What is Self Sovereign Identity?

Following the large data breaches suffered by several high profile companies, many are looking towards technology solutions that can enable individuals to have greater control over their personal data and information. The OECD asks Mariana Dahan, a former official at the World Bank and initiator of the global ID4D agenda and current Chief Executive Officer of the World Identity Network, to explain self sovereign identity and how this technology can help strengthen identity management systems.
