I love the classics but since you turned me on to the DH I've been addicted. They float like a dream and for some reason the trout seem to prefer that impressionistic body. Great dry flies. Thanks for bringing this fly out of the shadows.
Thanks Davie, I've definitely become a firm DH convert thanks to you..
Re your comment, I do think the various FM packs of yarns have far too much material for the average tyer; we're not knitting jumpers with it after all. Its very costly to acquire a selection, and most of it will hang about for decades unused in folks drawers. That's not good environmentally, for one thing.
Something I do appreciate, though, is the hooks being in 50s - I think that's very sensible. I used to, still do, use a lot of Tiemco hooks - but those little boxes of 20, which would happily hold hundreds, really are a nonsense. And unacceptable in these days while we're destroying the planet. There needs to be a change of mindset I think, and anglers, angling suppliers, should be at the forefront of it.
Don't mean to be grumpy - love the superb videos, thanks again!
Roger
That is a really nice pattern. But that box ... that's a beautiful little case that's seen some water! I'm a little jealous of the treasures in there.
Hi Davie, I really enjoyed watching your recent “Lucky Friday 13th” trout fishing session. Thanks for sharing the DH Autumn Dun pattern, as the Brownies were really attracted to them. I will definitely be tying a few of these for my Fly Box. Regards, Wayne 😀👍
Dear Davie...
I have been an admirer of your fly-tying skills for a long time now. Your attention to detail and the craftsmanship you put into each fly is truly remarkable. Your tutorials are not only informative but also easy to follow, making them perfect for both beginners and experienced fly-tyers. Watching you work is a real inspiration!
I was wondering if you might consider creating a video showing your filming setup? It would be fascinating to see how you create such high-quality content and could help others who are interested in improving their own videos.
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with the world!
Best regards,Dino...
Hi Dino,
I have attached a link to a video I did today on my setup it's not the best but it will give you an idea how I do it. I will also be filming the way I edit my videos as well first chance I get..I'm glad you enjoy the videos..
