    Thanks a lot for this very informative video! I am relatively new to DaVinci Resolve, now I know how to make a proper node tree for the Phantom LUTs (and basically any type of LUT with a Rec709 conversion). Also, the power grade is such a nice timesaver. Appreciate it!

    Hello!
    Thanks for a very nice video. Why do you have a CST node at nr 6? I am trying to learn this. I understand everything in the video. But don't understand why you have a CST before the Phantom (correction) LUT. Doesn't that LUT correct your Sony Log footage to Rec709?
    Please answer me this. Again. Thanks for a very helpful tutorial. Really like your node three.

    Thank you so much for the vid! Curious about your use of the CST -- what settings are you using there? Input SLog3 of course... and output also SLog3 in order to place the LUT on?

    • @KofiYeboah
      @KofiYeboah  Год назад

      So for non-log luts , I use output to rec.709/gamma2.4 and put on a creative lut, for log luts I’ll turn the node off and just use the lut on its own ! Hope that helps

    Thanks for this but you should definitely start the tutorial with showing how to set up the Color Management in the project settings. What Color Science do you choose? (YRGB or Color Managed?), what timeline color space and what Output color space (I assume rec709).. It took me also to read the comments to get that your CST node was not active in this example... Thanks man.

      Usually the slog 3/s gamut3.Cine to rec.709/gamma2.4 for creative luts, and it’s off when it’s log luts like phantom

    Great video overall, but I wish you would have gone into more detail about how to color grade the skin tones @ 3:18. You mentioned that it looks good out of the box so you didn't show us those skin tone adjustments for us but it would have been helpful to find another example for us to see how you edit them. Thanks for the tutorial on the other things within the video though! Very helpful for the most part.

    IMPORTANT:Hmmm, users have an issue with color shifting on macOS after rendering, so I do not think that Rec.709 is a good option. The best way to use Phantom LUTs is to check: Use Mac display color profiles for viewers and in project settings change Timeline color space and Output color space to Rec.709-A? This is what colorists from Davinci Resolve said. Without this your render file will have color shift issue- less saturated and brighter than in Resolve view. Of course you should spend more time to color your footage, it’s not the same in Final Cut for example where you put the LUT and everything is done, except small exposure changes. Keep it in mind guys🙌
