My wife’s reunion has been there for 52 years. We also camp there and love it. It’s the first weekend in August and the rain is always there with us. When is your reunion? Maybe we can meet up one year and I’ll buy you a beer!
Falls Creek Falls is a little over an hour south of where I live. As a motorcyclist and RVer in the past, and now back into cruising on the TN River near Knoxville, I can really relate to your travels. Very enjoyable! Thanks to you and your fellow travelers!
Cool to see all the familiar places at the Falls. Grew up there. Did you all miss the other falls(Cane creek, cascades,..)? Or just not film at those?

You would love the trails at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois and all of the history there ..Located between Chicago and Davenport,Iowa south of Interstate 80 on the Illinois river ..Ny home area ...LOL

My Mom is from the area. I have been going to FCF all my life on vacations from near Lubbock TX.
AND, at the 8:40 mark, my sister and two cousins are in your video at the high falls overlook before you hike down!!!
I was excited to see this post because I was there at FCF the first week of June 2022.
My cousin is currently the Host at the restaurant at the hotel.
Another cousin was the Golf Pro for years at FCF and is now retired.

Cool video. I have lived in this area my whole life and worked at FCF while in college. Great video and accurate except it is not in the smoky mountains, it is on the Cumberland Plateau. My mom and cousins are in your video at the 8:40 mark.

Fall Creek Falls is not in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is a State Park about 4-hours west and in Middle Tennessee, not East Tennessee. I think you misspoke. I haven't been to the new resort. While the original resort was very old, I miss the original resort's rustic charm. To all of the loyal employees, I hope your jobs weathered the controversial rebuild. Thanks for sharing, Bobby.
The old lodge also had a decent, functioning restaurant, which is more than I can say for the new one.
I would argue more material comfort less connection with nature, but pure pleasure brother! Haha congrats and thanks for the vids!

I live about 60 miles from fall creek falls...I used to ride my motorcycle there a lot when I was a teenager...
I live about 50 minutes (on the road) from Fall Creek Falls in McMinnville. I too have had an interesting aviation life (I've been flying since BEFORE I was born. Literally) Steph, you make Bobby give me a holler next year and I'll take you flying over the falls and around middle Tennessee if you like. It's beautiful from the air.

Whitewater Falls in Transylvania county N.C. is the tallest waterfall of it's type east of the rockies....according to google.
Fun Fact ...They have a big valve upstream and can turn the falls on or off anytime.
Yeah. Fall Creek Falls is fed by water from the lake.

I been there 100 of times because my dad a place not to far from it. I have read that two people have jump off that falls and lived but had to be rescue out of the bottom.
I was working there that day. Two girls fell from the top. One died upon impact, the other lived but was seriously injured.

Fall Creek Falls is a a state park, and not in Great Smoky Mountains, which is a Federal Park. GRSM is in East Tennessee whereas Fall Creek Falls is in Middle Tennessee. 👍

Hmmmmm. I guess you're not counting Crabtree Falls in the George Washington National Forest in Nelson County, Virginia. It's over 1000 feet tall in total and has a single plunge that's over 400 feet.

I wish more restaurants had a limited menu. When there is so many choices I question the freshness and food safety of of how their food was prepared.and pre-made /frozen.

Actually. The tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi is right here in Western North Carolina. White water falls. It is 811 feet. 411 foot is in North Carolina and 400 foot in lower falls in South Carolina. You should look it up. Crabtree falls in Virginia is the tallest waterfall cascades east of the Mississippi. There is a difference between a waterfall and cascades. Fun fact
At 256’ it is the tallest free fall waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains.
