You can check the ph with “red cabbage, water, a pot, a glass, and a glass. (And a stove of course) all you got do is … cut red cabbage into small pieces, boil it in water, then strain the liquid. Add a small amount of the boiled cabbage liquid to a glass of water, and observe the color change to determine the pH level. The pigment in the glass should turn red in acidic environments with a pH less than 7.

You can you just need to be very careful about it. I’ve done it in the past for a saltwater tank. Figure out what the main root cause is. Back then I used too much crushed coral. It was my first saltwater tank many years ago

I'm new fo having fish and the pet store said my ph lol was a little higher than it should. I think there's to many fish in the tank. My brother in law gave my daughter all of his fish. It could have been his water too. We are thinking we should rehome a few of them.
We have 2 tanks set up 1 10g 1 30g. In the 10g we have 4 albino Cory's 1 7" or bigger pleco(I'm thinking we need to rehome him even though we love him) and 1 other catfish like fish. I just added the smaller catfish because of his behavior had me worried. He's acting a little more normal. In the 30g there is 2 small angels(I'd like to rehome them to I feel like it's to small for them. ) 5 little orange and black fish, 3 albino Cory's, 1 catfish with horns on its head. He's 3". 1 spiny catfish , and another sail fin like fish. 15 in this tank Both tanks are fairly fresh though. One cycled for a day with 50% of the water they were in before. Thr other was up fir a week cycling with 25% of the old water from their tank.
It depends on the type of fish. I have a blog post about this that I’ll be making a video of. Here is the blog post - aquariumstoredepot.com/blogs/news/aquarium-water-hardness
Great and interesting video...The content of the video is very informative for those who are interested in facts about pH in aquariums ...Thank you for sharing this video with us......
It depends on the fish you are keeping, but most tropical fish prefer slightly acidic and softer water. The video went through reasons why pH changes and how to lower it if you need to
Thank you sooooo much. I got 2 goldfishes yesterday. But they needed to be in low pH water aquarium. I was hella confused. After going on RUclips and searching regarding my problem, luckily I found your video. Very understandable, proper sound and video quality got me known EVERYTHING about the water's pH thing. Now I can do my settlement with my fishes. Only thanks to you ❤️
Saltwater aquariums are different. You shouldn't use things like driftwood. If your pH is high you could be using crushed coral or your salinity could be too high (mixing too much reef salt). You may need to remove some crushed coral to get the pH down. pH also drops at night if you are asking about stability. That is usually managed with a controller.

How big is the tank and how many fish are there?

what is the appropriate GH and KH?

Great and interesting video...The content of the video is very informative for those who are interested in facts about pH in aquariums ...Thank you for sharing this video with us......
So basically fish waste, ammonia and CO2 lowers pH below tolerance and we have to bring it up to around 7 with these methods. Or I got it wrong ?
It depends on the fish you are keeping, but most tropical fish prefer slightly acidic and softer water. The video went through reasons why pH changes and how to lower it if you need to
9:30 I'm no expert but i think that a pleco and that giant fish are a bit too big for that tank...
4:11 that is one weird looking Pleco
Oh that’s a bristle nose pleco. It’s actually a great smaller pleco to keep.
Just leave Ph alone. Stable is better.
Some specific soft water fish requires lower Ph of 6.7 like the discus. Higher Ph puts this fishes in stress.
You talk way too much trying to be cute.. Just get to the point.
This is an older video - cut straight to the point on newer vids

Glad I could help!
9:30 wtf is this?! The owner of this tank should go to jail. Unless this is a quarantine or something.
Rainwater harvesting to cheaply replace reverse osmosis water.
Does it work for saltwater aquariums
