Quran has 4 rights: read, understand, follow it, teach it. Most of us barely read without understanding. We as an Umah need to wake up for the next generation. Otherwise iman will deteriorate gradually and it may be too late. Please wake up and wake others. Islam is love and Allah is one and only.

It was like being struck by an arrow when he said that sahoon reffers to people who wait till the end of the salat time, and is just something secondary in their time table. Please, may Allah protect me, my parents, and my brothers and sisters in islam from becoming of those people.

I was starting to lose my Salah. Astaghfirullah. Thank you for uploading this. You know the power of the Qur’an when just learning one surah can make you get back up again and do better and fear the coming of the day of Judgement.

    NOTES:
second name of surah maon: surah tu deen
    🔸RELATION WITH THE PREVIOUS SURAH
In the previous surah, "surah quraish" Allah s.w.t talks about what quraish should be doing "fal ya budu rabba hazaal bait" enslave yourself to the master of this house.
And in this surah, Allah s.w.t talks about what they are doing.
There is contrast between what they should be doing and they are doing
    🔸 PROPHET S.A.W RECITING THIS
    SURAH
prophet s.a.w was an orphan and had no back up. In other words we could say that in a worldly sense (according to quraish) he was in no position of power. And he s.a.w is reciting this suarh in public against the people who are in a position of power. And they could do anything bcz they had power.
    🔸 NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT
In the previous surah Allah s.w.t reminded quraish the favours Allah s.w.t did to quraish (positive reinforcement), but thier behaviour did not change even after mentioning those favours. In phycology if positive reinforcement is not working then on the opposite side we have negative reinforcement, so in this surah Allah s.w.t is using "negative reinforcement". Telling quraish the reality of thier behaviour
🔸THIS SURAH AS TALKS TO ONE GROUP ONLY
by formally reading this surah we might get an idea that this surah is talking to two different groups as it starts with "did u see them who neglects the day of judgement?" (A very very rough translation) and after some ayyahs, it talks about the person who is lazy about his prayer. So we might think that they are two different groups of ppl.but this surah is actually talking to the same group throughout.
    🔸SURAH TEEN AND THIS SURAH
    Surah teen:
After giving very powerful arguments Allah s.w.t says:
"What excuse is left for them to lie against this relegion?" (Talking to the messanger as :fama yukazibuKA, the KA means Allah s.w.t is talking to the messanger) and its talking about humans in general
    Surah maon:
"Did u see the one who lie against this relegion?" (Talking to the messanger as: ara aitA, this TA refers to prophet s.a.w) this suarh now, points at quraish directly cz even after giving a warning in surah teen they still lied about relegion.
The warning goes from general to directly pointing at them
    🔻ARA AITA (first word)
"Alam tara" (did not you see?) used in previous surah is used when prophet s a w was in position of distress
"Araita" (did you see?) is used for showing the strength of prophet s.a.w
    ✓why question?
A teacher asks questions to involve his students,to wake them up, to get more of thier attention. First word ara aita" is a question used by Allah s.w.t. Allah s.w.r is teaching so he is getting the audience involved. We are being asked a thing "ara aita" did you see?
Se what? Later On in this ayyah is the answer
    🔻ALAZI الذي
    Alazi means "the one who"
In classical arabic there are two types of tafseer
::One is that this word is "khaas"
Meaning it is referring to a particular type of kaffir (eg. Maybe any jahal, abu lahab etc)
::One is that its not referring to a particular person but its referring to everyone who fits under the description mentioned in this surah.
When this surah was revealed, because it is not specified who is this surah talking to/about so each kaffir thought maybe this surah is directly pointing fingers at them. Its called guilty conscious, bcz they knew what they have done and the description fits perfectly to them some of the major kaffir thought it was about them. Its creating a problem for the kaffir and they feel exposed
    🔻YUKAZIB
. Did you see the one who LIES AGAINST this relegion?.
    ✓Difference between lying and denying
Lying against this relegion is different from denying the relegion. Denying this relegion means that u dont even find it truthful. But lying against this relegion means that you know its true but u still lie. Meaning, that you are ignoring the reality and what is coming out of your tongue is different from what is inside your heart. (So he knows this relegion is true but he still lies) Allah is making a commentary on the phycological state of the kaffir that Allah knows what is going on inside you , you are lying, its your ego. Its a very sharp word to be used here.
    ✓present tense of yukazibu
The first word "ara aita" is in the past "DID you see?" It means the messanger has already seen them/analyze them. But "yukazibu" (lying) is a present tense, means that those ppl are continuously lying. There is continuity in the word yukazzibu.
    🔻DEEN
In The word "al-deen" used in this ayyah, there are difference of opinions in its meaning.
    ✓FIRST opinion
That the word al-deen (the relegion) is talking about Islam.
    ✓SECOND opinion
That the word "deen" in arabic actually had a general meaning before islam. Just like some words have a general meaning but then they also have a particular meaning like the word "site" in english. If u go to a construction worker using this word would have a different purpose and if you go to a website developer, using this word would have a different purpose. (Site as in website). Just like that, before Islam the word "deen" was used generally. It mean loan, or pay back. There was an arab version of the proverb "what you reap so shall you sow" and the word "deen" was used cz its talking about payback. After islam this word became particular. (To relegion) and al-deen means relegion of Islam. Cz it talks about the after life which is a payback concept. You will be punished for the bad deeds and rewarded for the good ones. Arabs at that time could not digest this concept of an afterlife. So they made fun about it, lied about it. According to the second opinion, this word means after life (akhira) according to the context.
    🔴About this ayyah (1st ayyah)
Did you see the one who lies against the relegion/after life?
    Two opinions:
::The seeing is talking about actually seeing / the literal seeing
::The seeing is talking about tadabur. Like: did u analyze the ones who lie against this relegion/after-life?
    🔴 Commentary on first ayyah
The question aksed "did you see the one who lie against deen" is not just a question to rasool ullah (s.a.w) but ro everyone who has an intellect, who has an ability to see and analyze. Cz it is about an intellectual person who can analyze non-intellectuals (the ppl who deny to pay back for their deeds do anything in this world without having any worry for punishment, in a worldly sense, we call them losers, cz lets say, instead of trying for a new job after getting rejected by 3-4 jobs they deny to face reality and play videogames all day so we call ghem loosers in this world cz they have no sense of paying back for thier actions, when reality is too hard they ignore it.they dont realize that this is destroying thier future and they will have to pay back for it. Same is for akhira, these ppl deny reality)
Allah is establishing that denying resurrection is the essence of all forms of disbelief and rebellion.
🔴 Relation of FIRST AYYAH WITH SECOND AYYAH
In the first ayyah, Allah s.w.t is asking a question:"did u see the one who lies against having to pay back at the end/relegion/deen?"
And Allah s.w.t is answering to this question by himself in the second ayyah it is as if he is saying :let me tell you how to spot the ppl who lie against deen.
    🔴SECOND2nd AYYAH
    FAZALIK ALAZI YADU' YATEEM
    🔻FA (so,then) .
"So they push away the orphans"
    ::FA sababiya (cause and effect)
Because they deny deen they push away orphans.
It is that BECAUSE they deny akhira/the reality inside thier heart, thier hearts have become hard and so they push away the orphans, so anyone who pushes orphans away does not clearly believe in akhira/the concept of paying back. Cz the orphan is a child who lost his parents and they are helpless, no body seems to be behind thier back except Allah. Ppl treat them badly, steal thier property from them, leave them alone. The word "yadu' " means pushing someone away or kicking out so its not like the are neutral about orphans, they are actually rude and harsh to them.
    ::The "Fa" is "fa a'tfiya"
The one who deny deen AND push away orphans (its two side of the dame coin) the first crime is against Allah, the second crime is against humanity. This go hand in hand, if u do criminal behaviour against human beings it is then natural that you will do criminal behaviour against Allah.
✓there are mamy criminal behaviour but why is only this mentioned? Cz this is the worst. Allah cares sooo much about orphans
    🔻 Yadoo'u
    Pushing away
The word yadu is also used for pushing ppl into hell so there is a connection that if u push an orphan away (treat them badly), u will be pushed into hellfire
This word is also red as yad'u which means calling so if we read the ayyah with this perspective it becomes "the one who calls the orphan" classical scholars say that calling here means calling as a servant. Only calling him when u need anything and then ignoring thier needs.
✓ Allah has made the relation about criminal behaviour and akhira many times in Quran, like in surah mutaffifin, and so many times in the surahs of last juzz.
    🔴3 AYYAH
"he does not enjoin/encourage the feeding of the poor"
✓Previous ayyah talked about thier private/personal lives .this ayyah talks about Public life of the political leaders of quraish. This ayyah is a direct call to them
Public service is supposed to help the needy but these ppl helped not the needy but the one with the deepest pockets, cz they had thier own profit tha way. And on top of that corruption, they would not even talk about giving money to poor cz then ppl will ask them "what about you?" Ppl will have eyes on them and then they will have to spend money on poor. Ppl will raise questions that you treat that orphan in your house badly how come you are talking about giving money to poor?. So they dont spend on poor neither do they talk about spending on poor.
    . .

      🔻wa la yahuddu
      "And he does not encourage"
✓synonyms of this word in arabic
      :hadda
To motivate ppl to do something (used in this ayyah)
      :hassa
      :Harraba
Surah anfal: "encourage" (harraba word is used) ppl to fight. (Its telling prophet s.a.w to encourage ppl to fight and if u dont do it horrible consequences comes upon them
      )
Hadda means to rise up or move something forward like an agenda or encourage ppl to move forward on doing something good.
So he does not help the orphans or maskeen he does not even encourage giving and helping the poor
      🔻Miskeen
A person n who cant help themselves they NEED some other external help from someone to get out of a situation they are stuck in.
      "A helpless child"
The word "miskeen" is singular, not plural so Allah s.w.t is specifically pointing out that you dont encourage giving food (helping) that miskeen. He s.w.t is calling the kafir out on his behaviour to a particular miskeen (cz the singular word for miskeen is used, the plural of this word is:masakeen). Allah s.w.t is saying that he knows what u did to that miskeen today. He sees everything.
      🔻TA'AMIL MISKEEN
      Food of miskeen
The word here does not mean food for the helpless child/person. It says food OF miskeen, meaning these ppl are engaging in corruption and the charity that they do get for miskeen they are eating from it or they are taking all the property/money of the orphan and miskeen and not only not encouraging ppl to treat them well but also depriving them of thier food.
✓ Allah s.w.t did not use the word "it'am" which translates as "feeding" he used the word "ta'am" which means food. There is a difference. If u talk about the act of feeding that something Which is actually doing good, meaning that u r feeding someone from your food etc.but if u talk about the food that he does not give the miskeen food. That means it was the miskeen's food that he took away.
      🔻 COMMENTARY ON THIS AYYAH.
This behaviour is due to cheap desire for wealth. And bcz they dont believe in deen, they dont believe in akhira, they dont think that any law is going to be issued against them. But they are forgetting that its all getting recorded in the book of the two angels that are on our shoulders by the will of Allah, and they are writing everything
.this ayyah illustrates the cheapness of this man. His heart is very hard. Cz not only is he not give ng him charity, he is consuming the child's money
      🔴4 AYYAH
      "Fa wai lulil muslaleen"
The worst destruction is to fall upon those who pray
Allah s.w.t did not say here that destruction is for the one on that day who does not pray. (Day of judgment). He s.w.t said that there is destruction for him. Meaning in this world also as Allah s.w.t did not use the word "yaum" and said " wai luyamaizi lil musaleen" no. So destruction for the ppl who do bot pray is also in this world right now .
Allah s.w.t immediately switches between the ppl who do worst kinds of behaviour to this behaviour of not praying. Are these really two different ppl? Or is this the same grp of ppl Allah is talking about?
      Two different opinions about this.
      🔻musaleen
In classical arabic the word prayer is not only limited to muslim prayer. Its all kind of prayers
ALLAH S.W.T used this word "prayer" two times. In this ayyah and in the next. But he could have just combined these two ayyahs and use this word once but the benefit of this sequence is this:
When Allah said that destruction is to fall upon those who pray and ended the ayyah here, then everybody is forced to reflect upon it. Bcz we all pray. We did not hear or read the next ayyah so we think to ourseleves "is this talking about us?" So we all become alert. Cz Allah s.w.t did not mention if this is for kaffir or a munafiqin. So everyone becomes alert after hearing this ayyah. Wr have to reflect upon it.
This could also mean any kind of prayer not just of the muslims
✓relation of this ayyah with the previous.
In the previous ayyah we read about a person who forbids the favours and the rights of poor/needy/orphan. That was his criminal behaviour against the creation.in this ayyah we are reading about his other side. His criminal behaviour towards the creator. His prayers are hollow. We have read that prayer prevents you from evil things but this person or grp of ppl does not pray from heart. Thier prayers contain nothing except some cardiovascular exercise. Btw its not just about a person who pray 1 or 2 times and leave other prayers. It talking about "musaleen" those ppl who pray all the prayers.
✓switch from singular to plural singular(ALAZI)->(musaleen)plural
In the plural sentence it would be :ara aitalazeena yukazeeboona bideen. Fazalikalazeena Yadoo'uoonal yateem. Fa wai lulil musaleen
      But
Its not that way, the first two ayyahs are for singular but the 4 ayyah is using plural pronoun for tye people who pray. Why is that? Bcz these ppl pray not in private but in public. Bcz the wanna show off (it is mentioned in this surah).
      Fa wailulil musaleen.
      ⏩ Wail
Wail is the worst kind of destruction
🔻 Wail used in other surahs
      :In surah humaza,
wail is used for those who did crimes against humanity : wail lili kuli humazatil lumaza.
In this surah wail is used for the ppl who do crimes against Allah cz praying to other than Allah is a crime
      :In surah bani israel
Wail is to them who wrote with thier own hands saying its Allah's book
:Wail is also been given in surah mutafifeen. (Wail to those who cheats other ppl )
Among these "wail" is a wail given to musaleen. That's how heavy this crime is (as the same wording is used for many other worse sins as listed above)
▶ IS THE 4 AYYAH MAKKI OR MADNI?
      MADNI OPINION:
some scholars say that this next half part of surah was revealed in madina. so the next half is talkig abt a different grp of ppl
      MAKHI OPINION:
some scholars say that it is a makhi surah and talking to the same group of ppl. why is it makohi? bcz in QURAN ibrahim asked allah s.w.t or prayed to him for his children to establish the prayer and by children it means ismael a.s who was a makhi guy and in surah maryam we read that maryam a.s and her family (father mother etc) used to pray. pray where? makkah. so that means Allah s.w.t fulfilled the dua pf ibrahim a.s and gave him prayer that was taught to ismael a.s and then taught from generation to generation to maryam a.s"s family. so that measns thwere was some kind of concept of prayer in makkah but as time passed the prayer was corupted so in this ayyah Allah s.w.t is saying that bcz you corrupted the prayer you deserve the worst kind of destruction.
      🔴5 AYYAH
"for those who are careless about their prayer" OR " those who neglect the prayer"
the reason that they deserve the worst kind of destruction is in ayyah 5.
      ▶sahoon
      root letter: sahoo
      meaning: to neglect
neglect in a way that you knew it was prayer time but something else was in your mind and you gave it more importance than the prayer. your life is not organized or planned or schedules according to the prayers. if they r in a function it is easy for them to neglect the prayer bcz it is not a big deal for them. if u are taking a class or a course and salah times comes u give the4 class more importance even if the salah times runs out. that sahoo, to neglect. or forget about or being careless about. so Allah s.w.t is saying that the first reason for you to deserve the worst kind of destruction is bcz you dont give salah the importance you should give it. you neglect it. it is a secondary thing in your life.
🔺 What is the importance of salah
When Musa a.s met Allah s.w.t. like actually met. Allah s w.t told him to establish the prayer so he (musa a.s) may remember him.
When you meet someone soo important you remember every bit of the conversation you go and twll every one that you met them. But guess what? Allah s.w.t told musa a.s that remembering me in your memory like that is not enough. You have to establish the prayer to remember me
In surah baqarah Allah s.w.t called salah "imaan" itself. When kuffar teased muslims bcz thier kibla' changed they said that all your previous prayers are gone and wasted now. To whixh Allah s.w.r replied that Allah never waste someone's imaan. this imaan is reffering to prayer. So prayer is imaan itself
✓emaan lives in our heart and salah is also in your heart so these ppl they do pray but their Salah is not in thier heart. So the are careless. Caring behaviour comes from heart. But they have nothing in thier hearts so the are heedless and careless.
⏩COMMENT OF A SHAUKANI R.H ON THIS AYYAH
The people who belong to the group of "sahoona" (ppl who are neglectful to prayer)
🔸those who only pray sometimes and not other times
🔸You dont take care of the pre requisite of prayer.
🔸To be unmindful of the components of the prayer (like you are halfway down the ruku and you are already starting to lift up your head, you are in a hurry while praying)
🔸They pray like a bird picking pebbles (sajdah too fast) and they wait for the end of salah time
:Note that in surah mudassir prophet s.a.w was told to go outside and give da'wah to ppl but before this surah is surah muzamil and in that surah prophet s.a.w was told to pray in verse 2. So even for the prophet s a.w it was prayer first then da'wah second
:::If u wanna be from the mo'min then you should organize your day according to salah. Especially organize your social affairs according to salah. Allah s.w.t said that these ppl are mo'min"no doubt the prayer especially when it comes to the believer (momin) is that which it takes thier time"
once prophet s.a.w was asked "who are the ppl wwho belong to the grp of sahoon?"
he replied s.a.w: these are the ppl who delay the prayer from its time.

      alazina hum yuraoon
"these are the ppl who do it to show off"

    • @UnfunnyMayonaise
      @UnfunnyMayonaise Год назад +1

🔸 importance of alazeena and hum
This ayyah would be grammatically correct without "alazeena" and "hum" as: wa yuraon (and they show off)
But Allah s.w.t added alazeena and then added hum
It illustrates how angry Allah is. Cz when even they do pray these are the ppl who do it to show off
: The word hum has another lesson in it, it is used to represent "ikhtisas"
That means that when they do pray and thier prayer is a little better now the do it only to show off when ppl are around.
      🔻An Salatihim
      "In regards ro thier prayer"
Allah s w.t did not say "careless in ("fi") thier prayers" he said "careless in regards to thier prayers"
Cz if it was "in thier prayers" then all of us would be destroyed. Cz we sometimes lose concentration in prayer. We forget which raka' we were in etc.
      🔴 6 AYYAH
      "Alzeena hum yuraon"
      🔻Yura a
      🔸This word comes from mufa'la
Meaning: two parties struggling against each other
🔸 one is struggling for the other to be seen)
🔸 they are trying really hard to be seen when they are praying.
      DEFINITION OF THIS WORD
"to show yourself off (as someone righteous )in a way that is contrasting to what you actually are"
Allah s.w.t is saying that you show yourself off as someone so good but the reality I know is that you are nothing but filfth
      ⏩ Criticism to quraish
Thier leaders were custodians of the kaba and they were thought to be "spiritual elites" so they (the leaders) had to come to kaba and put on a show to pray. They were not doing it by heart just show off. And Allah s.w.t exposes them. Thats why there is an opinion that the whole surah is talking to the same group (as "prayer" (salah ) here is not specific to the muslim prayer)
      🔻PRAYER OF MANAFIQ AND BELIEVER
munafiq. "They think they are decieving Allah but he is decieving them Whenever they stand to pray they stand lazy and do it to sow off and they dint spend expect that they are disgusted by spending"
ADVICE TO BELIEVERS BY ULAMA IN REGARDS TO PRAYERS:
1: don't leave the nafil prayer bcz you are too afraid that it might be show off. But dont pray nafil prayer to show off either
(Fardh at masjid, nafil at home its no issue if u pray it in front of your children cz you are being a role model so its not show off)
      🔴LAST AYYAH
      wa yamnaoonal maon
      "And they forbid al-maon"
This ayyah is similar in concept to the 3 ayyah.
We see that in this surah it first talks about
      Lying against the heart
      Crimes against humanity
      Crimes against Allah
And now again, crimes against humanity/people
Allah s.w.t has made these things inseparable, these two things: crimes against humanity and Allah. It shows that both are important. Sometimes we say that its okay if I dont pray, I have a good character, i am kind etc . That is wrong. Sometimes we say that I pray and thats enough and then we don't give charity to poor ppl, we treat ppl badly. That wrong too. We have to be good to Allah and people at the same time. These two things are connected.
      🔻"Maon"
:It is considered zakat by many scholars and even some sahaba
It means that Allah is asking so little of our income (zakat) tgat it should be considered maon (small)
:A very small amount of thing, the loss of which would not pinch you
:It is a thing people share with each other like a pen or pencil or a bucket of water etc.
:It is the thing for which you just can't be cheap about. Like water. So the problem is that your heart is hard not that you need the thing that someone is asking from you. Like if our neighbors asks us for salt and we slam the door at thier face just bcz "why would I help this guy?" "I dont owe him anything" or "i Dont WANT to help him" so its like you are not helping them not out of necessity but out of ego, wants, etc . Previous surah Allah s.w.t mentioned that "we fed you"(quraish surah) and in here Allah s.w.t is saying that these ppl are cheap meaning that they are being cheap for what I gave them. This surah Allah s.w.t talked about cheap behaviours and this at the end is the worst.
      🔴 COMMENTARY ON THIS SURAH
Your deen (the belief in akhira, reward and belief)is proved by two things:
      :How you pray
:And how much you give (charity, any financial help etc)
Fix your prayers as best as u can and as soon as you can.
Give charity, especially in your family even if u hate any czn, aunt they deserve financial help so help them
