  • Previously a members only video - Made public since we no longer reside in BG and wanted to show the behind the scenes of why we left, our plans and what happens next..
After organising Anisha to have some tests carried out, we headed to Targovishte. Once we got there, we then found out it wasn't our gynocoligist who was going to do the rest of the tests and it was a completely different department in a completely different region!
Taking the swab and samples to Strahitza the next morning was a little nerve-wracking.. especially since the Google map pin drop was to a laboratory that had closed down. We end up finding the hospital and attend the medical laboratory within that.. all this for blood and fluid samples.
Fast forward, and we are coming to a fork in the road..

We like your honesty re: you not speaking the language being the issue, and it is so important for us foreigners to try to learn as much Bulgarian as we can so we can be more self sufficient and integrated, but it is sooo difficult!

In Bulgaria, you can also choose a birth team, procedures, hospital, English-speaking obstetrician, and everything else. You just have to do it in a modern private hospital, and pay for it.

Yes that is true, but finances were tight and we were running out of time 😭

Completely understand the reasons why you decided to have baby in the uk, it's much easier when you are in your home country and native tongue. We had Max in the uk 2 years ago for the same reasons as I also only received very basic care here. Gynae was lovely but only offered a very basic scan every month no other testing etc, which I didn't mind but I'd imagine if it's your first pregnancy this can be quite daunting. We would of had to travel a lot further for all the care which we didn't want to do. You guys made the right decision :) are you guys heading back to bg soon?

Sounds like a very similar situation to how we had it, thanks for sharing your experience with us, its nice to know we aren't the only ones who felt a little lost with the health care system. We're hoping to visit back and forth until we have an established passive income stream to live out there permanently again 🙂

This is the most stupid couple I have seen. The 6.8 mln Bulgarians survived in this country.I have followed every single video from the beginning of stay in Bulgaria.

Good luck in "perfect Uk".We Bulgarians survive in this system. The problem that you not learned language and integrated is your mistake.

We take responsibility for that 🙏 UK has it's advantages but it's far from perfect lol
