    I'm a Windows Adobe CC user, but still loved this video.I really like the way you go through these functions and techniques I never would have otherwise used. I actually practiced the pen tools after the last video and was amazed how much more proficiency your tutorial added. This one's the same. tons of good hints here. Thank you.

    Looks like a pretzel, in my opinion, if you turn it around a bit; but still very nice. Great tutorial!

    Bummer that the rounding of the rectangle trick is only available in Illustrator versions CC and above! :(
    I think those of us without the CC version would have to achieve this by creating a separate rectangle and a circle, then arranging them in line and cutting away the extra vectors using the Scissors Tool.

    This was really informative. Do you have any tips on creating Monograms with a "K" in it? I always have a difficult time creating a hand lettered "K"

    Do you think it matters which letter(s) read first? Sometimes I make monograms and they end up reading backwards or maybe I'm thinking too much into it.

    dude I'm 15 and I love art so I'm thinking sbout being a grafic designer is that a good choice for a first job

      If you love your job, you'll never have to work a day in your life. ;)
      It can be tedious at times, but also very rewarding.
      During my creative career I have changed my focus from photo to video to design, to web, and back to design. Your first few jobs may be all about self discovery, but if you love creating well thought out works that have a physical purpose in the world, design is a good place to start your journey. I have been a designer for 8 years and I love every day. Good luck!

      Yo dude I'm also 16 but what I learned so far as an aspiring designer is that if you love art you'll probably hate design. Depends on what field you're going on. But in each one, the client is going to dictate what he wants. So if it might look like crap to you, to him it might be just perfect. Just keep that in mind.

      Just as another perspective I'm an aspiring designer too, just about to start a university degree in communication design. If you want to become a graphic designer there are plenty of courses to expand your knowledge of the subject. Just make sure you're adamant about the design life. If you're passionate then pursue your dreams. Maybe try some classes at school that can help you get a feel for it. As for jobs I've been running my own business on the side but I would recommend starting out working for someone it is always good to try the industry before starting your own freelance business. Hope that helped!

      wait wait wait, yall are being to upbeat haha, im a designer myself, but make sure you want to make designing more than a hobby, because sometimes making a hobby your career isn't all ways the best idea, regardless of how many people tell you, that you should make your hobby your job. I had to find a new hobby for myself, which ended up in me doing youtube, and learning film/screenwriting.

      Very good point, i have experienced this too. I still love design but i have also gotten into RUclips and music production as well that's why i'm still happy to design for a living because i have other pass times

      The bar can be changed in the settings of the Mac man, it's in appearance > dark mode or something like that. Google dark Mac status bar if you get stuck!

    The part where you transform the corners into a curve right around the 1:00 mark, was there an extra key stroke you did in there or did you just click and drag? I'm not sure it's available in my version of illustrator.

    Sorry for this question but i need to know how…
    I have illustrator CC and i need to know how curve the angles on a path (like at the start of this video when he do the C from a rectangle).
    My problem is that i don't know how to do it istantanely like in the video, because i don't have the drag-points for curving the angles of a path, and i don't find how to makes them appear ……

      I'm not an expert on this matter but I think that only newer versions of Illustrator have this options(cs5 and later). You can still make this effect but you will need to draw circles around your sharp corners and work your magic with efects like divide or something similar. There is a tutorial somewhere on yt I'm sure

    • @pbjrunr4468

      Use direct selection tool (white arrow), select corner of any object, then drag the small dot or just middle scroll.

    • @pbjrunr4468
      @pbjrunr4468 8 лет назад

      Also you might have extraneous anchor points or the object is not large enough.

      the dots for the angle curves for shapes was a feature in CC 2014, I think, I know for sure that it wasn't in CS5 or CS6

    Can somebody explain what a monogram is??

    • @zhooshcreates
      @zhooshcreates 8 лет назад

      Hey Micheal, A monogram is defined as a motif of two or more interwoven letters, typically a person's initials, used to identify a personal possession or as a logo.
