The timing is perfect because I was just talking about how my ego makes me do things instead of wanting to live.
My ego wants to be praised. But it has to die because I can’t let it control me.
My ego want to be at the center of everything, but it won’t allow me to experience this life freely.
It won’t let me serve God. It will never be fulfilled.
So you’re right: the ego has to die.

When you go through trying times, this video popped up in my recommendations. I put this on while playing Ghost of Tshushima and running around getting collectibles and this is perfect. Have not fully read the book of Proverbs in my life either but this has stood out and has helped me and my relationship with God. Thank you for this video!

I wrote an essay of a reply about my understanding of the differences in pride, being proud, humility, etc. And theres a chance someone might have use of it so 🤷🏿‍♀️:
Being prideful and having confidence are different. Even when they look the same on the outside, the posture of the heart is vastly different. This is why He is the judge of the heart, not just the outside.
Pride is held up by a sense of entitlement that believes itself to deserve a certain result, on some grounds, logical or not. Logical does not necessarily mean right. If you plant 100 seeds and end up with 100 beautiful flowers, pride credits yourself foremost, your foresight, your skill, your decisions and your mind behind them, for the beauty that has come forth. "Why wouldn't they be this beautiful? Why shouldn't they be this beautiful?"
Being proud of oneself is, in its purest state, a bi-product of appreciation, faith, and proper perspective. If this person plants 100 seeds and they grow into 100 beautiful flowers, they will, in posture of heart and fundamentally, thank God foremost, in acknowledgement that they empowered neither the ground nor the seed with the power to yield life in this way. Even their faculties to experience the flowers' beauty they will be grateful for as blessings. "I am proud -more appropriately~ honored, to have been the means by which God has revealed the beauty of these flowers."
A child who is proud of their drawing is proud/happy that they could be the means by which something beautiful was brought forth. "Look at what I can bring about!" While this child is "proud of themself," there is a sense of innocence and discovery to it, not entitlement. The aspect of expectation makes this dynamic harder to navigate as we age, but fundamentally, as we remain God's children, it remains: "Blessed am I to have experienced this." It credits the journey, "I got here," but does not credit the self, "I got myself here." The beauty brought forth is an allowance, not a logical obligation.
This purity and self-distance, the ability to say, "I didn't do that, don't thank me," this acknowledgement that without God's own intervention there would be no flowers at all, is true humility. This person understands themselves as "the means by which," but never "the power by which".
They also aren't self-deprecating either, as humility is often mistaken to be. They belive themselves firmly loved by God, and they trust they are valuable because He believes so. Pridefulness brute forces this value, anchoring it in oneself. Unwillingness to root your value in someone else's love for you is understandable, that's... scary to do -God is the Only One worthy or capable of bearing that~ but the alternative is exhausting and self-erecting. "God can love or not love me, because I love myself." It is characterized by the rejection of the idea that we need love from an outside source -though we were designed with this need~ and it takes many forms. Of course this self-reliance has trouble facilitating a soft heart. "It doesn't matter how you feel about my flowers because I love them." (Logical) The base desire for others to admire and appreciate your flowers (like a child showing their drawing) bears no vulnerability or warmth, because the individual does not want to be hurt or rejected. Instead of, "I am proud of my flowers! Enjoy them with me!", it becomes a more cold and calculated "I and my flowers deserve your acknowledgement and approval on these grounds, thusly if you don't like them you are a fool." Perhaps even accompanied by "Don't look at those, look at these."
Perhaps the most complex, interesting, and beautiful part of this- if both of these people bring their 100 flowers to the market, behave exactly the same way on the outside and say to everyone, "look at my flowers", they will be saying two different things. The prideful one will be saying, "Look what I did! Could you hope for someone else to bring flowers so beautiful?" And the humble one will be saying, "Look what happened! Look at the beauty that God has brought forth!" In the same act one glorifies themself, and the other glorifies God.
(By that measure I would say that they are both "confident". Their confidence is simply rooted in different things. Believing that God will bless and work through you is a form of self-confidence, but it is more fundamentally an extension of Faith)

AY KDOG, you are NOT MESSED. God has good thoughts towards you, so start to believe good thoughts! The Word says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts, that I have thought towards you, saith the Lord, even the thoughts of peace, and not of trouble, to give you an end, and your hope."
God, the thoughts you have towards Kdog are good thoughts, thoughts to give them PEACE and not trouble. May Kdog realise these thoughts O God and walk in them.
God, KDog is feeling restless too, but Your Word says in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Guard KDog's heart O God and their mind Father, help them to always pray Lord, because in Philippians 4:6, Your Word says, "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Help KDog to not be anxious and when they find themselves anxious, help them to pray and swarm them with Your Peace in Jesus' Name, AMEN! Love you KDOG :D

What I'm about to write doesn't come from a place of rebellion or hate, I'm genuinely curious to hear people's opinions. To me, the Bible, particularly the New Testament, seems like a massive psy-op. You're supposed to basically let your rulers and even normal citizens do to you whatever they want. You're not supposed to fight back. You're supposed to forgive and forget. It makes weakness, obedience, and submissiveness virtues. All for the promise of an afterlife, the existence of which the Bible itself says we can not truly be sure of. It's the biggest gamble known to man.

why be humble when you have all the tools to back up that brimming confidence; and if your doing it with a good heart is pride bad in this circumstance? Lemme hear someone’s opinion just yes or no

I think it’s good to be humble even if you are “well off” because everything you are given came from God. So if God has given you your blessings he can surely take it away.

Answering just yes or no is impossible here, becuase you have placed humility in opposition to "the tools to back up that brimming confidence". Additionally "a good heart" can mean anything, and pride must be defined whenever it's discussed, because there are still some who don't know what it is.

Humility is best seen as “allowing yourself to be put in your place by God” or “being in right order with God”. It’s less about having the attitude that says “guys I’m really not that great” when you’re clearly the best at something. It’s more about not taking the apple before your time and assuming yourself into Gods place and instead allowing god to elevate you as he sees fit
