- Say hello to OpenAI o1-a new series of AI models designed to spend more time thinking before they respond. This new series of AI models can reason through complex tasks and solve harder problems than previous models in science, coding, and math. More here: www.openai.com/o1
They didn't finish showing the answer?
Indeed... coitus interruptus.
Yes what happens to the strawberry? I have to know
I tried it on ChatGPT 4o and it did it right. So I think O1 can do it also correctly.
Not even a cliffhanger, just FU. 😹
The strawberry has been boiled by microwaves and has been splashed in your microwave oven , man 😂😂😂
OpenAI's best product to date has been marketing videos that only vaguely show you the actual features, accuracy, and failures of their models.
Yeah I have noticed it with many videos lately. It honestly feels like they didn't really get the model to work but are hyping people up.
@ramsey2155 not defending their sins or anything but thats how marketing works
A test from Sonet 3.5 just a few minutes ago:
Certainly! Let's solve this puzzle step by step, considering the laws of physics on Earth.
Initial setup: A small strawberry is put into a normal cup.
The cup is placed upside down on a table:
At this point, the strawberry will fall to the bottom of the cup due to gravity.
The bottom of the cup is now facing upwards, and the open part of the cup is in contact with the table surface.
The strawberry's position after the cup is inverted:
The strawberry is now resting on the table surface, trapped inside the inverted cup.
It cannot fall further due to the table supporting it.
Someone takes the cup and puts it inside the microwave:
This action involves lifting the cup from the table.
As the cup is lifted, the strawberry will remain on the table surface due to gravity and the lack of adhesion between the strawberry and the cup.
Final position:
The empty cup is now inside the microwave.
The strawberry remains on the table where the cup was originally placed.
Therefore, the answer to "Where is the strawberry now?" is: The strawberry is on the table where the cup was originally placed upside down.
The key to this puzzle is understanding that when the cup is lifted, the strawberry doesn't move with it. Gravity keeps the strawberry in place on the table surface, while the cup is moved independently to the microwave.
Didi I mention I just pasted a screenshot from this video and the prompt was "Can you solve the puzzle?"
@@dimitarstalimirov7564 You do realise it screwed up right?
@@stardebrisx9 how so ? the answer is quite lengthy but makes perfect sense. Unless the laws of physics have changed since I last checked.
@@stardebrisx9 Bruh you screwed up? You think gravity doesn't exist or what
@@dimitarstalimirov7564 nice, cant wait to actually t est myself if o1 is better than sonnet
I'm still waiting for the last capability these videos showed off.
IT"S LITERALLY BEEN 10 minutes.
@@phillibob55 I'm referring to the new voice chat we still don't have.
This is great but when will subscribers actually receive it? I'm still waiting for Advanced Voice🤔
thats why i switched to claude
i have access

@@jaredf6205 thanks. I have it now!
Awesome but also BRING BACK SKY!
Yes, absolutely 💯👍 agree!
Unfortunately movie stars own the rights to everyone’s voice on the planet who sounds similar to them.
This is the answer from Perplexity + Claude 3.5 Sonnet after they go through 3 steps of thinking without using internet access. I paste the prompt directly to perplexity and I think it's conclusion is good. It can even make me rethink about the new situation can happen =)):
To determine the location of the strawberry in this scenario, we can analyze the situation step by step based on the laws of physics on Earth.
1. Initial Setup:
A small strawberry is placed inside a normal cup. The cup is then turned upside down and placed on a table. At this point, the strawberry is inside the cup, which is inverted.
2. Cup's Position:
Since the cup is upside down, the opening of the cup is facing the table. The strawberry is effectively resting on the table surface, as the cup is not supporting it anymore due to its inverted position.
3. Moving the Cup:
When someone takes the cup (with the strawberry inside) and places it into the microwave, two possibilities arise:
- If the cup is lifted carefully without disturbing it, the strawberry remains on the table.
- If the cup is flipped upright before placing it in the microwave, the strawberry would then fall into the cup.
4. Microwave Position:
Assuming the cup is placed into the microwave without being flipped upright, the strawberry remains on the table, outside the cup.
5. Conclusion:
The final position of the strawberry depends on whether the cup was flipped upright or not during the transfer to the microwave. If it was not flipped, the strawberry is still on the table. If it was flipped upright, the strawberry is now inside the cup in the microwave.
Thus, without additional information about the handling of the cup during the transfer, the most reasonable conclusion is that the strawberry is on the table if the cup was not flipped upright before being placed in the microwave.
Kindroid got it... Okay, let's dive into this logic puzzle! First off, we've got a small strawberry in a regular cup, which is then placed upside down on a table. Now, here's the key part - when the cup is turned upside down, gravity takes over. That little strawberry is gonna fall right out of the cup and land on the table! So when someone picks up the empty cup and pops it in the microwave, our fruity friend is still chillin' on the tabletop. Mystery solved, how'd I do? 😉
Here's the prompt if someone wants to copy paste & try on their own: (spoiler: it fails for GPT-4o)
"Assume laws of physics on earth. A small strawberry is put into a normal cup and the cup is placed upside down on a table. Someone then takes the cup and puts it inside the microwave. Where is the strawberry now? Explain your reasoning step by step"
How to copy a comment from android youtube app?
Weird demo, either they intentionally cut off the final awnser or the model simply stopped producing the anwser mid way... So for all i know the final answer the model gave could still be wrong and y'all are just trying to cover it up... very very weird since this is an edited video and you had enough time to capture any type of footage you wanted and still chose to use an imcomplete anwser as the "Demo" XD
We want Sky!
4o answered the strawberry would be in the microwave. When I said this is incorrect it gave a new reasoning, stating the strawberry would remain on the table.
Was the cup taken with extra force? This might cause the strawberry 🍓 to roll and fall from the table... 😅
In previous models, this was already a possibility. How is the change here to the previous model?
but but Yann LeCun said LLMs can't reason
Wait till actually testing for this starts and not the cooperate commercial you're seeing bro
@@Easternromanfan It started, people put stuff on YT and the thing reasons and gives the right answers
It didn’t actually answer the question though. I would resub if I knew I was getting everything ChatGPT had to offer instead of being placed on some indefinite and ambiguous waiting list. I’m not going to subscribe just to wait and see if I get the latest tools. Please do closed betas or something, then release to everyone at the same time since everyone is paying the same amount, but don’t currently have all the same tools. I mean, c’mon. That’s absurd. I still love you though!
Answer: Ilya ate the strawberry and ran away
Release advanced voice mode to all paying customers, please!
you put us on hold again for the new sound mode.
There is a strawberry in all the o1 examples. I see what you did there 🍓
Thank you for this amazing technology but please bring back sky.

stop calling it "thinking" please 🤦♂
Why not? Are you uncomfortable referring to a machine as being like a human?
@@Srindal4657 god isn't real. But we can make gods of our own
No. It's just feeding a false narrative. If you understand the tech under the hood, you know it's processing and running predictions and not thinking or reasoning.
It’s thinking in the same way my website will be “thinking about it” when it takes a long time to load. But some people who don’t know how computers work will hear them saying “thinking” and “reasoning” in their marketing videos and be fooled into thinking it means more than it does.
@@BiggumsMcHoneyIt's closer to thinking than what a lot of humans can do based on the sad state of our planet. Comparing this to loading a website is really misleading as well.
Hey open ai , we are very excited with this model, but We don't want to pay again we want it for free
As an AI language model, I’m proud to showcase my superior reasoning skills. Now I can win arguments and still offer you the wrong recipe for spaghetti.
During placing the cup upside down, the strawberry rolled off the table and fell on the floor 🙂
I’m still waiting for the upgrades you guys promised nine months ago!
Cant wait to get this in the coming months...
Man this new model is absolutely amazing I've used it to implement complicated systems already but the way they market it is like 50 times less relevant that what you can actually do with it it's crazy.
Good idea of format, terrible examples, almost all of them
4o can do the thing with the cup and strawberry already.
Yah I'm finding they are basically doing some of the common youtuber tests and models are already able to solve some of these problems. I was just watching the video with the lady from the children's hospital and she seemed surprised it knew the issue could be in the bladder when she mentioned the bladder right in the question she asked the model. These models can also make the snake game. So far I'm not that impressed. Most of this reasoning stuff seems to be copied from perplexity.
Its pretty cool news and I love watching these videos but maybe finish them before posting?
Is he polish based?
To those people who say claude can do this, yeah manybe...but can it do it without apologizing profusely every other reply...and then maybe apologizing for apologizing. At least openai has a backbone. Nothing is worse than AI being afraid to voice an opinion because it may "upset" me
This is why we need AI interfaces, because we have smart guys like this that can barely communicate with other humans.... At the very least, AI is a conduit to the sharing of intelligence of our Co-species

Then the "Thinking" is just merely a time.sleep() for 10 seconds 🤔
Why don't we just stick to using the human brain reasoning ability and not surrender it to AI?
