Girl, if I had the funds and the freedom, I would be doing the exact same thing! Honestly, make the most of your life. Do what feels right. This may be a season in your life that you just really need right now. Live it!
My two cents: put the glass table in storage somewhere for now, buy one or two small scatter tables and move one of the wire chairs to another room, the bedroom for example. That will free up the space because I do think the sofa looks lovely there. It goes nicely with the bookshelves and creates a very relaxing place to read and rest.
@@josepha133 that's possible too of course! Although I find filling a space with items 'in two's' always a bit predictable. Alternatively maybe one of the wire chairs can find a home in the kitchen, near all the natural light, makes for a lovely quiet place to sit as well.
My thoughts exactly. Only 1 chair. Move the table to another room. Move the dark wood kabinet. Keep the table in the other room and keep it to a minimal. Oh and I would keep the dining room table and not size down. ;) Also to consider; the flow from the kitchen to the diner table (or wherever you eat) . Is it through the living room and would that be an obstacle in the long term? But then again; the setup now doesn’t have to be forever ;)
Also a low pile rug might really help to ground the living room so your eye is not floating between rooms. Seems like your living room is feeling more like a hallway than a room
"If you can, then why not?" It think it sums it up very well. I'm proud of you for doing what feels right for YOU, right now. And thank you for letting us come with you on that journey!
Hi Lizzie, I'm 55 and just moved into my own flat after separating from my husband and still living in the family home for over 10 years. This space is all mine and I intend to move the furniture around as much as I like and do exactly as I please with both my money and my decisions from now on! I would move your furniture back and start working in your gorgeous kitchen space instead. It looks like it gets plenty of light and is within easy reach of the coffee machine and you can throw the doors open when the weather allows. I have both a desktop Mac and laptop for work and intend to work on my dining table during the week and then move the desktop into the bedroom and use to watch RUclips, films etc at the weekends or if I have people over to eat during the week. Hope you enjoy your time in London! Fi x
Lizzy, I've been watching you "grow up" on RUclips for the past 6-7 years...and I have to say I feel very proud of you right now for living your life the way you want. You *are* incredibly fortunate to be able to split your time between two places you love and that Luigi has a grandmommy he loves very much to stay with while you're here in NY. But we *never* know what's coming next, so you're wise to do this now while the opportunity is there for you. You continue to be an inspiration on so many levels. I'm currently planning a BIG MOVE out of the US next year and it's helpful to see someone else doing something similar. SO MANY people question and even criticize my choice, but I know in my heart I'm doing what's right for me, so who cares what they think. And even if it turns out to be a mistake...it will be MY mistake! We only get one shot at living our lives; I try to not give time/energy to people who don't support me and my choices. I know you know we all feel like we know you, and that you're our friend, but you don't really owe anyone an explanation for why you make the life choices you do. Stay Cool xoxo
When I was 29 I went backpacking on a one way ticket around the world for 12 months. I had savings from a good job so travelled comfortably. Best thing I did at the time.
This was so nice! I normally don't comment but find myself in the same position going 30 and thought you captured those feelings quite beautifully. I always saw people commenting why you do the things you do and I think the thing is that through your videos you tell a story and when something unexpected happens the story doesn't add up, like a cut in a movie where a scene is missing. So I think this video was perfect to weave it all together so that one can follow your videos/stories more easily. But I still understand the struggle with privacy, I always thought that the life of people working in your business is quite hard to handle. Anyways loved the honest video and seeing the house again. I agree the previous layout seemed a bit more fitting. If I could choose any home by any influencer to live in it would be yours. So cozy unique and timeless! Greetings from Germany x
I remember when you bought the coffee table and how much you loved it. It’s beautiful! However, I think it’s one of those things where you have to choose between the lovely feeling of a cozy reading room/sunny office or your love for the coffee table and chairs. Which has more power to make you happy: living in the way that you want to or looking at a thing of beauty in your space. Sometimes when we make changes, our old things just don’t fit in our new lives. Maybe keep it at your mom’s for a while until you’re in your next stage of life and see if it fits then. I have a feeling it will.
Hey Lizzy! Just regarding your space, you could try downsizing your wooden table into a smaller table that would fit next to the window in your living space for a bright place to work and move the current living room furniture back into the living room, but keep the couch in the reading room with a smaller coffee table for a cosy reading nook :) long time fan!
30 was a massive milestone for me. It felt like I needed to have got my sh*t together & be a grown up but I hadn't for all sorts of reasons. Take your time. You a good person finding their way in the world. Share what you wish to. I personally appreciate the authenticity and honesty of your content. Enjoy the journey.
What you said about knowing more about what you wanted from your life at 24 than you do now really resonated with me - but I truly think a huge reason for feeling this way is that we know more about the world now
also at that age i feel like the expectations are laid out and perhaps we don't dream of such freedom, maybe the 20 year old's today do but back when we were in our 20's the world didn't feel like it was a few clicks away and how to do so many different things wasn't as obvious or clear as it is today. though i have to say i am glad to not be in my 20's during these times ... happy in my early 30's :)
I’m 43 and I think what you’re going through right now (not ‘going through’, but I hope you know what I mean) is something that most people go through at your age. I would even go as far as saying a lot of people who are already married with kids at your age experience a feeling of ‘wait, I haven’t done anything amazing yet and I don’t want to tie myself down yet! Hell, at 28/29 I packed my kids and husband up and moved from Canada to England! It’s amazing how you’re living your life right now!
I live in East London rn and I'm moving to NYC for 5 years of school this summer and watching your content which includes both of those places has been so comforting to me!!
I'm 46, I have four children, and I. Don't. Go. Anywhere. I'm incredibly blessed, but I wish I could see other parts of the world. Enjoy the freedom of your life. Some of us are nomads, and just like to roam. ☺️
Interior Designer here! If you were my client, I'd advise switching the rooms back, removing/walling in the reading room/hallway door, and building a cozy banquette along that wall! Regarding the wall that divides the rooms, I'd source a cool vintage window and install it there (structure permitting), to let in more light, or perhaps open that wall further than the existing doorway/replace with pony wall that encloses the banquette. It's so fun seeing you at home in London again!
Thank you for this video, it was really relatable, and made me happy! I would put the coffee table in storage. I agree with you that having the bookshelf with the couch is the right move!
I love your current life Lizzy. I think it's incredible to be able to split your time between 2 major (equally amazing imo) cities, and come home to your own home in London. And you're right, you will never be as truly free as you are now so enjoy it. I'm 35, single, no kids, and the only responsibility I have is for myself. I know it won't always be like this so I'm enjoying it too. Life is to be lived. I can sort of relate to the splitting time part as I'm from NZ but live in London. I feel very tied to both places and want to eventually get to a stage where I'm skipping whole winters here to work from NZ summer, which to me is my dream life. You can have both if you want until you decide you want to settle in one place for good.
Hello Lizzy! So nice to hear from you and see a video with both cities in it ! Regarding the first part of your video: it's no ones business how, why and on what you spend your money on and how you decide to live your life. I think people the last couple of years have become obsessed, judgemental and very vocal regarding other peoples choices. Please don't let that affect you! The majority of people who visit your channel loves you and are happy to see that you are enjoying life and progressing! Sending you positive energy
so happy for you, that you are living your life exactly how you want to live it. thanks for sharing your thoughts and bits of life with us, it‘s always such a joy to follow along. loving your content, always. no matter how much or less you choose to share ❤️
Thank you for sharing this! I'm in my early 30s and can totally relate. I recently moved to Paris and am sometimes struggling to explain it to people since I also had a great life in a great place before and no particular reason to move here. It's a huge privilege having that freedom with some struggles along the way (always missing one place, fomo etc.) ... Hope you enjoy it to the max!
This was such a lovely vlog. I completely understand not wanting to share a lot online, but by sharing the reasons why you are travelling and living between the two at the moment makes me feel more connected to you! I'm only 20 but if I had the money I would be doing the exact same thing in my mid to late 20s. Nice to see you are well Lizzy :)
It must be a tricky balance how much context and explanation you want to share to your viewers. I think it’s great that you can explore living in different parts of the world while you can. ❤
Loved this vlog :) For the room situation, I think it would make sense to make it a living room/reading room combo and move the dining table into the kitchen. Reading room can have the yellow couch and a smaller coffee table and the living room can have your current furniture plus a new couch and a desk to work at. Excited to see what you do with the space!
Thanks for sharing, feels like it has been ages ; ). I love the part of Not Knowing, it is honest and very relatable. Would love to see more updates on the house in London, full tour, plans etc., new books updates are also welcome :), oh and sofa looks perfect in the new spot, you just might need to sacrifice the coffee table😬
Definitely switch the rooms back. Dining table with the bookshelves is also an inspiring work view. Keep your beloved coffee table in the front room. Otherwise it’s just all too forced. Live your life passionately and unapologetically. The tale of two cities is living life just that way.
I'd change the dining table in the front room and have two sofa-rooms. There's a big table in the extension for parties, and then you can keep the lovely yellow sofa w the books, then make another cosy area w telly and more seating by the bay, then perhaps like a smaller bureau in a corner
Living in other cities was the best thing i ever decided to do, it made me realise that London wasn't for me (i was born and raised there) this is the only time in your life that maybe you can be selfish and think only of yourself, i totally agree that you dont need to know what you want to do or be, you'll also realise in your 30's you start changing so much inside and the idea of how you want to live your life and not how society expects us to changes so much. Ps i LOVE the way the sofa looks in the middle room, perhaps sacrifice the sofa leg space for extra walking space? lol i think i'd have to change the coffee table even if i loved
Love the new set up!! The front room with the bay window is gorgeous to work in but I'd actually get a smaller table and put it in the bay window.....you already have a large table in the kitchen, do you need two? Then you would be able to put the coffee table and two wire chairs in that room as well! The middle room is the reading library, you could just get a little side table for beside the sofa and maybe a lovely rug to cosy it up even more, also a huge piece of artwork above the sofa. Then the bay window room is the working, conversation seating room. Adore the house btw.
I have to say I loved the lockdown, didn't have to work, got payed, No forced socializing. But what I found more fascinating was like the world was standing still, like a reset, in hibernation. Of course it can't be a forever state, but I personally enjoyed it. I don't know what that says about me and the life I want for myself, probably a more peaceful and out of the city one.
Hey Lizzie, I think whilst you have the bloody opportunity of living the way you do, DO!! you are young and free. I am 39, approaching 40 and I still have no idea what I'm doing with my life. Im to'ing and fro'ing between the Uk and Dubai... I have to get a grip on things asap but you have plenty of time! Enjoy. I'm also fortunate to have my mum look after my fur babies too! Love the couch in the reading nook. Defo get a more narrow coffee table!
Regarding your reading room challenge, I would recommend selling and replacing the coffee table to something smaller. Could be a round ottoman and then only use one of your two black chairs. You could move the other chair upstairs. I think this would open up the space nicely.
Re the room layout: perhaps put the wire chairs and coffee table in front of the bay window to create a small sitting area and get a smaller work table. For the reading room you could add a rug and a side table
The table in the front room would look nice facing the window and pushed up against the left side but only with the narrow part of the table This would allow the 2 steel chairs to sit in the front room Which would allow more space in the reading room
I think swapping the rooms is smart! I would do a smaller coffee table, and split up the two black chairs so you only have one chair in the living room. Maybe put the other one in the spare room with a lamp as a little reading nook for guests. Can you put the glass coffee table in the basement for storage? You could also do a wall mounted lamp over the sofa in the corner you like to sit and read. Maybe a Le Klint Sax - they are so beautiful and practical.
The only way to solve the living room switch dilemma is to change the coffee table. Have one to the side of the sofa (where your big drawers are) and then move the two chairs around to the right slightly so ones like in the corner of the book shelving if that makes sense. Then you’d have a path through and it would flow better
What a thoughtful wise description and explanation - we are lucky to have you LIzzy! It's good you are setting boundaries and sharing what you feel comfortable sharing. That way we get to keep you longer! You have to make it work for you. You are a great example and role model for all, especially at your (to me) young age. It's great that you are going for what you want and following your instinct. I love the advice to take risks and get outside comfort zone. Love the update on little Luigi and the house and all. I always comment too late for you to see it but I caught this one earlier so I hope you see it! Longtime big huge fan in LA xoxo
Thank you for sharing Lizzy, you are so eloquent and the way to speak about feelings it is so beautiful and spot on. I am 27 and bought a house with my husband but I also want to move away for a year or two, before properly settling. I think everyone in their 30s or pushing 30 has a bit of this enlightenment
If you are working with the furniture you have, I would go back to the way those rooms were first arranged. Otherwise switching out the tables would make those two arrangements function better as they are currently arranged.
I’m probably the oldest follower. I guess I’ve always wondered how you afford it all. Buying a house and getting it done up, renting and spending time in NYC. Flights cost so much. So I guess I’ve always wondered how you fund it all. From vlogging?
Your hair is looking fantastic in this vlog. Really beautiful tone and style :-) 👍👌 Relatable and thought provoking vlog. It can be a truely beautiful thing to step outside of your comfort zone. Thanks for the reminder.
Is it the kind of coffee table you could find and buy again in the future? Then I would sell it and get one that fits the house. If not, you could also put it in storage.
Do your thing!! I wish I could split my time between two wonderful exciting cities, y'know. We don't have to know the reasoning behind everything, obviously we can wonder but that doesn't mean you're obligated to share. Also even though we don't see everything, from what I can see you seem happier. Plus we get beauiful content from several beautiful places!! Always enriched by your insight, wit and creativity, of course. Cheers!
I relate to so much you said. I’m also 29 this year, approaching the big 30 and am also splitting my life between two places because I’m a travel nurse. I completely understand what you mean by the whole better knowing what you want to do at 24 vs now. I feel like when we’re younger, we have an idea of what our life will be like by the time we’re 30, a lot of which is driven by societal norms :) I thought that I’d be married, settled down, etc. and that’s just not the reality. And now that I am almost 30, I’m constantly thinking what do I really want to do? I’m happy with my life right now but I fully recognize that it’s a phase, a stepping stone to get to the place I’m actually supposed to end up, I just don’t know what that’s supposed to be. But I’m okay not knowing right now, it’s about the journey and the process. We’ll all end up where we’re supposed to be eventually and I’ve learned that the most important thing is surrounding yourself with people who will support you through it and cherish you. It’s also truly a blessing to have a good support system to fall back on, even if you’re not always near each other I’ve actually come to treasure my friends and family even more and feel right back at home when I see them and spend time with them again.
Enjoy your life, girl! Seeing how you move about in the world is so freaking inspiring! You really inspire me and I’m sure so many others. ❤️ As far as your room switcharoo, even though the sofa does look nice in the dining room, it may make sense to just switch it back. Lol I know how bad you wanted that dining table in the living room, but like you said, it just isn’t practical.
You don't owe anyone an explanation - it's such a joy to watch you loving life in whatever form that takes I'm living in NYC and plan to split my time between here and LA because that's what I want out of this phase in life. Sending lots of positivity your way xx
I think a custom built desk perfectly fitting right under the windows in the first room would be stunning! The room would also feel much more spacious which would be nice if you always walk through ut
I appreciate how you’ve described your current state...I’m much older ( have followed you since before you moved to London, have always enjoyed your videos..brings joy😊)..and more perhaps in your mums generation..what I can say is that previous generations like mine, didn’t have as much choices as yours does..my “children” are 29..I have triplets😊 and they feel the same..not sure yet what they want to do and also don’t feel the pressure to have to make any firm decisions but rather just enjoy whatever opportunities present themselves. Enjoy enjoy enjoy! Lots of living to do yet!
Regarding your space, you could move your living room back in the bigger room and maybe have a smaller table/desk area by the window (although, admittedly I don't think it would fit with the sofa, but then again on camera everything looks different)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this! I find your independence and way of living really inspiring, and it makes me think more about how I want to shape my life. I am 23 years old and graduating with a masters in pharmacy in 2 years, and the thought of settling with a "normal", predictable job and life makes me anxious. Even though my career choice has less flexibility than yours, you inspire me to seek out the possibilities to use my career to for example experience a different country. sending you lots of love from Norway! 😘
The coffee table is def the prob which sucks. I think you have to move that big cabinet and put one of your wire chairs on the other side of the coffee table where the cabinet is now. You can squeeze by one piece of furniture in a room (coffee table) but two is too many. I'd try separating the chairs. This set up with the bright dining table/workspace is lovely.
Lovely video! I do feel that when you come at a point in your life that you embrace the unknown, others can get uncomfortable. But the most important is your own path and to follow that! About the rooms: it seems as if you want to put everything like it was but dont look at the size ;) Change is hard but maybe consider separating the chairs and/or bookshelves. Is there another place in the house somewhere?
Clearly I don't know your room measurements, but Consider moving the wire chairs to the front window. Try the coffee table with them. Buy one new stool/table about 15" in circumference to put in front of the couch. For parties, the Bertoia chairs would be easy to move near the couch if needed.
Maybe you can move one of the wire chairs into a bedroom? It wouldn’t solve the table issue but it might create more space. Like, one less obstacle to get through the room haha
Re the room dilema.... have you considered moving your living space into the kitchen and them finding/buying smaller but equally cosy pieces for your library/reading room? The kitchen is a gorgeous space and always the prefered spot for friends and family to hang out even if it means sacrificing the wooden table. Good luck with it all.
Well, its like what Taylor Swift said.. "how can a person know everything at 18 but nothing at 22?" I mean i would swap that with like 20 and 25 but yaknow. It is somehow really comforting to hear that you dont have a grand plan and thinking about the long game and just living in the moment, because its fucking exhausting to plan out your life like that. I think we've really moved past that now at 2022. And I might be wrong, of course, you know yourself way better than ANYONE.. to me, it sounds like you've been thinking about living this way for a long time but hesitant of the backlash from people (which I noticed you get a lot of, jeez!), but I just wanna pat you in the back for DOING YOU and not letting other people make you live smaller. Thanks for showing us that, Lizzy!
I am 28, going on 29, and I feel so similarily to you. in some ways, I am glad to still be so uncertain. it means there is still so much to discover and explore. in other moments, it is so overwhelming. but I do like and try to truly appreciate that there are so few moments in life where we have agency to make these big, seemingly careless moves to explore and it is wonderful when we enjoy it but still OK when we don't. I'm not sure how possible but swapping the mirrors and bookshelves may provide more space in the living room.
I think that you should do you and there isn't any reason whatsoever that you need to know what you want to do. Live in the present and be happy. About the rooms: switch it back, isn't your work table the same table that when you have guests, you eat at and gather? If so, move it closer to the kitchen, what a hassle to have to navigate the wire chairs and coffee table every time you bring things to the long table. I love the look of a dining area lined with books! So unexpected and lovely! Keep it simple with the long table in the middle of the room near the kitchen and put the other items back in the front room.
I like the couch in the library..maybe switch your dining table with your office table? And then add a loveseat in your new office to partner with your coffe table and wore chairs
The mouse is like that to tell you to take a break. I think I googled it at one point in frustration 😉 Maybe move the mesh chairs to the bay window- shifting the table a little- and just move back when there's a gang round. Maybe push the coffee table towards the books, so you walk through via the couch?
I would keep couch where you have it now, and ditch the coffee table for now, maybe for a few days see how it looks without it.. it's beautiful but in that space.. overwhelms and breaks the flow completely. or have it back with couch in the living room, depends.. where do you prefer your wooden table to be, to work from.. is being in the bright front space just more enjoyable? I have similar issues with where to place furniture in my living room which is a bit awkward and I've moved everything a hundred times.. :P It's nice when you ask us for our suggestions , love that you share this stuff. anyway always enjoyed your vlogs, your realness :) you've inspired me in many ways xo
Lizzy you are genuinely the most humble and unproblematic RUclipsr so I genuinely scratch my head at how much hate you seem to get online (we've all seen the forums). I can only assume it comes from a place of jealousy but please know that we are all here because we enjoy your content and I just wish I could give you a big hug ❤️
You could play around with your chair placement: moveBertoia’s to office and smaller chairs to library. Split them up ie. one under the window or next to the sofa in front of the door…
Lizzy I would do the exact same across NY and London if I was in your posiiton! Definitely enjoy it. Re house organisation, I'd suggest getting a new skinnier coffee table, a similar glass style one shouldn't be too hard to find especially if you look second hand too x
I did see a lot of RUclipsrs that started young don’t want to share as much. Tbh I’m good with you not explaining things - I don’t understand the need to buy a house if it s to live somewhere else and how it allows flexibility. I don’t understand how the us allows you to come and go without a visa. I don’t understand how you can adopt a cat and leave him behind after the pandemic and I don’t understand the amount of money it takes to go back and forth. I do enjoy the visuals and the somewhat fashion video but the rest I can’t relate with. It does sound extremely privileged but I think you know this. I guess thanks for bringing more clarity. No shade though just being honest you should live your life the way you want to
This might be a bit of a hot take but regarding the first section of this video and your difficulties finding where to draw the line between your personal life and online life... I've been watching your videos for years now and you used to make a lot more explicitly 'fashion content' - with videos that had strong themes etc. You now make more vlogs (perhaps we could even say lifestyle content), and it feels like the fashion elements get a bit more space on instagram than they do here. I love your vlogs and find them really calming but when you're further extracting your life from that lifestyle content (which is totally understandable) it sort of feels like you're leaving a bit of a void that needs to be filled by something? I hope this makes sense and doesn't come off as a drag. As for the cozy sofa room; the element that doesnt work is that gorgeous coffee table - but since it's a classic piece, I'd say find a way to put that and the chairs by the bay window and get a smaller dining table? Finally love the big light in the hallway and the way it is framed by the moulding
Just adding to the room dilemma, like someone already mentioned maybe get a smaller wooden table that would give enough space to move the glass table and chairs back to the living room. Could you consider swapping your kitchen table with the work table if that would be a bit smaller. :)
Or put the bigger table in the kitchen. Current kitchen table in the living room. Move one of the wire chairs (or both in the kitchen). As the sofa looks good in front of the bookshelf. Probably, move the tall drawers into the front living room. There’s a few options.
When you are going bk and forth from London to NY, do you Air B&B your stays in NY and is it a new AB&B every time?….or do you pay for a rental for a year for the freedom?
You may not want to hear this, but I think the living/dining solution would be to change the furniture... obviously the coffee table and chairs were bought for a much larger space... very sad, but as you say/know, just not the right sizing for your new home xx
Hi Lizzy, I feel like I’m in a similar place as you, in my late twenties and not really sure what I’m doing/ where to settle. I find great comfort in this video ☺️❤️ thank u
"It's lovely to have someone to come home to" referring to your friend Lindsey staying with you. Lizzy, perhaps a Freudian slip. But totally understandable. I hope you find that contentment but first steps would be to be "present" in one place, like your lovely London home, and create a real life community. ❤
Well that reading room is bloody brilliant, like it was always supposed to be like that. That coffee table is frustratingly the main barrier, Is there another door to the kitchen, could it be used a bit of a snug instead? Just commit to there not really being through traffic. could you also consider making the second door redundant in said reading room and shifting one of the chairs into the corner somehow?
I don't know if this has been said because I haven't thoroughly read the comments. Why don't you just slide the coffee table toward the sofa and create a bigger space between the chairs when you are doing a lot of walking back and forth. When you are entertaining or you're settled in a good read, put the coffee table and chairs in the proper position. Its not a perfect solution but it allows you keep what you have where you have. I know people who have to squeeze their dining room table into their living room and when its not being used for entertaining, it just gets pushed up against the wall so it doesn't interfere with traffic flow.
Hey! about your room/space quandary: I don't know if it works regarding the size of the sofa etc. , but have you considered putting the sofa where the big dark wooden chest of drawers is, have the coffe table slightly more towards the wall (where the sofa is now)and moving the chairs also more towards that wall. (hope it makes sense haha) as said dont know if works out regarding the size of the roome, sofa etc. :) Love your videos!^^
Just had to chime in about the mouse because I’ve had the same thought lol if it allowed you to charge and use then it technically becomes a “wired” mouse which defeats the design/purpose 🙃 apple just loves to make interesting decisions
As someone who typically views your posts on Instagram I happened to stumble across this video. I think the reason why some people in the comments might seem irked is because this video seems somewhat out of touch with what’s actually going on in the UK right now… deepening economic crisis, cost of living… as you’ve already noted. I think it’s best not to provide an explanation and keep people guessing if the answer is going to be this. I will be sticking with your fashion content but I don’t think I’ll be coming back to the vlogs. To me as a woman of colour it’s a timely reminder that I need to limit the amount of content I consume from women who make a living off selling the privileged white woman archetype- not your fault, your content can’t cater to everyone after all.
I love the sofa in the reading nook, I think the glass table has to go...put it in storage for now and see how it feels to be without it? And have one less chair? How often are two people sitting in those chairs. If not often, reduce to one!
Girl, if I had the funds and the freedom, I would be doing the exact same thing! Honestly, make the most of your life. Do what feels right. This may be a season in your life that you just really need right now. Live it!
Couldn’t agree more! You do what serves Lizzy 🙂💛
100%!!!!!!
I agree 100%!
Love 'make the most of your life.'! So so so true
I second this! But maybe if she moved the big cabinet somewhere else she could have a wire chair on either side of the sofa?
@@josepha133 that's possible too of course! Although I find filling a space with items 'in two's' always a bit predictable. Alternatively maybe one of the wire chairs can find a home in the kitchen, near all the natural light, makes for a lovely quiet place to sit as well.
My thoughts exactly. Only 1 chair. Move the table to another room. Move the dark wood kabinet. Keep the table in the other room and keep it to a minimal. Oh and I would keep the dining room table and not size down. ;)
Also to consider; the flow from the kitchen to the diner table (or wherever you eat) . Is it through the living room and would that be an obstacle in the long term? But then again; the setup now doesn’t have to be forever ;)
@@mitziwijne4571 to be fair there are quite a few houses with front room dining rooms
Well said
I’m 43 and I think what you’re going through right now (not ‘going through’, but I hope you know what I mean) is something that most people go through at your age.
I actually think it's very refreshing that you keep your life pretty private. It just feels authentic and more thoughtful, if that makes sense.
Great idea! Keep the couch in the reading room for sure and move the big wooden table to the kitchen to open up the living room again...
excellent music in that bodega! I love NY. There's no better. I live in London now and miss NY everyyyyyy day.
Thanks for the update Liz. Your house is really shaping up. You're so sweet and you look gorgeous as always!
Perfect!
@@northernlassie2755 😘
Re the room layout:
perhaps put the wire chairs and coffee table in front of the bay window to create a small sitting area and get a smaller work table.
For the reading room you could add a rug and a side table
The table in the front room would look nice facing the window and pushed up against the left side but only with the narrow part of the table
This would allow the 2 steel chairs to sit in the front room
Which would allow more space in the reading room
If you listened carefully she loves her coffee table and is not wanting to switch it, obviously..
Really beautiful tone and style :-) 👍👌
Relatable and thought provoking vlog.
As far as your room switcharoo, even though the sofa does look nice in the dining room, it may make sense to just switch it back. Lol I know how bad you wanted that dining table in the living room, but like you said, it just isn’t practical.
You don't owe anyone an explanation - it's such a joy to watch you loving life in whatever form that takes
I'm living in NYC and plan to split my time between here and LA because that's what I want out of this phase in life. Sending lots of positivity your way xx
@Telegram me👉LizzyHadfield I’m guessing this is spam :((
It’s amazing you’re doing it though. And I love watching you.
could listen to you all day!
I'm seeing everyone say buy new stuff and put old stuff in storage. Do not buy new stuff yours is lovely and you can make it work.
"when you come at a point in your life that you embrace the unknown, others can get uncomfortable" - you said that perfectly!
@@fashionschlub5086 Thank you! 😊
competely understand - after several months in london i want to LEAVE but then return
London home vlogs just hit different
I love
I love the thumbnails of your videos! Excited to watch this! 😍
If you can why not! The best way to live life 😍
I would def swap the rooms back, have you thought about knocking the doorway out between both rooms maybe .
Lizzy, have you thought about opening the space up by knocking the wall down between the two rooms ?
Ahh loved this video, lovely to hear from you re your current dual city lifestyle. Its fascinating!
more power to you and I really enjoy the honest transparent chat
So happy for you Lizzy
Lizzy you are genuinely the most humble and unproblematic RUclipsr so I genuinely scratch my head at how much hate you seem to get online (we've all seen the forums). I can only assume it comes from a place of jealousy but please know that we are all here because we enjoy your content and I just wish I could give you a big hug ❤️
Enjoyed your vlog Lizzy. I hope we get the chance to see some footage of Luigi one day, I really miss that little guy!
The Apple mouse is a blessing and a curse…have a coffee break? Be stressed about the work you’re not getting done? Win/lose.
Move the big cabinet to the front room, where the small shelving unit is, then move one of the wire chairs where the cabinet was.
You may not want to hear this, but I think the living/dining solution would be to change the furniture... obviously the coffee table and chairs were bought for a much larger space... very sad, but as you say/know, just not the right sizing for your new home xx
I do feel the coffee table is too large for the room, but you love it so maybe shin pads are the answer!!
I think if you switch it back you should get a small desk to work from the living room.
But I love the idea of the reading room!!!
This is SO refreshing to hear!! Live it up gf!
Loved this video 💖 really just seems like you should get a new coffee table for the space and it would flow so well! Lots of love xxx
lovely vlog as always lizzy! especially like these longer ones
Hey! about your room/space quandary: I don't know if it works regarding the size of the sofa etc. , but have you considered putting the sofa where the big dark wooden chest of drawers is, have the coffe table slightly more towards the wall (where the sofa is now)and moving the chairs also more towards that wall. (hope it makes sense haha)
as said dont know if works out regarding the size of the roome, sofa etc. :)
Love your videos!^^
Missed you! Already know I’m going to love this video x
The apple mouse charging outlet… I can’t. Felt the same way first time I went to charge my mouse. Whyyyy
