downtown is vibrant at night. During the day it's more active in South San Jose and West San Jose, such as Santa Row and Valley Fair. San Pedro Square is a certain area within downtown that's (usually) more active during the day. Video might have been on a weekday before lunch, when even San Pedro Square wouldn't be that busy. There's definitely nothing unsafe about downtown SJ at night. I grew up in SJ and lived in downtown for about two years. I pass through downtown quite often, usually at night. Never unsafe. It's definitely not true that "business are no longer there". This area is known as Silicon Valley because tech is the main business. Cisco is very much still in Silicon Valley, as is Intel, HP, AMD, Google, Apple, many others. Most tech companies in the world are located in San Jose. Cisco is an office park in North San Jose. Of course, most tech people work from home at least two days a week, still. I doubt if we ever see a day when all tech companies have everybody back in the office. 🙂
I’m not sure why but I’m assuming it’s because it was in the morning. Before the stores open. San Francisco and Los Angeles are packed with busy people :)
Silicon Valley is basically Santa Clara County. What happened is that Hewlett and Packard were students at the world renowned Stanford University, and their engineering professor advised them to open a business locally in Santa Clara County, instead of going to Los Angeles or New York or Chicago or San Francisco. So they founded HP in Palo Alto and that was the first startup company. 🙂 San Jose is the largest city in Silicon Valley, with the most tech companies anywhere in the world; I think it's over 1000 tech companies now. Most are in North San Jose along North 1st Street, but some are in downtown, such as Adobe and Zoom. Of course, most white collar workers work from home at least two days a week, still. 🙂 I grew up there, and still live here. I lived in downtown for about two years. Downtown can be quiet in the day time, but is really active at night. 🙂
Whoa San Jose is a ghost town not surprised that the businesses are no longer there cool walkthrough
Same here. Too expensive to live also.

Haven’t you heard of Covid?
It's vibrant at night. I go through downtown often, usually at night. Lots of people from sundown to around 2 AM. 🙂
