A premium badger knot does not need to hang upside down. It needs a thorough warm water squeeze out and shake. It can air out standing up. (I've been making them for 20 years.) Never a problem... I'm getting ready to pass down the brush... just looking to see any sanitizing needs for it.
I've never seen a badger or boar hang upside down to dry out.

The simplist way is hair condition! Work the conditioner into the brush, rinse and come.

Good cleaning tips, but a stand is not necessary. Why do you think shaving brushes have flat ends on the handle.
Yes, it is important to allow your brush to completely dry out before its next use, and that's why its a good idea to have another brush that you can alternate between (if you ave natural hair brushes). Obviously with a synthetic brush, there is less need for a second brush to alternate between, as synthetic brushes dry very quickly.

nope i mean you have to rinse it it well and and let it dry after every use but depends how many brushes u have and how often you use them i would say if u only have 1 brush and u shave twice a week i would say anywhere between once a month or every 2-3 months

If your rinse it out really good... squeeze out the soap ... warm water. You should have very little build up... if any. So, no you do not need to clean it like this every time.
I don't understand why people won't clean them well as they use it? I make badger hair brushes... for 20 years. The knots alone can cost any where from $20- $50 dollars. Then you've got to pay the person making it. Why wouldn't you take care of it?
