It's just the way he exists, it hurts him but he doesn't have the capacity to understand why.
In the DLC, it's revealed the "spirit" is in fact an totem with the word "spirit" etched onto it's forehead. And some guy gets stuck in the cave and saved by some demon that curses him into the monster, so the monster is kinda occulty

So the creature we follow is the one we see in the Ending One? A worm with a human like torso and arms? He did talk about having arms and eyes during the game (unlike worms), but it also talked about crawling and getting out of the "woman" corpse so he has some worm like parts, so I think it fits with that creature's appearence. He isn't small either then, in fact he is probably large, if you thing about it a person crawling on the gorund wouldn't such a high point of view, but if we have a very big human half then it makes sense that while he is crawling he still has a relatively high view point and can also straighten up his body and go for the kill by pouncing on the victim like we see with Mary that is assaulted from something bigger then her. Based on the ritual thing we can guess he is either a demon or lovercraftian abomination. He does give the felling of a lovecraftian entity so I guess that is what he is. Probably he was only a normal maggot that ended up eating a lovecraftian replicant kind of monster that was slumbering or recoveing from wounds in the cave. The creature probably didn't notice the maggot until it was too late and it was bigger then her thanks to mystic property of a supernatural being's flesh. The voices might also be coming from actual lovecraftian creatures that like what he says when he talks about "having figured out it his place and objective" just want him to embrace his nature and wreack avoch or reproduce.

The comment about the "dark box" is interesting, Tvs nowadays are made so the only show light in the human visible spectrum, so many animals with different visible spectrums either see very weird things in the tv, or blackness (yes, your cats and dogs cannot really see what the shit you staring at in your screen, and they think you are weird for it but they love you anyway, unless you have an old tube tv thats it)
What that can't be right? You see video's all the time of cats and dogs tracking the movement of an animal on a tv nature documentary. Heck I put videos of mice on my tablet and my cat loves watching that.
@@Parasolhyena They dont see exactly what you see. As far as you know they only seeing a colored shape move in a mostly black screen, doesnt mean they see anything even close to similar to what you are seeing or that they are reacting to it in the way they do because of what you see and not just becasue of very basic shape recognition. They dont see the same frequencies of light we do, although we share some. Older tvs can be seen by them perfectly simply because the image isnt shown in selective frequencies like newer are by design. Its not a "cant be right" it is a "its what it is",you dont know what your pets or those in vids really see, its already hard to say we humans see the same things visually, straight away impossible to tell the same from other species. That is also why this game says the black box thing, its saying the creature cant see the frequencies of light the tv shows, and so he only sees people staring at a black screen (my guess is the dev studies or is into zoology or something of the kind given other stuff he dwells on about the creature behavior)
They'll certainly see the color differently from us, yes, but cats and dogs do see TV. They have a different color spectrum, but the colors are the least important part to them, it's the shapes and patterns and movement. They notably can't see red-oranges, but that doesn't mean it's just black, it means that it's gray and muddy because they can still see the light but not the color of that light. Our screens are made up of red, blue, and green light because those 3 colors come together ontop of black to make white. They can't see red, but blues and greens are plenty to make out what's going on, people are color blind and many degrees of regular blindness and still watch TV.
Ive pointed out throu my second answer that yes dogs and cats can see "something", while in my first comment i was refering to animals in general. But, that they can see something doesnt mean, first, that they comprehend it because lots of stuff becomes invisible or strange without the diverse frequencies of light they cant see (saying "they dong see x color is very generalistic, although it caaaan be used in this situation albeit not completely correct, so i just prefer sticking to frequencies). Dogs perhaps understand it a bit more, but for the most part, they only see moving shapes that either they will ignore or find as a short lived entertainment. As humans we tend to confuse the reaction of other animals throu our personal lenses, because cognition and intelligence hardly can perceive anything different to itself. Animals arent stupid, but their reaction to stuff cant always be comprehended or explained under our perception, because they perceive different stuff, like the cat and the mouse exemple the first guy who responded made, the cat isnt seeing a mouse, its just seeing a thing that moves and that is entertaining, the dog may comprehend more complexe stuff, but for the most part its a lackluster and still confusing mess, and im pretty sure unless the dog has little to entertain itself and is barely ever allowed to interact with other dogs will it find much entertainment in the silly black box, because it cannot show it anything it doesnt already have. In many cases im pretty sure its sound that catches the attention of a dog the most anyway

Dude wrote three essays rather than just say "I was wrong"
The way the game starts off makes me think the monster just got back from a lovely holiday.
This game is terrifying and beautiful and I love it! We get to play as a worm too so we can get an answer to that age old question!
"Strange metal beasts and hideous structures made of trees, these bizarre things I had no language for. And then the construction contractors with their goddamn backhoes and pneumatic drills!"
LMAO JUST THE TITLE XD "i live under your house im coming in you have nice feet im at your bed i want them" IM DYING HAHAHAHAH your titles are halariously long but this one actually got me to laugh ty for that lol :)
Read the title as "I'm coming in you" and thought this was going to be a VERY different kind of game
*I'm so happy Manly Kun is at my house and Loves my Feet!*
I give you angry upvote, you owe me some unsee-juice

Title says Manly is coming in you, how do you feel about that?
📸🤨 ayo? you good?
This game doesnt scare me, but makes me sad. Anyone else?
Emotional damage

I’m kinda disappointed that Manly didn’t analyze why you get different endings from different choices. Unless they don’t have a clear causation connection, and the choices simply facilitate getting a different ending.
Going to be an amazing video like always!
whatever it is, it's at some level demonic, that sealing circle is in the style of the lesser key of solomon
This is a game about the life of the average foot fiend
Straight facts right here
This is like a breath of fresh air among AAA games(saying with monster's voice).
Perspective: You are the monster in a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode.
omg it's been so long since i had time to sit down and watch your videos, i love this type of games
Remember guys, if your tryna kill a monster, don’t forget the candles
i wont mind you living there as long as you never mention my feet ever again
The classic story. monster finds girl, monster falls in love, girls tries to kill monster, monster takes remains of girl to decorate new home.
Excited for this one Manly
Bruh

I really appreciate your videos, Manly. Thank you for uploading regularly. I literally look forward to them after I get home from work. Haha
Your voice would me amazing for reading scary stories to tell in the dark! The Art style kinda reminded me of it a bit!
I think it’s all AI generated :(
Manly is always playing theses games before everyone else does.
Ahhhhhh. When he considered dropping a skull off for her it was SO CUTE. AHHHHHH. 😍
Honestly, best RUclips channel name ever.
“I live in your house and I’m coming in you”
NO FREE TOES FOR YOU
I always love when manly uploads.
I love searching for the most obscure game ever that no one has ever heard of because I just know manly is always gonna have a video for it
i dont think the monster is small i think hes just crawling tbh
i really like this concept !! the laughing faces were really creepy though >
I was on board with living as a bone gnome until the second ending hinted more at what we were.
This took the "monster under my bed " into another level
Manly chooses the weirdest videos’ title names and it’s so funny to me😭
I would love to watch another game by whoever made this. I absolutely love it!
When the title reads "I'm coming in you"
*surprised pikachu face*
i had my phone set to "comfort view" blue light filter thing it changes the tint//color of the phone screen and ontop of this video the colors were more dingy brown green yellow. holy fuck it looks so good, it adds an extra layer to the creepiness
Same. It's almost. Sepia tone.
10:25 bro had to remind him self who he was lmao
Yeah, haha. I was wondering what that was about. At first I thought that he was about to end the video and finish it in a Part 2, but instead he just quickly said the introduction line for a second time in the middle of playing with no warning ("Hey there, this is ManlyBadAssHero"), and without missing a beat simply continued to play and narrate. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be for.
Can you imagine this monster stealing a Sneakerhead's collection of Jordan's lol? The horror.
The title made me double take for a second, not gonna lie.
when he bragged about his pebble collection i just had to go and get my own rocks and feel them up ngl
A tip to y'all: if a dangerous monster falls for you - play along, even if you don't like it, it's better than gruesomely dying, probably...
I love these little play as the monster games. The bookworm goblin under the house was fun to follow.
"There no one here, that good. I like being alone" this game know how to make introvert in a nutshell
The title of this video is exquisite
Man, no creepy monsters ever bring ME skulls. 😔
As a fellow Ohioan I can agree that we do live under Manly's house.
I think the monster isn't small, I believe he's on all fours.
manly this title is actually menacing
11:19 Minecraft villager noise💀
"I am coming in you"
Nice title, stands out to me.
The ritual part, and the symbols used.. I recognized where those where from.. The being you are supposed to be is not a random monster but a demon. A lesser demon but one none the less. ( Well, More like minor demon, calling it a lesser is like an insult to others of that level. )
Basically how it feels to live with an upstairs apartment neighbor
I imagined a rabid squirrel the entire time.
Did you hear about the murder last week at the campgrounds?
It was in tents.
:3
I can tell that many, if not all of these images, were generated in Midjourney
