Beautiful shiai from both sides. The new rules really makes the flow of the match much much better. It's 1000x times better than the last final.
Some questioning with the main judge "performance", but please let's make this a lesson for all of us. I'm sure he is not feeling too well right now. Any of us could potentially be in this position in the future. We should all reflect and work harder to make this competition as fair as possible for all participants.
I still see a tendency for judges to give "easier" points to the Japanese players in some occasion. Hopefully next tournament it will be even better.

Japan is a little better but the referees are not judging consistently and soundly. There seems a slight bias towards Japan. The second score from Takenouchi seems to have hit Korean player’s shinai. Kim in the last match should have been give a point for that tsuki. That would have resulted in 2:2 and a final rematch between Kim and Ando should have resulted. Kim is quite young and the fact that he stood toe to toe against Ando of Japan itself is impressive!

    • @ponponta927
      @ponponta927 8 дней назад +6

28:57 The other videos show that the sound is solid and the stance is stable, so the judges are not mistaken in their judgment.
33:38 This tsuki is not an ippon because the sword tip is slightly off and the stance is off. You might want to look back at the tsuki that Hoshiko played in the Japan vs Hungary 🇭🇺 match

    • @ponponta927
      @ponponta927 8 дней назад +3

25:56 This was not a single strike as it completely hit the shinai. I agree that the referee was not competent, but I am not biased against Japan.

Regardless of the matches themselves, the broadcast / livestream for this WKC was awfully bad - even the worst, it made it completely unenjoyable. From wrong / no info and layouts for most of the part to terribly annoying commentators swalling the mic, lense cap still on the camera / no image during a match, info and teams not being updated etc. etc.
Mistakes on the first day are absolutely human, but with no improvement throughout the tournament, this was absolutely disgraceful.
For a WKC, this was beyond poor and unprofessional. Glad next WKC will be held in Japan and organised by ZNKR from a broadcasting perspective.

    1. Korean athletes often fall down, if this were on the battlefield, such a defeated posture would indicate that their training needs to be strengthened.
    2. The chief referee in a match often calls for an inappropriate stop. Other martial arts events often call for a stoppage, but there is no ruling, which will be considered as an incompetent referee and may even be suspended. In this team event, the chief referee keeps calling for a stop, does this indicate that the referee's self-confidence and technical level are being questioned by himself and the audience?
    3. If the technical level of the referee lacks self-confidence and is not proficient in implementing the rules, the fairness of the competition will be questioned.
