    I've had times in my life, when I wasn't attending church, but now that I'm back, I feel much closer to Jesus Christ than when I wasn't attending. I have the hope that God will be with us and will help us throughout our lives to have joy in him! God loves each of us with his whole soul, and he wants each of us to have a strong relationship with him!

    Anything broken can be mended by the Lord, loved this statement as it encompasses us all. This day and time, is the time to make decision as where we want to be in the eternities. Let us be more valiant. Family is so important! Thank you, this talk has touched me deeply. Jesus Christ is the answer to our problems!

    I love this heartfelt and genuine talk filled with hard truths. Those truths can and will impact my own life and my posterity’s lives in a positive way depending on my willingness to ask Heavenly Father to help me understand what I need to gain from this talk and then how I can implement that into my life.

    I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as I was growing up. Then when I got older I tried many different churches and eventually came back to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    With the exception of a few strange religions, most churches had some good things to say and even had the spirit at times, but the difference between their churches and my church is like having a loaf of bread and a can of spam or a prime rib dinner with all the trimmings. I could survive on a loaf of bread and a can of spam but I'd rather have the full meal deal. The good dinner is also much better for my body and gives it greater energy as well.

      Not to mention that the can spam has some unhealthy chemicals.

    This is a remarkable story, a missionary moment of Glory for the Lord and the Lord's people. This is why we have a prophet and apostles in this church. To teach us and remind us how wonderful it will be if we can bring other people the good news of Christ. Excellent story and thank you for your service in the Church Jesus Christ.

      He didn't call you the weak link. You called yourself that. Maybe there's some truth there. It's worth some introspection.

    • @choosehigherground
      @choosehigherground Год назад

      I don’t know anything regarding your circumstances or weaknesses/strengths… but I do know that weakness is not, or at the very least does not have to be, a bad thing. Consider 2 Corinthians 12:
      “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
      10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
      You can know that when each of us is weak, we have greater need for the Savior’s tender and loving help. If in our weakness we turn to Him, He will “rest upon [us]”. It is then that our weakness is a strength beyond measure, because our Savior fights our battles and carries our burdens.
      Take glory in your weakness by turning to the Savior Jesus Christ. It is your weakness that shows you that you are in His refining fire. All value in worldly metals comes from working impurities out through intense fire/refining. Similarly, we increase in our own refining as a result of once being weak.
      “6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
      7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ”
      I know things that others can say hurt… a lot. Allow yourself to choose to take that pain to Jesus Christ.. not only will you not have to heal yourself, but you will also grow so much closer to Him. I promise you that He will heal you in ways that are perfect for you. Being the “weak link”, whether true for you or not, is only an opportunity for you to choose to be hardened into one of the strongest links.
      Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you.. ALWAYS. You cannot lose or earn that love. It is in your efforts to follow Them that you show (and grow) your love for Them. I testify that there are wonders and miracles yet ahead for you. Keep your head up and press on through the storm. Remember that Peter only sank when he took his focus off of the Savior, Jesus Christ (by focusing on the waves and wind he was passing through). Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ and nothing will be able to conquer you, for He will go before you. You’ve got this

    • @angiegalang7764
      @angiegalang7764 Год назад

      It is not how you are identified as weak link but what are you going to do about it.. It's time to reflect on what's ahead and what need to be change to get closer to God and be the person our Savior wants us to be. All of us has weakness, all of us. So I don't take the weak link phrase to be too personal. ❤

    I see the comments section. I know what it’s like to walk away from the church, and it is a church, and go to the comments section of RUclips to justify your decision. Be honest with yourself. Don’t go around pissing on someone’s flower bed, just because you didn’t like the smell of the flowers! Your efforts to go to each and every conference talk on RUclips you disagree with, and comment will only be validated by those who’ve chosen a similar path as yourself. I’ve been there. It’s just another evidence that the hole you’ve created in leaning leaving the church has never truly been filled! You are hurt. True healing comes through Jesus Christ. Let’s find him, wherever we are, in or out of the church, and give our broken hearts TO HIM! Much love and peace be with you ❤️

    The story you tell is wonderful, but the lesson you learned from it, is not the lesson I would take. Church leaders should welcome and embrace lukewarm members. I don't think it helps to tell lukewarm members that they're at risk of losing their children. Remember that this religion believes in 3 glories in heaven, we'll still see our family if they are decent human beings

      And yet, you continue to listen to its messages. Perhaps you secretly miss it in which case I don’t blame you. If you leave a God sized hole in your heart, something is bound to fill it and I know it can’t be better than the restored Church.

      I know what it’s like to feel like leaving the church, and it is a church, would be better than to stay. But when I looked at all the wonderful lessons - love others, love God, love yourself, serve selflessly, and find joy in every moment - I realized that the issue wasn’t the church, it was me. If you find yourself losing joy in the journey, you can try simplifying your discipleship. I realized that the root of my issue was how I viewed the gospel. The only thing the gospel teaches is to repent and try each day to be like the Savior and that he is merciful. We will never be good enough, but he he is. Living THAT kind of a gospel will be a blessing to all, including yourself!
      Your children will be grateful you didn’t walk away, just because it felt like a good idea at the time. I’m grateful my parents came back, and I know my child will be glad I did too! We love you friend ❤️ You may be gone, but don’t go far!

      I have lost my family for this church, which is truly the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Trust me when I say: I have wrestled, doubted, questioned. The nature of the way I lost them was at the help and assistance of some local leaders. This broke my heart and really made me question whether this church could possibly be led by the God in the scriptures. There was no mercy, love, or even simple human kindness shown to me. To make matters worse, the way I was treated was unwarranted and unfair/unjust.
      My wife left because “it’s what God wanted” when I knew that was simply not God. I lost contact with my beautiful and wonderful little children who were my everything… my very world.
      To say I was concerned about whether the Holy Spirit was even speaking to any of us, would be an understatement.
      That is when I doubled down my efforts to push through.. to do everything I possibly could to draw as close to Jesus Christ as I could. Fighting off immense pain, doubts, abandonment from the closest people I trusted.. I learned to trust in the One source I could always rely on, Jesus Christ. He knew me. He knew what I was going through and how wrong the situation was. He upheld and protected me from my despair and then He taught me and guided me to love more. I’m not even close to perfect in charity, but He taught me.. no matter what others do.. I still need to choose to love. He built my testimony up in ways that cannot fall. He showed me the truth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through the Holy Spirit. Love abounds in this Church. You will not receive love from every member, but I know that we each do not love every member perfectly.. even if we desire to. I lost my family, but still I know and can testify that this church is truly the restored church of Jesus Christ.
      There are going to be times we all face unfair and unjust actions at the hands of others.. even members of an imperfect nature who are still progressing and learning just as we are. The only thing you can choose is how you react. Job 27:5 brings a lot of strength and resolve:
      “God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.”
      I plead with you to remember the happiness you’ve once felt, even if it seems like all you feel is pain now. Refocus on the Savior, Jesus Christ. Plead in prayer all your concerns and heartbreaks and He will draw near. He will not forsake or abandon you, AND He will show you the truth that this church is truly His. No matter what you think you’ve found to invalidate the truthfulness of the church… I have consistently gone back to Heavenly Father in prayer pouring my heart and even doubts out to Him and He renewed my faith and testimony EVERY time. It takes work though. You have to “consume” examples of truth so that the Holy Spirit can testify of truth. Read the Book of Mormon, for this is an easy way to specifically know who this church follows. Also watch general conference talks. I have studied so Heavily in the Bible through my trials and everything points me back to the Savior, Jesus Christ and His restored church.
      I sorrow at the pain you must surely feel towards His church for whatever reason. I mourn in the experiences you must surely have had to endure, that have led you to this conclusion. However, I rejoice knowing that this church is truly Jesus Christ’s restored church. I rejoice knowing that all are invited to come and see, and that all who earnestly seek and pray for help WILL receive His help. I know of this personally. I could have given up multiple times, but the motto “just a little further” led me to always crest those mountains of doubt or pain.
      “As we come closer to the Lord, we also draw greater attention from Lucifer and encounter greater turbulence in our lives.”
      “We learn as our knowledge grows that the wind whistles loudest around the highest peaks.”
      I truly testify that Jesus Christ lives. That He has restored His church in its fullness. That He is the God of love taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have personally seen this love. I have personally witnessed His strength and upliftment. And I know without a doubt that you can feel and know these things as well.
      Please don’t run from the source of healing because of the very pain needing healing. “Just a little longer” and you will crest that refiner’s fire.
