Den Beweis dafür, dass an dem Sprichwort „Totgesagte leben länger“ was Wahres dran ist, hat Heino im vergangenen Jahr mehr als eindeutig geliefert. Plötzlich ging alles ganz schnell! Heino überrascht mit neuem Repertoire. Das Album „Mit freundlichen Grüßen“ verkauft sich mehr als 250.000 Mal. Heino stürmte mit knapp 75 Jahren die deutschen Albumcharts und wird zum Downloadkönig des Jahres gekürt.
Jetzt setzt Heino dem ganzen noch die Krone auf! So kommt es, dass er jetzt seine eigenen volkstümlichen Hits, die seine Fans bei nahezu jedem Konzert von ihm einfordern, covert. Doch einfach nur covern wäre langweilig. Mit verschiedenen Produzententeams aus der Rock und Metalszene hat er völlig neue Rockversionen aus seinen alten Schlagern gezaubert! I'm 49 and I've known about Heino all my life. He is THE German Volksmusik singer. His look (blond hair, black sunglasses) is iconic. Some years ago, to everybody's surprise, he suddenly started to do Rammstein covers and stuff like that.

Heino is one of the best-known interpreters of German hits and folk songs and has been in the business for almost 60 years. He has long been celebrated as a veteran and icon, and not without reason.

If you'd know what Heino normally did in the 60s and 70s, your jaws will probably fall down and you wouldn't believe your eyes and ears. HAHA ! Heino has been around since the 60's/70's making pop versions of German folk songs and whatnot. He has an eye condition that's required the dark glasses and that's his 'Till Hammer' trademark. And yes, he brought back this one for the younger crowd :D

The singer is Heino, not the band is called Heino. Heino is actually a pop singer. Blue, blue, blue blooms and the gentian is actually a hit song. Heino refined his own song by metaling the song
Heino knows how to entertain, especially since he was inspired by Rammstein when they performed together in Wacken back in 2013. Heino is active on stage for 60 (SIXTY!) years now, since 1961, even though his career went skyrocketing in 1965.
Edit: This song was originally called "Blau blüht der Enzian", maybe that's why couldn't find the original.
In a recent interview, Heino said that in his early years three things should never be missing from his dressing room. Cocaine, hookers and fresh strawberries. but fresh strawberries were always hard to come by

The lyrics don't matter and are completely unrelated to the video. The original song (this is a much later rock cover version) is a sappy love song about blue gentian flowers, red lips, kissing etc. in the Alps written as the theme song for a 1973 musical comedy film.
