AWESOME VIDEO Joe! Excellent video addendum/addition to my top 5! Great point about 'buying the dealership' and not the tractor! No doubt! I am so glad that you continued on and issued the challenge to the 3 other guys because to be honest, my list could have been the top 15, but between each of us we will surely help new tractor buyers to avoid all of our mistakes during our own learning curves of tractor ownerships! Loved the 'pin on proprietary' loader attachment! And of course, yes I totally agree with your top 5! Looking forward to see if/when the next 3 channels add to our lists! Thanks brother!
Thanks for laying the groundwork! Sometimes it’s the simple videos that matter the most. I wish I would have taken all the advice the first time but I sure paid my “rookie tax!” Now get in the truck and come back to the farm for another collab!
Listening to you talk about humidity reminds me of how much I despise summer. I suppose if I had a cab I wouldn’t hate heat so much. But then I couldn’t fit it in my garage or workshop.
The cab is a game changer. When I get out of the ac into the oppressive heat I thank myself every time. My tractor would live outside if thats what it took to have the cab. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Last month I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2021 RX7320 with 131 hours. I totally agree with the 5 items you mentioned in this video. Fortunately the unit I purchased has all those features. Tim in northern TN
Great video Joe, as always. I agree with the point you were making about spending a few dollars or even a few thousand dollars more, it it makes the tractor's and your production more efficient. For some folks, it's not the initial $50,000.00 that hurt as bad as the $1500.00 3d Function. Pick an excellent dealer, decide what you need for your property, get a fair price, and just rip the band-aid off. -Mike-
Thanks Mike! Totally agree. That extra $1,500 seems to hurt more than the entire machine! Glad your crew gave me some great advice when buying my equipment. I appreciate you all!!!
Great run down. Thanks for sharing your expense logic ( how much it costs over the life of the machine). Makes sense. Reminds me of a 4-door Cherokee I bought years ago with roll up windows because I didn’t want to pay for power windows. I have tried to use that lesson & apply it on every purchase since.
Thanks for watching Jeff! And yes, the ol’ buy once cry once. I am thankful for each of these features every time I use the tractor. Appreciate you my friend.
Hey Joe new to your channel as well as Kappers . I’m in South Louisiana and own a lawn care business and I’m thinking about adding a tractor and batwing to my fleet . I was looking at a NS 6010 cab but after watching you and kapper with the Rx7320 , I’m sold on it . I actually went look at one and drove it yesterday . Fell in love with it . And I wouldn’t own a tractor without a cab cause it gets hot as hell down here . Down here everybody tints their windows on their cab tractors to keep it a lil cooler . That would be the only other thing I would add after you and kapper said the five things .
Hey! Welcome to the channel! I am very happy with the RX and the cab is 💯 non negotiable for me. You actually get more out of the purchase for a little more money. And, tractors are a long term purchase. Get the one you want because it will be with you for a while! Good luck on the business and keep in touch!
I just bought a Mahindra 1640 with a cab and sprung for the 3rd fu action and grapple, loader, backhoe, box blade and auger so far. Absolutely love the cab.
Humidity in Oklahoma has been brutal as well. Good video brother! My 1953 ford 34 horse has a brush hog and a box blade and thats about the extent! HAHA lol.
Ha!!! I’m not so sure my Kioti will be around in 70 years so I guess the best feature your tractor has is longevity!!! Appreciate you watching my friend!
Thanks for the video. All great options. One thing I found on the third function is, some manufacturer's factory installed 3rd function uses a diverter valve instead of a true 3rd function valve. I'm glad I got a true 3rd function setup because I often run the 3rd function and the bucket roll at the same time, which you can't do with a diverter valve. There are also switch-kits available to allow continuous flow at the 3rd function for running hydraulic motors on attachments out on the loader.
I just bought a new tractor. I got the 2024 LS 242 CH. YES it has the cap, having 3rd function added. I did see in your video I might add a few more toys to my new toy. I also have a 65 messy ferguson 35. It was my dad's. World of different between the two. Can't wait for the new tractor to be Delivered. Waiting on them to add the 3rd Function For my new grapple. I don't know a lot about LS Tractors, hoping I got a good one. I did look at all the brands. $ was right onthe LS , WITH WHAT I ADDED. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND KEEP TRACTORING.
In my part of the country wheel spacers are golden! I have all the things you mentioned, love them all. Next step is a switch from quickhitch to aframe.
All great points. I was a D.A. when I bought my Kubota. I did not get the third function because I did not think I would ever need a grapple. I simply ran hoses back to my remotes when I did get a grapple They are tucked in out of sight and cable tied in place Although my system works well and at a fraction of the cost, I have to operate 2 levers I have even added a post/ tree puller to my equipment arsenal now, so you are absolutely right about the 3rd function.
Great video I don't know how many times I bought things and wished I knew about them better. Researching is easier now helps making a good decision. Heck my first new car was a 75 ford Pinto I didn't know they blew up.💣

Howdy Joe. My 7320 developed a problem the other day. Fired it up to run the AC a minute before heading to mow hay and noticed a fairly bad hydraulic leak. Got a bit freaked out but it turns out was just an o-ring. Was the return line from the joystick valve. Easy repair to do myself. 560 hours, first issue. Not bad
Hey Mike! Yeah, I had a front right seal on the axle give out but I am pretty sure it was my fault from too much grease. Those of us with RX’s know that they are beasts. Very happy with mine! Thanks for watching buddy!
i got a 2022 tym t494 from mike, the nice thing about tym 3rd function is they use hard lines to the loader. a cutting edge is cheap and makes a huge difference. i have a fransgard log grapple and like to play in the woods of central ny so the cab is an issue for me. hydraulic top link a great buy for $250
That’s awesome that you got a TYM from Mike all the way in NY! Chances are “BadCat” delivered it! It’s the little add ons that make the tractor so much more useful. Appreciate you watching my friend!
Excellent justification for all five upgrades, and I couldn't agree more with the exception of #5. I have an open station tractor and feel that I don't need the heat in the winter, living in the South, and I enjoy the open air regardless of the heat in the summer. I put only about 80 hours per year on my machine, so I'm not making a living on it where climate control is important. Additionally, I do considerable mowing in areas that have overhanging limbs that would interfere with a cab, and I don't feel the need to groom the trails and firebreaks to accommodate that feature. To each his own....
I have used both but I prefer the John Deere quick attach loader system. The system you have almost made me drop a bucket on my foot. I totally agree with the choice of a cab but it was $7000 for my John Deere. For me the cab was for the opposite weather condition. I use a front mounted snow blower and have been out plowing in -30 degrees with just a light jacket on and still comfortable.
I have the rx7320 . 22 model. I had 4 things added. 1 . Thrid function with flat face couplars for skid steer attachments. 2. 3rd rear remote 3. Strobe light on top of cab . 4. Loaded tires all the way around . Mainly for plowing . Helps with tire wear with snow pusher. Extra is 1 dentented remote for the log splitter.
Good video. I'm also a Kioti fan. I own three of them currently (one is also the RX7320 cab). One thing you left out was synchro-shuttle. The ability to go from forward to reverse with one lever is very helpful. I don't buy the power-robbing hydrostatic models, and I guess I'm in the minority for this. I owned one a few years ago and traded it in within the first year. It's very limiting for what you can do with your tractor. I would also add four wheel drive to the must haves. Even so, this is a great explanation video.
Hey all, thanks for watching! Also, if you think there is something that I left off feel free to let us all know about your favorite "must have" options, accessories or implements!
I have rear hydraulics for my backhoe but there’s no control for the hydraulic when the backhoe is off the subframe. How do I add controls to utilize the rear hydraulic for a hydraulic top link?
Thats a great question. I think you would just need to stack a remote on the rear hydraulics but there could be a work around to use the existing hydraulics. Either way, the hydraulic top link never leaves the machine. I love that thing! Thanks for watching!
Same here, Southern Oregon field mowing is brutal on glass. I’m having a hard enough time not destroying my sun shade and it isn’t looking good so far. 😬
I would but I am very rarely out at night on the tractor. I was on the Ventrac last night until dark but not usually the tractor. Is there a brand/model that you like or that worked well for you?
We are setting heat records in Aridzona for September. I renamed the state. We will use our tractor in the winter or early morning, late evening, due to the 100 degree heat 300 days per year. We will not use a cab on our very small Kioti tractor.
Aridzona; now THAT is fully! The hot season is when we really use the tractor most. That and early spring. A cab for me is a must. I've also picked up an implement and had a hundred wasps coming at me for disturbing them. That glass makes a great barrier! Glad you have a machine you like!
@@JoeTheFarmer We do most of out work Nov - Mar when it's not 100 degrees plus. I bought my Kioti cs 2220 to maintain the 55 acre fence line at the goat farm here.
Don't buy a dealership I don't feel like running a dealership I bought a tractor that has nothing to do with who sold it to me Old YANMAR. The thing is a beast and I have no intention of taking it to the dealer when I break it. I've had a couple minor things that I have demolished but I live on a rock that I've been slowly breaking into little rocks replacing items with my own designs little better here and there it's a work in progress like everything. I did just purchase landscape rake I hope to be taking delivery soon.
Yanmar is a great machine. I actually know a Yanmar dealer and kind of proves my point. I service mine too but if something happens good to know good folks have your back. Warranty will keep you working with a loaner instead of wrenching but to each their own. Appreciate you watching buddy and stay safe out there!
@JoeTheFarmer trust me you would never go back after having a European style adaptor like the row crop size tractors use. It automatically springs shut when you put an attachment on and it never binds up or slips loose like a skid steer
I'm not big on cabs but it is a personal preference. My big must have, or actually, must NOT have is computers. Too much expense when they malfunction.
A cab is ok for flat land and doing chores like mowing. However they are heavy and they change the tractor’s center of gravity so not good on slopes. Plus they’re not cheap if you smash it and you will smash it if you actually work with it.
but how many people have REALLY smashed their cab? I hear that all the time; and just think of how many times a branch has smoked the side of mine. The glass is tougher than you think. But, I get it's not for everyone.
@@JoeTheFarmer I had a cab and I knew better because I work in the woods all the time. Branch got me and busted out 1 window. They wanted $800 so i took the cab off stored it in my shed somewhere. That was 12 years ago.
How come you have your bucket tipped completely under? I don't even think this is possible with my Kubota although I would never try it because having worked in Service & warranty at a Skid Steer loader Manufacturer, I do know that this is a sure way to bend tilt Cylinders. I would not pay any warranty claims for bent cylinders when I was there. We designed stops to try and prevent this but people would still find a way to over extend the cylinders and bend them. I agree with most of your picks but cost is still a consideration and with the smaller tractors the cab can be almost 1/2 the price of the tractor putting it well beyond my means when I purchased my B2601 Kubota tractor. I modified an old tube and canvas cab that I got for free and hope to get a better one manufactured when I find the time.
That makes sense. It’s the mowing that makes the cab so worth it. The heat, dust and yellow jackets make it a must have pretty quick. Loader work is more fun without a can I’ll admit. Thanks for watching!
Rear remotes can be used to run front implements. $1500 for a front remote? Insanity. Adding rear remotes is not rocket science. Sorry you had a bad experience at a Deere dealer. My dreaded Green tractor has needed nothing beyond basic maintenance in almost 2k hours. Pick out a non dealer stocked part, and let's have a race to see who can get in their hands first. Quick hitches are much cheaper away from a dealer. Good dealers are great until they drop the brand or close. Buy once and cry once.
Remotes aren’t that bad and don’t mind paying to have it set up right the first time. I don’t dislike Deere, they are actually very nice. Just ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. Glad it has served you well and that you enjoy your machine.
Joe, I've got the same exact tractor as you and Kap have. I need to get myself a hydraulic top link. Would you mind posting a link to the one you have? It would make it easier for me so I don't have to take my existing one off and measure it when extended and compressed. Plus, if you like the one you have, I don't have to take a risk on one that's maybe Chinese made junk or whatever.
Hey Jeff, thanks for watching brother! And YES, you will absolutely love the hydraulic top link. I had mine installed as part of buying my RX, but mine is made by Bare Co. And they should be pretty uniform since they can adjust easily. I am pretty confident that mine is made in China, but it’s been a solid unit. Take care!
Thanks for stopping by!

Watching from upstate NY and it’s -2 right now. Give me some heat?
Amen brother. And the AC will be nice in the summer!!!
You could call the electric one the e-horn
Ha! Not a bad idea!
The perfect top five!
Thanks Jon!!!
Makes it fit in the barn better.
@@JoeTheFarmer Thank you for the answer, still gets my OCD going seeing them tipped that far :)
lol...more tractors than Kellogg's bhahahha
🤣🤣🤣
I don't want a cab for a log yard, and sawmilling, on and off constantly
That makes sense. It’s the mowing that makes the cab so worth it. The heat, dust and yellow jackets make it a must have pretty quick. Loader work is more fun without a can I’ll admit. Thanks for watching!
I was hoping to see the 🐝 because you talk about honey. Never talk about tractors before bees. Thank you sir. I’m a beekeeper.
I sure enjoy some honey. Thank you for caring for the bees.
They can, but if you’ve tried both ways, you will realize insanity is not having the third function on your loader stick operating the front remotes.
Take care!
@@JoeTheFarmer thank you Sir.
