They have DEFINITELY changed! They look so beautiful! Please feel confident because you look so pretty with them. The color and all. It doesn’t look scalpy, thin, or see through. I wish my hair looked like that

Your locs are beautiful! I really want sisterlocs. I’ve wanted locs since I was a kid and my mom was always against me having them but now that I’m grown I really want to get them. However, I know I’m not going to be comfortable wearing them starting out, I just cut my heat damage so my hair is super short in it’s natural state. I know wearing wigs is not ideal but I appreciate you showing that your hair still looks great and healthy and that wigs are an option until you get more comfy in your journey.

Your locs are BEAUTIFUL! Put those wigs away! I just got mine installed on 9/14/20, looking forward to seeing how they progress over the next year.

Nicole Greene thank you! I still plan on wearing them interchangeably because I love my wigs too, but definitely want to embrace the locs more! I’m a perfectionist so I’m waiting for more length and fullness but I also know it’s best to just embrace it fully. Congrats on your start!!

Your locs look amazing! I think sometimes we just cannot see ourselves the way others do because your hair is seriously beautiful and full. Do you think wearing the wigs when you need to be "fancy" is making it harder to see your locs for being as versatile as they really are? I'm not trying to judge, I'm going through my own SL journey (I am approaching 2 weeks in) so I've been pushing myself to let go of how I had become used to seeing myself when I wore weaves. I mean I really had to force myself to show my husband my hair when I first got it done! I was so close to just wearing a turban for however long and then I was like this is ridiculous, it's just going to build up my anxiety more the longer I wait. And he was my hype man when I debuted it. My friends who I've shared pictures with have been on the hype train too. If you set a limit of a year for yourself, try to stick to it because wow you look incredible and the world needs to see this beauty! Thanks for sharing your journey.

Thank you! I definitely think we’re just our own worst critic and eventually I’ll just rip the band aid off. It was the same when I because a lose natural in college I was so nervous to leave my dorm room and finally I left and everyone loved my hair. I think I’m milking the wig life while I still while wishing my hair would grow over night lol. I think after maybe one or two more wig rotations I’ll start wearing them out. I’m not embarrassed of my locs or anything I’m just so used to the switch up life with wigs. And yay to two weeks in! I just saw a picture from day 1 and was like wait my hair IS growing!

@@AdenikeOlaleye YES it really is growing!!! Keep comparing pictures to give you perspective. It's easy to take the progression for granted otherwise. Are you into loc jewelry? I just ordered some from KeleebasCrafts on Etsy! I think we all just need to find ways to embrace that whole "trust the process" thing because it's not always easy. Day 1 I literally looked into the mirror and said "WHAT HAVE I DONE" but after that first wash my curls started trying to find some unity and I was like okay I can do this but let me get some crown adornments to look forward to. 🤣 Hang in there, beautiful!

@@Getitgirl816 Thank you! Some people say "it's just hair" but I disagree. It's a part of our identity so we're going to celebrate it! If I see one of my sisters having a day where that celebration doesn't come easily, I will always do what I can to lift her up and out of that space because I know what it's like to have those days. Be well!

Brett Berry I haven’t explored loc jewelry yet but I will to see how to use em on sisterlocks, i’m guessing I’ll have to group them together. And thank you I’m trusting the process and excited for what comes next.

Hey! I will be following your journey. My hair is like yours with color. I will be locking in january. But am wondering; could you please do a video on how to survive the first year with chicken looking hair, like how does one style not to look weird. Am dreading the first year! Did u wear wigs? And do you have pics of it? Greetings from Norway!

    • @Lucky-ry9es

It depends on your hair and your journey is going to be different. I am almost at 6 months and my hair only looks scalpy for about a week after a retie. It thickens and gets longer and it may not take a whole year for you to fall in love with your hair.

Nice video. Stay strong. Your hair has changed and is maturing nicely. Try to stop wearing the wigs and head covers as they slow the sister loc maturation process down drastically. Especially since you are aiming for more density and growth.
    Blessings

Thank you so much! I appreciate it! 😊 I know. There’s just some unlearning that has to happen so that I don’t feel the need to have certain hairstyles to accompany certain looks.
