Former P&G employee here, and I must say, this company attracts individuals who dedicate their lives to their work. While there's a system outlined to prioritize employee well-being holistically on paper, in reality, it falls short. There's a pervasive culture of overachievement where around 90% of employees are hardcore workaholics, leaving little room for a life outside of the company. If you enjoy that lifestyle, be my guest
You are so brave to share this. I had a similar experience working at a unicorn. Stress was at an all time high, working culture was toxic, mental health was at all time low, and to add to my woes, work wasnt inspiring enough. Now i am sitting at home, jobless, but still find it worth it for my mental peace.
I quit after 6mths working for P&G 20 years back, much to their shock. After all the hoops you have to jump through just to get the job. Couldnt stand the institutionalised bullcrap and sales pressure hype that was just so unrealistic. I know it was supposed to be the epitomy of success joining this company. One of my colleagues who started with me actually started having major anxiety problems and heart palpitations. I was like nope not for me and got out of there. Unfortunately P&G is similar to many global companies who say they are all about their people, but lets be honest here....its all about the $$$$$. I am a strong believer in trust your instincts and judgement and good on you for getting out.
Wow, that work environment sounds so toxic and unsustainable! I definitely think your decision to leave was the right one and very valid. If I may, after leaving P&G, what was the next career move you made? Did you choose to move to a different company in a similar role or pivot into something else entirely?
@@superninja6481stayed in similar role but did try out another couple of corp global companies. One was great to begin with but then started to change so many of us left. 2 others I tried were again dreadful. I then realised that more med sized companies or if lucky, family owned companies were the best. I have since progressed now to having my own business and enjoying the independence.
Really enjoyed watching this. Absolutely adore how real you are and the humor you added to this. I say you're doing a great job and I am fully eager to see you keep going 😄
Love the 500 days narrative you added! Super creative and relatable. Working from home does get lonely and uninspiring in the long run. Wish there is a way to still keep it exciting. Anyways, keep up the good work 😍
Thank you very much. You're a true leader. I'm looking for the first internship in brand management. I am very happy that the algorithm suggested me this video. 'My health and my peace come before anything, I am not my job' I will use them as a mantra.
I turned down my full time offer after two internships there. It was a tough decision, but the work life balance was lacking. On top of the fact that they were not offering full remote positions despite the fact that meetings are still held on Teams and WebEx.
This video was so real! I felt identified with everything you said. It helped me realize that I had to quit to my Senior Brand Manager role at P&G for my mental health. Thank you! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Hi, just want to say thanks to you for making this video. Lately, I always blaming myself for the decision that I made. But then this video make me realize that’s the best way for my mental health.
Nailed it! really puts things into perspective. Also loving the 500 days of Summer influence! I needed that: don’t take one job too seriously. 😂 and the question about the dream job. That was legit me. They asked me about my dream job and I just stared at them… 😂😂
Great job on the video, and your reflections & insights are really valuable as well. I am not in brand management (or in my 20s either), but I can definitely see this resonating with people from many walks of life. Thanks so much for sharing.
Really inspiring… I was also working in a extremely high pressure environment with long working hours in the past 3 years, and knows exactly how it feels not able to enjoy a personal life apart from the job:( Finally I also quit. it was though, still quite sad for me to think of the contributions and sacrifices I made during the period..
This is so well articulated, your journey how it started and how it led to start of another one! Your videos are intriguing, on point and insightful! Thank you for sharing all that you do!
i'm still in Grooming and I feel like dying each day I'm working. Endless DDS, Initaitive calls, adhoc call, night calls. Daily reviews, weekly reviews. KPIs, approval, follow ups, and so much more additional scopes that are added each quarter.
Hi Rebeea , I loved your video and how you explained, and as you mentioned your mental health and hobbies are very important! Wish you best of luck on your channel and other creative projects 😀
I briefly work in a PHC plant. Terrible management that were completely unwilling to assist in training on skill blocks. They gave a good presentation for hiring process but when you hit the floor it was like a snake pit
I worked in a P&G factory. This is very surreal to hear. Work life balance? Some parts of the factory are more difficult than others but I worked almost every weekend. Would be nice to know the factory workers are getting paid what they are worth. But I guess that's subjective.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience! I really can relate to this video as I am now are struggling with my mental health and work-life balance. I hope what ever it is you're doing rn makes you happy!
I'm not sure which region you were working but what's so crazy is that the working situation you have described post COVID is sadly like BAU for P&G Japan.
You mentioned in the other video that as a brand manager, you create a report after your meeting regarding an upcoming product, after they introduced it to you. Can you show us how you do it? A template maybe? How to create a great report? Also.. how to create great marketing plans?
Sadly this kind of work culture has messed up the personal lives of many people. You have no time for your spouse, parents, or children. Hopefully, this thing change. It is not always about money. I have also quit my job because of this.
Hi Sanskriti! FMCG's tend to be much bigger with a lot more hierarchy and thus a lot more room for career development and learning, that's why I chose this over Luxury. :)
good afternoon noon mam i registered amazon seller centeral account like USA canda market i want sale P&g products please help for providing brand authoriztion later
I have never even heard of Procter & Gamble, I don't understand how it is famous? And Cola cola just looking it up on RUclips their is a lot of controversies with that company. I would rather work for telsa maybe.

LOL 😅
Awesome reflection! Thanks for sharing your story and being so mindful. Also, you have an amazing voice, it transmits a lot of peace and confidence :)

So relatable! Thanks for sharing Rabeea - some of the thoughts are what I've dealt with on a daily basis during Covid. All the best and keep going👌🏽
i'm still in Grooming and I feel like dying each day I'm working. Endless DDS, Initaitive calls, adhoc call, night calls. Daily reviews, weekly reviews. KPIs, approval, follow ups, and so much more additional scopes that are added each quarter.
This video thoroughly explains your passion for content creation.
Quite elaborately explained and thoughtfully presented.
Because of this video, the outcome is I am subscribing to your channel ☺. Life is too short and we should live on our own terms.

It would be great if you made some teaching videos for us learn the necessary skills for a brand manager role
You mentioned in the other video that as a brand manager, you create a report after your meeting regarding an upcoming product, after they introduced it to you. Can you show us how you do it? A template maybe? How to create a great report? Also.. how to create great marketing plans?

Thanks for the video! Are you serious when you said that at your dream job there would be a female CEO?
Why is there no female CEO in P&G?
In which country?
