Die Hard With A Vengeance is my absolute favorite sequel out of all the sequels and I cannot wait for you two to see it! I also hope you love it as much as I do after you see it!

HARD is a classic, HARDER is okay, but HARD WITH A VENGEANCE is a masterpiece (with one nit-pick but no spoiler) Can't wait for you guys react to part III! It goes down from part 3!!
Seriously, that movie is a huge turd that insults everything that was great about the first two. Even suggesting that it's better than, or even remotely on par with, the second one should be liable for prosecution.
Hard 3 is easily the best of the franchise. DH2 is the turd. See you at the trial

I don't know which one is a masterpiece, but I liked 3 better than 2!
A lesser known fact: Except for the last one, all Die Hard films are based on literary works (novels & magazine article).

Hi Steph & Kristen!😊 Bruce Willis actually ad-libbed most of the one liners in the first film. Of course, they were very popular and added to this film as well. It is very hard to top Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) as a bad guy, so the first film is my favorite of the two.

When John says "Just the fax, ma'am, just the fax" to the airport clerk, he's doing a play on words. Joe Friday from the TV show (and movie) Dragnet used to say "Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts" when talking to an eyewitness about a crime that happened.

The Baker Ejection seat John McClane uses to get out of the C-130 transport is a "zero altitude" ejection seat but on some aircraft it requires a certain amount of air speed to clear the cockpit canopy & get a full chute. So it might or might not have worked in this instance.
It was a non-existent model of jet cargo plane. Most of the time it was a very large model, (Even the shot of it landing!) but close-ups used a heavily modified C-123 that couldn't fly.

fyi - the character Ed Trudeau -- air traffic control boss/airport boss was a sitting U.S. Senator for Tennessee - Fred Thompson - and this is a great sequel with a ton of twists and turns -- imagine trying to follow-up an all-time classic like 'Die Hard'... they really did a great job with this

Die hard with a vengeance is fantastic. Must-watch
When it comes to which Die Hard movie to watch at Christmas, I was always more partial to this one than the first. As you pointed out, Kristen, the snow adds to the Christmas vibe. The first one takes place in a warmer location where there's no snow, so it feels like something I can watch anytime of the year. Both movies are equally awesome, though. By the way, I don't know if you two mentioned it in the full reaction, but did you notice John Leguizamo and a pre-Terminator 2 Robert Patrick as two of the terrorists? It's fascinating seeing how young they were. I also have to give a shoutout to Bill Sadler as Col. Stuart. He plays a very menacing and underrated villain here. Anyway, I look forward to your Die Hard With A Vengeance reaction.
I love the first three films. I think the 4th one is good, but the first 3 movies are the best. The third film is the best of the sequels, with the second as a runner-up. The original will always be the best, though. So looking forward to your reaction of Die Hard With A Vengeful!

I will always have an emotional connection to this movie and think it’s the best of the series. I was a sophomore in high school working at General Cinema in NorCal, as an “usher” when this came out. I had never seen the first one, so to me this movie blew me away as a 14 year old kid, getting paid $4.50 an hour to watch movies all day. Man… we had this movie on two screens at our theatre. I watched it everyday I worked, and on my lunch break for about a month straight 😂😮😂

In the 1st Die Hard movie John McClane when asked for his name says, "Just call me Roy." This is in homage to the cowboy star Roy Rogers who often used the phrase, "yippee-ki-yay" without the M.F.

the two og die hard movies doubling down on making him the good guy in the wrong place at the wrong time and on Xmas twice was a great risk that paid off to this day esp sparking a big debate imo best xmas movie series to date lol

Please react to the sequels! They aren't Christmas related in any way but if you love action, they'll provide it! You both have 3 more to go if you want to finish the franchise. The last three are 1."Die Hard with a Vengeance," 2."Live Free or Die Hard,"(My favorite other than the first!) and 3."A Good Day to Die Hard" which is good but I feel the weakest out of the franchise.
live free or die hard has some of the earliest roles for maggie q and mary elizabeth winstead. what's not to like? and the anti-chemistry with justin long (and real life anti-chemistry with kevin smith) was "chef's kiss". 😄

“Kristen’s husband, why don’t you answer the phone?” Well, it’s hard to answer the phone when she doesn’t actually call. If she called, I would happily answer.
The original helped cement the current genre of action movies and has no equal. Without it, action movies today wouldn't be what they are. The original 'trilogy' is one of those rare few where all the movies were really well done and were a continuation of one story. Unfortunately, after that, the movies started to lose some of the coherence and got more and more unbelievable. The reason the first movie was such a huge success, (and the second to a lesser extent with the plane crash,) was that although it may have been a bit far-fetched, McClane actually got injured, couldn't save everyone, and was a relatable hero, just some guy in the right place at the wrong time. At the time it was released, this wasn't a common practice in action movies. Bruce wasn't considered by Hollywood to be a believable action hero, so they set out to make a movie to prove critics and the system wrong, playing to his strengths as an actor, which included comedy, but semi-realistic comedy for the situation. Of course, the other aspect that made the original a masterpiece was the late Alan Rickman, who puts on a masterclass of acting, being a very interesting and diverse 'villain'. I'd say you should definitely watch the third movie, because it is a wild ride and the set pieces are even more insane, what they were able to do. The first three were also all directed by the same person, John McTiernan, who had a set vision for the character and storyline that unfolded over those movies. The rest after that are still interesting, but they ultimately become less Die Hard movies, and more like regular action movies. Good to watch them for the entire 'story', but the first three are the important ones.
Besides the first one with a Vengeance is my favorite Die Hard movie. This is cool nonetheless. Love your reaction to this ladies

The perfect family Christmas movie sequel featuring... John McClane the elf! This movie is so adventurous and action-packed, I love all the explosions and shootings, which is what everyone wants. I love how Barnes stuck by McClane's side throughout the film while everyone else doubted him and kicked him out of the equation.
