It's very good that it doesn't ring on the side, it avoids false positives and therefore improves the precision and the speed of discovery, we know that the object is straight ahead and not lost around the pointer. With classic pointers, we don't know if the object is to the right, to the left, down, diagonally… when the pointer is tilted and with an angle of less than 30°.
after using a Normal pinpointer for several years that works on all front and sides, it really took me a lot longer to find the target with this Quest pointer. I thought I was nuts because i always lost the target. It's up to you to decide what you like.
@@JohnKearney i got their reply and this is pretty much how it is. Because it's VLF and not PI, it's not working the same. Pity all the influencers just show all the ways it IS working, and not the ways it's not working so well. That's why I was brought to life, lol.
@@monstertruckess Yep, most just do the boring depth test from the tip and that's why I really liked your video out in the field. Nice to see its limitations. I actually want the Fisher F-Pulse (looks like a good balance of everything) but can't find it anywhere in the UK!
I bought one second hand. As long it is 5 degrees or more it works. Below that it starts messing around. Not very handy in wintertime! Besides that the red and green light and the screen are positioned at the wrong side of the pointer imo. On top it is easier to see while scanning a hole.
Thanks for this video. I'm going to buy a new pinpointer this week. I'd seen a video on the x pointer max , and it looked great. Didn't mention about the side issue.. this is bad. I think I'm going to go for a garrett at pinpointer.. a lot of people recommend them.
@@monstertruckess It was rather cold yeah. And i now think that is the main issue, as it works fine again now when im back home. Living in Norway, so a lot of the time when i am hunting, it is rather cold. Wish i knew this before buying it. I also tried slapping it in the field. Mostly out of anger :p, but didn't get it working sadly
@@glowpipe you can just send it back to the store. I waited till it was cold and it stopped working, and made a short video of it. I sent a mail and videolink to the store and they took it back and paid me back. That's why there exists warranty. No one should keep a faulty product, especially when it's this expensive.
Got the new max with magnetic holster took it out first time a few days ago started Beeding crazy for no reason had to switch it on and off same as you
Worst pinpointer ever. Also the latest version with Magic holster. You cannot find a goldring in dogshit. I have had both version....bad. Now I have the Garrett AT Pro. It works great and it's cheaper😮

I've used it for half a day and it stopped working, keeps saying "raise coil", over engineered crap

Used mine 3 times and now its locked in "raise coil" Doesn't matter what i do or where i turn it on. Just instantly go to raise coil

The Most unrelieable pin pointer I ever own, i have to carry a spare pin pointer with me as it keeps putting the rase coil error on all the time.
I have the same problem. Also it starts to beep and it only stops if I press the On/off button.
