Does distrokid get 20% rerevenue from view on topic channel? And what if i dont select content id, is my music video/song protected if someone tried to repload it or perform covers of it?
Hey great vid btw very helpful indeed , a question tho when you upload your song to distrokid what format , bit and true peak and luf's do you submit them and how are these changed when distrokid submit them to different platforms ?? thx ))
THANKS for this very helpful excellent video. Please let me know the following: If I sign up w/the Musician Plus plan, may I use / list more than one record label (I have 2)(for different genres of music) ? Thanks again.
It seems that it's now impossible to claim your topic channel using distrokid. It's been this way for a month now. Also we used to be able to contact youtube directly and ask them to do it using the support-artist email. But now they are pointing back to their help center to contact them. Problem is, unless you are a youtube partner (+1000 sub and 4000 hours watched) you can't access the "contact us" section. So now i'm stuck unable to claim my latest topic channel and merge it with my actual channel. Any idea?
@@dvscool Actually it has been resolved since my comment. The menu to claim topic channels through distrokid was made available again. Is it down again now?
@@----248 that option isn't there, or I'm missing it. There's an option to request an artist channel which I think merges them? It's beta. I did this but I haven't hear anything.
@@dvscool it's under "goodies". You must match your channel name with your artist name for it to work tho (this is REALLY important) handles don't count, you can change those whenever you want. It doesn't create a channel, it assigns an existing channel the status of "verified artist". Hope it helps.
What will happen if release music via distrokid and I create a music channel on youtube ( so i can post there music to be "forever" ) what will that result in. Would it fail somehow, would it harm me in some way?
So what are your honest thoughts on the Wheel of Playlist?? I had to quit using it because it looked like bot playlists were grabbing it from that playlist and boosting my numbers for a week and then a huge plummet later.
If I pick a artist name that someone else already has... will things really get screwed up? I'm asking because 3 people already have the name that I was going to use and then I started to notice that there's a lot of artist on Spotify that have the same name... so does having the same name as another artist on Spotify really screw things up?
@@ZigZagProductionStudio I will try to contact them and find out. I’ll share with you whatever info I gather. Maybe beat port wants to make sure that the record label name you’re using is an actual business. We shall see, I’ll keep you posted.
@@ZigZagProductionStudio no not on another platform I’m asking about distrokid like I was wondering if I was to delete my account could I restore it with using the same artist name again along with my music still bein up on distrokid?
Great video !. However people still need to work on their marketing allthough they can upload endlessly music onto plattforms. This in order to get known by a particular audience or audience in general. Ohterwise they never gonna be heard. The pros of a real record company is that a record company has the big money to invest in for example marketing and merchandise. Nowadays its easy to distribute music, but other topics are left.

I think it's not matter. Having same Artist name will not make any issue
I have had no issue with that. As long as it’s small artists and you don’t pick a name like “Eminem” lol
Thank you for the video! It's helpful
Glad to help!
Thanks mate. Really helpful!

Do you need PayPal to withdraw money from Distrokid or can you have it directly deposited in your bank account?
