Roy: I’m not a trouble maker
Also Roy: I went back there with a hammer.
These videos are unintentional comedy gold
Be fair...he hadn't been in trouble for months!
Where’d you find that
Over ere
Well I’m over ere
He maintained his physical fitness right the way up to his late 60s and had the physique of a man half his age in this documentary. Pure muscle
Liam, looking back at all the vids you’ve posted, forget the smartass comments, I think you’ve recorded a period in our history which I find fascinating and we’ll never witness again. Also, watching some of your other vids you’ve got this ability to ‘blend’ in with the proceedings where many would fail miserably thus giving us all access to the true characters behind the larger than life personalities. I realise as you get older how important it is to record life and I’m really pleased you have as some of these guys aren’t with us any longer. Thank you.
That's a really nice comment - i think the whole point of filming people is to find out about them - it's not about me so I've tried to do exactly as you say 'blend in' - hopefully my film stuff is interesting to people & I appreciate you watching cheers
who misses them really...only dopes like you.
There is no way he's forgotten about that bouncer 😭
This was after he published his ground breaking work on quantum gravity.

@Billy Banton lots of people are stupid. There's no time to list them all here unfortunately.
@NYHC1000 Einstein's theories were of great influence to the development of the A bomb. I'm not sure exactly how much damage and devastation Roy Shaw could cause but it's probably not comparable with Hiroshima. Also, it's been said that 2 out of 3 times a Lenny McLean can stop a Roy Shaw but had the Japanese attempted to use McLean to defend Nagasaki the result would have been much the same.
He was a hard man with old school principles. A one man band. Legend. RIP.
He was a sociopath with the mind of a child.
Imagine walking home and seeing Roy Shaw hiding behind a bin with a hammer.
I was just walking home when suddenly i just shit me self at the sight of this musclebound man with a crazed look in his eyes holding a hammer snarling at me.
A proper gentleman, who lived his life honestly and admitted to his faults with and dignity, that only proper upfront blokes act. My grandad was a tough honest bloke who'd do anything to support and help his family, my dad told me my grandad would do a 12 hour shift in the coalmine, and take anyone one bare knuckle fights to make extra money, a tough man in a tough era . and I will always respect him
Gentlemen that’ll bash you with a hammer if you cross him
😂
Roy makes a fair, cogent legal point.
The 'ammer is over there and I am over here. That's good enough for me Roy.
NOT GUILTY !
Roy was found not guilty on all charges of 'Asselment
Isleofskye Evans Halshaw could of sorted that for him though.
Storm in a tea cup was ROY. Miss him loads. RIP ROY many like him no one compares…”WHOS THE GUVNOR”. 😎
ffs will you wake up
Sounds like my son telling me a story when he's getting a telling off
Brilliant! The more I listen the better it gets 😂😂
Pure gold
00:43 I don't care what anyone says, I'll never give this bloke any "hasslement."
Never mind in his prime....this is a man that even as a pensioner could beat up most tough guys half his age!
No matter how many fights he loses he just keeps coming back for more.
This lad looks like a cross between Benedict Cumberbatch and the old street sweeper from Home Alone
Just don’t piss him off.....
Roy Shaw: ‘So hard even his nightmares were frightened of him’. RIP. (Not my line, but perfect nonetheless)
I miss this man great fighter unbelievable R.I.P Roy 'Pretty Boy' Shaw 1936-2012
I used to watch this on Bravo channel 26 with my Dad💙 & I would buy him the books at Xmas miss him soooooo much xx

One of the last few real mean men, now gone - RIP Roy, you wont be forgotten. Respect
lorenzo magazzeni yeah, real men always go out of their way to crack doormen’s head open for doing their job. Foh.
There's a touching honesty in his eyes.
A man to be trusted, but not crossed.
He is lying mate. I know you’ll think this is some bullshit internet troll but the bouncer was my dad. Lee chapman. My dad beat the shit out of him and threw him in the bushes. It was a one on one fight, they got my dad to deal with him. Obviously Roy wasn’t in his prime he was around 60. But this is a bullshit story to save face, sorry to break it to you
That 'touching honesty in his eyes' is a sign of his total fucking madness for christs sake! I just don't understand how so many people can piss up this madmans back calling him amongst other things ' a true gent', 'good guy', perfect gentleman', etc etc. Truth is, he was a total nutjob that ended up in Broadmoor .... you know, that prison for the criminally insane!

Another gutless wonder who was only any good with a weapon. If you watch his bare knuckle fights like all of them he is an embarrassment, they would & the few that did take on pro boxers in legit fights got their blown up, swinging from the opening bell asses knocked out.

It is natural... wat would you do? GRASS to the pigs?
Hi tbf Roy beat one of America's top heavyweight title contendors and won and there arent many people who would get im the ring with a prime steroid filled lenny mcleans thats for sure. His technique sucked but he was a hard bastard thats for sure.
PMSL when he said that. Good lad.
How many fights have you had??????
You can see it in his eyes.... a genuine HARD bastard. From what I know he's not even 6 foot, so you gotta give him credit for that... the bloke could obviously punch on like 10 men.
No way I would have ever gotten smart with him.
R.I.P Roy Shaw.
haha wered you find that .. over there.. well I'm over here lol hahaha quality humour
One hard bastard, his story is much more believeable than lennys, plus the size difference between them never made for a fair boxing match.
What's fair got to do with it

Scot's are tough, but sadly as scottish mother's deep fry their own nipples soon after childbirth, and the average Jock consumes 18 litres of saturated fat per week; all fights that last over 12 seconds in Scotland prove fatal due to cardiac arrest or stroke.

I know your comment is a year old but this is from my dad directly (Lee chapman)
Modern London is so fucked up.
I'd rather it was still dominated by people like this and the Krays, rather than today's moped gangs, foreign mafias, Yardies, and "innit bruv" roadmen (with names like Martell and Dushayne) barely out of short trousers who shoot each other over a 50p drug debt or a stolen bike and don't care about innocent people getting caught in the crossfire.
Serious crime is rife all across London these days. In those days, you didn't really notice too much unless you were directly involved.
Basically this story was nothing happened. I was going to do him but I didn’t.
The perfect gentlemen . Never swears or raises his voice . But hard as nails x10 .
At least he matured as he got older.
roy shaw always seems to be a good guy and even though he is a hardman, he was not a bully
I beg to differ. My neighbour in Walthamstow was punched by Shaw back in the late 70's in a pub in Chingford. It was a case of mistaken identity. He was never the same after that. Please don't comment on people that you don't know. These criminals are not saints, heroes or legends as people so wrongly put it.
I was up in the VIP lounge in Romford that night with my old pal big Trevor shelton, Trevor was 6"6 and a black belt in judo, hard man. Roy squared up to us then thought better of it. He was off his head on ginseng and brandy . Nasty man he was make no mistakes
Then you must know my dad Lee battered him right and this story from Roy is fabricated?
The fight was the weekend after
Frank Spencer on steds and sniff.
"Who's 'ammer's this, Frank? Oooooh Betty, the cat's done a woopsie on me 'ammer"
Admittedly, would anyone mocking him on here say it to him in real life, away from a keyboard?
I don't understand all the Danny Dyer types that worship all these 'proper villains', but unlike most of the big names at least Roy Shaw and Lenny McLean were man enough to step in the ring and actually fight.
Big Respect to Mr Roy Shaw
Proper hardman! The guy from saarfend is one lucky bastard.. RIP. Roy Shaw.
Yeah, apart from the doorman you refer to, Lee Chapman, was a 22 stone giant of a man who left Shaw in the bushes outside the club. Roy Shaw was undoubtedly a tough man, but he could never admit defeat just like he could never accept McLean knocked fuck out of him
My band played a gig hollywoods one night. The support band had an almighty scrap with the bouncers. Ironically the support band was called Gangland!
I was brought up in walthamstow you got to know the men to respect very quickly or you paid the price but at the end of the day they were gentleman and if you showed them respect they gave it back unlike today's kids
Totally true! Kids today would melt in the presence of old school ways!
Roy’s got that look you can’t tell if he’s angry surprised happy or thinking
I love these videos of Norman wisdom
I am not no troublemaker haven't had a fight for age's. Don't know why but could listen to Roy Shaw all day
Yes Roy absolute Sturdy Unit! They flappped it thinking they could do Roy😁😁😁😁🚵
The eyes have it that's a 1000 yard stare if ever I saw one not one to be messed with, saw a fight between him and lenny McLean on you tube he's quite a character too, Rip both of them.
Mr Shaw is a proper bloke.
Hats of to him.
It was the governor of the hardest prison in England who said Roy Shaw was THE strongest, most able and violent prisoner he had ever seen...when he would lose his temper and tap into a pure primeval rage and start throwing 12 big prison guards about the place along with their weapons n shields...considering Roy was just a middle weight, he truly must have been the definition of formidable when his temper was out of control...
Stuart Stuart I don't think he was a middleweight.middleweights are 11 and half stone.roy was a 15 stone ball of muscle and immensly powerful.
"So I went up the police station and spoke to them and said don't start singling me out and giving me hasslement."
Roy Shaw's got it all: the looks, the brains and the empathy.
And the Irish Jig
Yep, the looks of a man baby with Downs Syndrone, the brains of a lobotomised neanderthal, and the empathy of a serial killer who flays his victims and wears their skin.

@@matrich1983 you're never nice to the other team
I ain't gonna speak ill of Roy Shaw as I said earlier in the comments I never new him and he is passed away. What I will say is the doorman in question - Lee Chapman is certainly no mug and a very very capable man, Lee was a decent Judo player and also a decent strongman competitor. In his peak he was easily 22 stone , I have heard as much as 27 stone of muscle not fat. Plus I have seen him in action and despite being a unit of a man he was extremely fast . They say never judge a book by it's cover ........ But if people commenting saw Lee walking down the street I think they may think differently. There are always 2 sides to a story
The other thing I liked about Lee , he was a lone ranger he didn't need any one and he didn't need to have an entourage of arse lickers around him worshipping him and calling him a legend 😂
I know this is a year old and I’ve made some other comments on this video but I’m just letting you know I sent my dad (Lee) a screenshot of this comment. Could I ask your name and see if he remembers you? I can even get you in contact with him if you want to have a catch up.
I was there on the door that night and Lee cremated him. He released himself from hospital when he woke up. That’s why it was 4 am when he came back with a hammer. The club closed a two !!

Very hard and very dangerous - slashed the throat of a old mate who turned grass and spoke about it as if it were normal, then again he spent time in Broadmoor. Must be said he wasn't a bully, his actions were against those who lived by the same code. No fear whatsoever, he was wired different to the majority.

I know few if anyone will know what I am talking about..But there is an innocence to Roy.. I am not saying he is soft. Clearly he is a hard man. Many see the devil in his eyes. I see a child. Something sad about him deep down..He seems like a genuinely nice chap. And I don't say that about many so called gangsters.

McClean's book is biased, full of lies and exaggerated. Roy's is as honest as could be. One seriously hard bastard WITHOUT cheating with steroids to make him bigger and stronger. I am quite a good fighter but would not have a chance in hell against Roy. He was old and slow by the time he fought McClean the 2nd and 3rd times, and McClean was 100% on gear.
