Awesome review- That M-18 search light you have in the back off the table turned out to one of my favorite lights! The light it throws is so pleasing to the eyes and super bright. Great stuff!

That haloop would be perfect for lighting a tipi style tent

I live in Austin, Tx and lost power this week. I used my Olights, Olantern, and Haloop and they were all great! This morning I was cutting branches down as our trees in Austin took a big hit from the weight of the ice. I easily used my pocketboy silky saw to clean up our yard(62 yo female here…). Love your content and knowledge!

Another good one is the Braun LED work light pucks from harbor freight. They were on sale before christmas and bought like 5 of them for 20 bux each. Already life savers on several blackouts and camp trips.

This isn't an inexpensive solution by any means but if you have the means and are really worried about this stuff . . . Have a load calc done on your house and buy a whole house generator with an auto transfer switch. I have a Generac 22KW and it can run the entire house just like the power company. My house is 3200 sq ft with 2 A/C units, 3 if you count the mini split in the garage. I'm in Florida and have lived through many hurricanes. I was without power for almost 2 weeks during Katrina or Wilma I forgot which. I made a promise to myself when I moved never again. I will not be without power. This was one of the best decisions we have ever made with regard to prep. The older Generac's had issues. The new ones are dialed in. They fixed all the issues and these just work period. I also have it monitored, maintained and Generac extends the warranty. The installers put you on priority should something happen as well. All peace of mind.

Great video. I have a lot of those cheap light from HF with a hook and magnet. I can stick them just about anywhere in my home.

Wow Doc! Milwaukee 9.0? That's like a collector's item... very rare and elusive 😆. But of course you would have one in your collection. I have the same M12 lantern, had it for years now, and it is a great light. I would recommend using the XC M12 batteries as it drains the smaller ones very fast.

Excellent Doc, as always. Sadly the official Milwaukee USB chargers aren’t available here in the UK - there’s some knock-offs but I don’t trust them.

Just go with the ryobi solutions, cheap long lasting batteries and extremely good lighting in a wide range of formats factors

I've had the M18 top off inverter. I've ran my rocket tripod light off of it for 9 hours straight

0:57 oh Doc, but ya know having a light that can fire off and light up an area a mile long and width o football stadium isn’t a bad thing to have in your “toolbox”, ok…garage, lol. Cuz never know when will need one of those tools.
Example, Hurricane Ian own here in FL, got out my Milwaukee rocket lights, jobsite lites, and work lighting and was able to help out tire block live in with s9me light to grill out as all our some are electric and means no cooking with gas, lol.
Had nice block party though, even when power came back on, we finished up than all went inside.
Negative is, everyone knows I have these and ya k 8w what that means….can we borrow a “tool”, lol

Think I might be needing one of those Haloop things...
Edit... but sadly, according to Olight it has 'built in' batteries... :(
