She saw trolls in the forest, she saw spirits, she had dream preminitions. Everytime someone close to her was about to die she would get visitations or dream about it. One time she dreamt of a newspaper on the table that said "accident with motorbike" two days later, her friends boyfriend drove off the road on a motorbike into the trees and died instantly. All these tragic events followed her entire life. She got cancer, had to remove her nose, they cut into her like a piece of meat to try and restore it. She eventually got blind. Towards the end, her son died, at just 42 of a heartattack, my uncle. She never got a break. I believe she was probably of a bloodline of a völva. But the price for this was haunted with tragedy. My mother got into a lot of newage stuff. We all have dream preminitions.I have a lot of extrasensory perception in my life. Yes, I am also plagued by tragedy and I am chronically ill with several diseases. I think these things come as a necessity or as a side effect. Also, whenever some people have dealt us badly, they somehow always end up with their own personal disasters some time later. I am convinced these things are real.

Protection through action! Prayer, gratitude, offerings, allies during times of great turmoil, and something to anchor you. Sometimes blessings or gifts carry with them heavy burdens. Many responsibilities with knowledge. Unseen stress. I cannot tell you how to live your life, only share with you the wisdom that has come to me. Sleep is useful too. ❤

I was talking to Freya today, and before that, I was directed to a course on herbal medicine. After I got home, I was directed repeatedly to articles online about things like how to have shaman visions, and to a book on things similar to being a Völva, the oldest book in the world. I asked Freya if she wants me to become a Völva, I then came across a website all about Freya and her Völva knowledge.

I appreciate this. My father and his people are from Norway and Swedish Lapland (changed their name from Thorvaldsen to Day coming to America in the 1920s). I got my skills from the Swedish Laplander grandmother who died before I was born. Interesting to note that my mother's mother was a midwife in Appalachia. Skills from both sides. We are beginning to understand that mystical practices across cultures are reaching out to the same forces...but in the language and form that culture understands. The protective and powerful , guiding metaphysical forces have essentially the same meaning and function in mostly all religions.

If you’re familiar with runes and understand them then another great book is by Kari C. Tauring called Völva Stav Manual. Both women are Völvas and my guides through their books and conversations. The Völva Stav manual is best only if you can do runes it’s more for those wanting to become Völva and have studied runes otherwise it can be confusing.

Thank you for your very informative video. However, in one respect I want to challenge your information and observation, that of the male Seiðr practitioner. As you must be well aware, everything written down in regards to Germanic/Norse mythology and practices was done while xtianity had been the dominant and dominating belief system for a good couple of centuries. Additionally, you must also be aware that anything written, especially about belief systems other than Catholicism must have gone through a censor prior to publication and with approval from the ruling personages. What im trying to say is that information had to tow the party line, so to speak. Xtianity is extremely patriarchal, and doesn't like that being challenged. Also Seiðr practise had to be strongly curtailed, considering how it conflicted with the xtian teachings, so as an initial step any male practitioner had to be emasculated, made fool off, then it became a women's issue, and from there it was easy to persecute.
Another pointer that Seiðr wasn't a solely women's occupation, with the male practitioners made a laughingstock, is the fact written down by Snorri Sturluson that Óðinn, the Alfather himself was a practitioner. Yes, we know the story of Loki making sport of the fact, but yet again I point to the xtian church, especially as it is now well established that Loki turned up in the mythology rather late, at a time when xtianity already impacted on Scandinavian society, unlike the Jötnar as a group, who are part in the passing Seiðr practise to the humans. Anyway, I leave this here for you to contemplate. Thanks again.
PS edited for a spelling and grammar mistake.

so many likes for this but what do we really know?. someone is telling us what it was in those days but what do they really know?
What if we stop trying to know and look more into the honesty of not knowing and speak from this place, i wonder if we would get so many likes or thumbs up. Man is mad on knowing but truth is found in not knowing.

We actually know quite a lot, you can find all this information in the sagas and in the anglo saxon texts that was written down 1000 - 1200 years ago. This combined with the archaeologist finds gives us quite a good picture of the past. Of course there are some things we do not know, and that we speculate about today, which I always mention when it is something that is speculations.

I find it highly suspicious that any Viking would look down on a male sejd/seer as vikings were highly bound to fate. They believed that almost everything were bound to fate and followed nothing but their own and true path obviously within the limits of the world and tribe/society. A seer was literally the pillar between here and the spirit realm. It sounds pretty christian rewritten as we must assume that everything for certain parts were turned upside down, for the future to not understand or perhaps not want to believe in their true path of faith. Let’s start thinking a bit more rational and think a bit more out of the box. Christians in those days or any religion would want the future and present to think higher of their beliefs.

There's a few errors here. The first is that you forgot that witchcraft persecutions predate Christianity (there's a reference to them in the writings of Publius Tacitus) and the second is that Harald Bluetooth was the first Christian king of Norway. He would not have had much dealings with a Danish volva! Thirdly, white lead is a mineral pigment, and not made from plants. iIt would be more likely be used as a cosmetic rather than as a medicine, and women also used tincture of henbane or belladonna to dilate the pupils of their eyes and make them look big and sparkly. Perhaps volvae used them for this purpose too, but in most European cultures the only women who regularly used cosmetics were actresses and prostitutes!

      @Skjalden  6 лет назад +5

There has been found evidence that Harald Bluetooth could have had a Völva from excavations at the Viking fortresses in Denmark, I dont claim that he had a Völva, I say there has been speculations about it. The powder that has been found at the excavations has been identifyed as having been form a plant, a plant can also have white lead.

Let’s take them one by one, the usual schoolmasterly way you talk: “you forgot that witchcraft persecutions predate Christianity” “You forgot”???? So, did he? Perhaps you weren’t alert enough to understand this vid is about SCANDINAVIA during the VIKINGAGE. So, what do persecutions in pre-Christian ancient Rome has to do with persecutions in Scandinavia? The second thing you claim is an “error” is again YOUR error. You wrote that Harald Bluetooth was the first Christian king of Norway and would not have had much dealing with a Danish Vølve” LOL. Harald Bluetooth was a DANISH king, born and raised in DENMARK. He was NEVER king in Norway, thus he helped the Norwegian Hakon Jarl to secure the Norwegian kingship against attacks from the “Erik sons”. The Vølve mentioned in this vid was found at HIS fortress, Fyrkat in Denmark. So you think Scandinavians converted to Christianity from one day to the other? It took HUNDREDS of years and was in its EARLY start when Harald Bluetooth declared himself as Christian. That certainly don’t rule out that he had Vølves, most likely he had many. Declaring oneself as a Christian at that time would have been for political reasons. Everybody knows that an excuse for invading Scandinavia - which different emperors and always the papacy tried for centuries - was because the Scandinavians needed to be “saved” ie Christianised - and of course the real reason was to extract taxes to the emperor and the papacy. Harald Bluetooths son Svend Tveskæg actually went after the Christians, and arrived with the Great HEATHEN Army in England. Svend Tveskægs son was king in England from 1016 until his dead in 1035, and to be a king in England you had to be Christian. Political reasons again. The white lead might have been used as a cosmetic after it was mixed with something else, but it was also used in medicine. And in you view, obviously Scandinavians were whores as they used cosmetics. Even the men did.

Henbane and Belladona is two different plants. Henbane can't make the eyes big and sparkly, only dead. And yes, the mineral was normally used for cosmetic, in my presentation I sometime paint my face white, and the surrounding of the eyes black, looking like a death. The Völva is between worlds, is sometimes described as woken up from the death.

I don't like the word witch . I been called that all my life . Even my sister would say to me just use your witchy stuff . I wouldn't and let it play out . I didn't know the name until later in life . I would never call my self a witch . Roman word . I like your word better. I think growing up with out my real mum I had to learn a lot on my own .First I had to figure out why children were calling me a witch as a child . .I went to work . Yea I was a kid . I had no guidance. I had books .I went to a Roman school. The library was good . I guess most children didn't use it much . For there was records of the church in there . What they did .Also had library off of school . Cause yea I wanted to know what the heck was wrong .Why did I see thing s I was 5 when the first time I saw something . She looked like she was reading a book .she was bright . Every time I scream my step mom came in it would disappear. So that's the starting . By the time I was 11 I was a regular at the library. Studying different thing . I studied some on religion .I studied a lot on bugs, snakes , bats , spiders .learning what is poison and not .My teacher would tell me to go out side and play . I liked my alone time . I played 5 sports in one yr walked to school , played soccer in the cold .I figured I had enough energy .plus give me time to get my Moring homework done . Then I could study the fun stuff . Learning that you can eat a grasshopper was so cool .what a cotten mouth snake looked like . You can Fri up frogslegs .make tea with this plant ect . Our ansecestor are always guiding us . My best place is the wood . I didn't like being called a witch . It would make me sad . I like being alone . I learned my herbs . In my 20s .still didn't consider my self different. I wrote my own herb book for me . I have recipes from skin care to how to cure stpet. My son's still mad at me cause I made my own ear meds . It worked and he can hear .it was freash too which makes a big different. I took him to the doctor as needed .So my life has been a unveiling of what I am . Ruins came into my life almost 20 yrs ago you unveiled some thing too me I did not know but I have both .you also explain to me why I go into a trance state before I read to people. This will sound off . When I go in to read I reach out for the other persons life force . For I am reading for them .Some of my friends .That are from our race . Have been told to call me for a reading . Very strange . I don't advertise. I tease my girl friends for being called witches . That name does not fit . I will tell people all magic is a illusion. I worked at a magic place where people would buy tricks .If I heard pick a card one more time . Anyways ,met some great magicians even the amazing Randy .scary eyes . Guess what I have that I did not know was a tool they used . The staff . I have used one in the gym for yrs . Mastering in the way to use it as a weapon . Mine at home I have had since I was 12 . 52 now . I have my wand . I made it when I started making skincare . I used oak . I know every one says it should be poplur. No I wanted the strenght of the oak .. Reading ruins comes easly to me they talk . Usually I forget after I give the reading . The last one I gaveJag remembered . Don't remember the advice . Now it all makes sence . Takk God Freya dag Earth XP

It seems that you have been a Völva all your life, and you studied on your own to become better at the craft. I do not have so much knowledge about herbs and ancient medicine, something that I plan to look into at some point in the future. I think it is good if you know what you are doing, and that you use natural healing methods, manufactured pills are not always the right answer :)

🤔 So everytime I'm watching something go down in LOTR's and there's an attractive woman who knows how to balance nature and common sense she is a Volva. Volva's who have Asian bowls for Khundalini practices and mixing herbs. Volva who sing songs.
🤔 I want to meet a Volva. Female healers. You bet I do. Travel from place to place helping people in the world.
👩‍🦰👩👱‍♀️ 🤔"So....What do you do on your free time?!"
👩‍🦰Heal. 👩Sing. 👱‍♀️Remedies. 🤔 Like a bunch of female Jesus'. Women after my own heart.
👩‍🦰👩👱‍♀️ And you?! 🤔 Same. Heal, Sing, Remedies. And Tea. Lots of Tea. Some times I ring the trees. Other times I 😴sleep but I'm still awake. Sometimes I read for🐺🌾 days and then crash because I forget to eat. Other times I'm a father. Same as you being a mother.
👩‍🦰👩👱‍♀️ 📖 🧔Have you ever typed in Volva and someone who is eccentric doesn't know what you're talking about/ looking for and thinks you're being perverted. Well... that just happened. 🤨🤭😘🥰
👩‍🦰👩👱‍♀️What are you looking @? 🤭💭 Volva. And they say I'm immature & eccentric. Nope extraordinary and well rounded... nope not arrogant... I'm not in my 20's.... But I will leave that to a Volva's discernment.
🤔💭 Regular people suck. They think you're arrogant... and don't have a clue. 🥧 Pie? I love pie 🥧.
You know in a few centuries... your 👩‍🦰👩👱‍♀️ ancestor moved west ....🤔 Yep.
👩‍🦰"I like his beard".👩 "He needs to shave".👱‍♀️"No, he doesn't let him be". 🧔Explains the red, blonde, black and brown in my beard. Touch of gray. Kindred. Jaime Tone.
