Good review Ben. It would be helpful you mentioned what company owns the whisky being reviewed. For example, Jura is owned by Global Alliance Group out of the Philippines. It is a real shame that so many great scotch whiskies are now owned by foreign companies.
I don't know why nobody else says this but with this Whisky i get a strong Apple taste. To me it seems to dominate.. I suppose all our taste buds are different!. Thanks for your reviews. Very much appreciated..
This whisky is fine as an entry level single malt. However, when I look at the price tag, I can't help but consider that your money can be better spent on many other similarly priced but superior bottles. Which ones? Highland Park 12yo, Glenmorangie 10yo Original, Glenfarclas 10yo, Tomintoul 10yo, Ancnoc 12yo, Old Pulteney 12yo, Glengoyne 10yo, to give a few examples.
@@JerseyRams96 I have read a lot of mixed reports on it. Personally, it is one of the cheaper ones that made me get into single malts, that I still enjoy and always have a bottle. Maybe my taste buds are nostalgic for those first enjoyable sips!
I feel this whisky is being attacked with bad reviews being owned by a Filipino company, it' tasted real good to me, comparing it with some blends and single malts, I'm.like the taste of a single malt, how can you go bad? II like the pure taste of malt, I believe they went through every quality process to achieve this...it doesn't taste like rubbing alcohol....
I like it. In fact it's one of my favourites. For me it's just enough peaty smokey taste but not overpowering and I love the little hint of citrus. I haven't tried it with water or ice, I think it's great straight. Would be very nice with some dark chocolate I think. One criticism is that the taste doesn't linger long at all but it's very easy to drink.
@@paulnonatuse.bautista1294 Actually I was wrong when I first tased it I thought peat but it's not, it's more an oaky kind of taste from the barrel. Quite unusual but I really like it.
@@jimmynich4791 OH! Thanks for that info. I still have to distinguish the difference between peat and that oaky taste. I always thought that when I tasted band-aid it was peat.
You’d think they would be able to take on the likes of Talisker and Highland Park and also Islay whisky as being so close, but finding Jura is very standard and not distinctive.
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Ray Jonas thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I am not happy with this trend to no age statement single malts. Clearly these are at the younger end of the range though the price point seems to suggest closer to the 10 or more years that I look for. The quality of these seems lower though this could be my mistrust of this practice. Having bought a bottle of this I will not be taking any more. Similarly sting with the Talisker Skye. These no age statement whiskies are whiskies for the less discerning amongst us.
Actually, I'm not "still" doing that It was the "first" time I have ever done that..and it was meant to make fun of those who do it, and I wanted to see if someone would actually waste their time responding. So yes, I'll take the same cookie you're having!
This guy worried me at first, but he's so engaging!
I had a bottle given to me for Christmas and although I’m not a big whiskey drinker I really enjoy this one .

Lynn R. A real shame indeed!
The destructive power of globalization.
Why is it a shame?

harrr53 I personally think Glenmorangie is woeful, though it’s all perspective.

Brilliant video as always

Journey is better than the 12 year old.
Ben, a chip off the block.
Did you get any waxyness or soapy flavours? I do with Jura: ruclips.net/video/pIW8P7y8YAo/видео.html
