  • Of all the operating dark rides left in existence this is my personal favorite...The Haunted House in Ocean City,MD. This classic Bill Tracy designed ride is an absolute masterpiece and sums up everything I love about these classic dark rides.

My family has been riding this ride since the late 1970s and I have been riding it since the late 1990s! Not much has changed on this ride! So amazing!

Aha... so you remember the House of Horrors, Rocky Point Park you mentioned...
That was my childhood dark ride also lol... One of a kind, and the best Bill Tracy facade in my opinion.
Granted i was like 6 when the park closed, and the ride was way past it's glory days by the 90's,
But there are things i'll never forget. The grease track smell in the warm air,
the loud lift room with the huge castle mural, and of course the couple Tracy props that were left by then
    like the saw mill girl.
    RIP Rocky Point!

Trimpers should get on the ball and sell T-shirts and souvenirs for this beloved ride.

I end up rewatching your collection of haunted house videos when I need to find something to cheer me up from time to time, so thanks to you two.
I've been thinking about something I would really like to do, though I'm not sure how I'd even begin but perhaps you might be more capable of making a dream come true. I would love to make replicas of the various Bill Tracy stunts for collectors/dark ride nerds such as myself and you two for sure. What say you dear friends O mine?

Just was on this ride the end of April. Just like I do every time I'm in OC. BEEN DOING IT FOR 40 YEARS NOW.

I remember going on this with my mom when I was a kid. I begged to go in it but then hid my eyes the whole way through. The thing that really stuck out for me about this ride is the way the floor tilts as you're going through the upside-down room. I always thought that was a unique feature but yet in all the YT videos I've watched of this ride, no one ever talks about or even mentions it. This is the only haunted house I'm aware of where the cars tilt up like that. Am I the only one who finds this interesting?

Keep the Tracey props, maintain them, expand on them. But ditch the clowns and slashers and zombies. And chill with the black lights.

I have felt the same way friend. I have a good feeling that if Trimpers is able to get more and more Tracy stunts from more and more defunct rides were gonna eventually get the ultimate Bill Tracy dark ride of the ages. The Mega Ultra Tracy.
The IT, Annabelle and zombie stuff has been kinda shoe horned in, but on the other hand I have been giddy to see some amazing new things as well dear friends. Like areas where once was darkness has been filled in with designs that are reminiscent with the same aesthetic as the facade like around the Old mill stunt. This ride is the avatar of my youth. To be fair I get the feeling like the newer stuff is expiramental and it seems to me that the dark ride awesomeness is getting rediscovered and especially when I see that a new audience is now talking about Bill Tracy a lot, where for the longest time his name was barely spoken of by anyone outside of us Dark ride lunatics but now there's a lovingly painted sign is now proudly displayed in front of Trimpers now. Wild as hell to see friends. Also if anyone is interested, I've been working on a short story for some time now that gives a background story about Count Wolf Von-Vindersiens house and the origins of how it got Haunted in the first place! I'ma gonna be shutting up now. I only ramble out of love dear brothers and sisters. Be safe and look out for one another out there

Hello again friends, I'm not sure what you are doing anything, not this weekend but the next, but my birthday is on the 24th but since sunfestl is happening this weekend I will be going to Trimpers HH and if you are available to get to OC you're more than welcome to come and ride it with me and a small group of friends with me. Haha I realize that outside of some messages we have not actually met, but I still wanted to invite you to enjoy the greatest place in the world with me. It is a perfect excuse to ride the HH a few times before the season ends for z year. Hope that all is well with you friends!

The Wacky Shack, Pirate Ship, and Golden Nugget Mine ride in Wildwood had tons of Bill Tracey props and effects. Now THOSE were classic rides. Too bad the Morey morons took over the boardwalk......

I am always happy to see various random Bill Tracy stunts in almost every single dark ride of note in the US. Rehoboth's Haunted Mansion contains the classic "swamp ghost" as well as the bat in the mine part, Knoebles has the crazy lady in the beginning and a tombstone that reads B Tracy and Gillians Dark ride also spots a Bill Tracy tombstone as well. And there's a lot more examples displaying the most inspirational love and influence that Bill Tracy has had on so many people and attractions..
Last thing I want to say is a lyric that fits our dark ride patron Saint which says "Fare the well, Fare the well, I love you more than words can tell" Thanks for the greatest of memories brother!
