Isn't 18g wire be to large for your average pierced ear hole? I had that issue with a pair of earrings that I made and gave to my mom and she couldn't wear them cos they hurt when she wore them. I remade them with 20g wire and those were much better for her and didn't hurt.

Hi...19 , 20 g with half hard , or 21 hard wire.
