  • Pace have been creating uniquely radical mountain bikes in the UK since the 1980s. Founder Adrian Carter and his daughter Sophie are still pushing the limits in the verts and versatility with the latest RC529 hardcore hardtail. Jump on board as I hit the steeps of Stainburn for a live ride review of the pros and cons of this steel framed raver.

    I’ve got a 529 and reckon it’s the best handling bike I’ve ever owned. Incredible bike, fun, tough and super capable. I’ve set mine up singlespeed and the sliding drop outs are brilliant. Really superb bike, can’t recommend one highly enough. Proper best of British, and best of Yorkshire 🤘

    Great video Guy. I bought a 529 3 years ago and then waited a year for it to arrive (bloody pandemic), but worth every minute of the wait. What a ride!!! I've recently bought a YT Izzo, which whilst being a really good bike, only goes to show how awesome the Pace hardtail is.

    I miss Pace suspension forks. Still have an rc40 fighter in my attic which I ran on an Ellsworth Moment back in 2005, but would love to see an update for 2025!

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  10 месяцев назад

      Unlikely I'm afraid as they sold the fork business to DT Swiss a while ago. They can still service all the old Pace models so you could get your RC40 Fighter flying again!

      @@GuyKesTV DT Swiss don't even use that design anymore! I'm sure they'll be able to buy the copyright back extremely cheap... 😂

    Looks epic Guy. Whats the sizing like? Large looks huge on paper sagged 490+ reach. Is 5'11 on a medium or large? Thanks

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  10 месяцев назад

      The steeper seat tube means it doesn’t feel too long. I’m 5’ 10” and the large was spot on

    At 5'10 I'm between sizes on the 529. M/L. From the geo it looks quite large for its sizing. Worth sizing down to a M?

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  4 месяца назад +1

      You're the same height as me and I liked the large but what bike are you riding now and what sort of riding are you wanting to do? That will help decide how different the 529 will feel and whether to size down or not 👍

    Alright mate how is this frame compared to the big dog . Is it a smoother ride or similar to big dog cheers

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  6 месяцев назад +1

      Ey up Tony, probably similarly smooth to the Big Dog, but with longer and slacker geometry. For max smoothness get a Hello Dave
