      And function gives result only when it meet all conditions. If any condition is not met with then it will not show result.

    Hi, your video is really informative and easy to understand. But what if I have another scenario whereby my match involves exact match and approximate match? How to perform both match type together under 1 index and match function. Are we able to achieve that? I tried before but I couldn't get it as I want to be able to use this formula in any excel version.

    • @RJSivakumar
      @RJSivakumar  11 месяцев назад

      Excel is really amazing one, which can provide multiple solution for one issue, For complex formulas need to use CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER. To get exact match use 0 as exact match and 1 for approximate match.

    What if you had a criteria that was a data validation dropdown element?

    • @RJSivakumar
      @RJSivakumar  Год назад

      Creating dependent drop down list is best option for results.

  • @farooqtahir538
    @farooqtahir538 2 года назад

    So what is the advantage when we have to select every thing from drop down list

    • @RJSivakumar
      @RJSivakumar  2 года назад

      Remembering all criterias is very difficult, so better to use drop-down for getting multiple results based on requirements.

    What to do , if i want to make the date as "Less than", how to express in the formula?
    Thanks

    • @RJSivakumar
      @RJSivakumar  2 года назад

      Thank you for your query, use < symbol for getting less than date. Every date has value so use that value for example 1 means 1/1/1900.

    • @RJSivakumar
      @RJSivakumar  2 года назад

      Ok, first start with if conditional formula with price reference

  • @B2leave

    I can only assume that this isn't compatible with earlier versions of Excel, because it doesn't work for me at all.

    =INDEX(G2:G15;MATCH(I2&J2K2&L2;INDEX(A2:A15&C2:C15&D2:D15&E2:E15;0);0))
    In this case, CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER is no longer used.
