+blizztendo but your argument that "because human rights didnt exist nothing ppl did 1000 years ago has validity" is pretty silly too if we're being honest with ourselves right
"Why is that boy wearing makeup? Simple. Some boys want to wear makeup and some don't. Some girls want to as well, and some don't. As long as you don't hurt anyone, then, to each their own." This is how you answer that question. It's not that hard.
It's because they do the whole "no makeup makeup look" and on television, you wouldn't even notice the makeup is there. So it's not all in your face. They disapprove of the whole "in your face" thing... and I'm not really sure why. Maybe because it's different and definitely a newer thing that's been growing over the past few years? I mean, people tend not to like change, especially older generations, and especially conservatives.
Poppy Britton-gray ikr society is so stupid. Pink used to be a man color. Men used to wear high heals 'cause of high status. Men used to wear skirts. Women also start to do this at one point (nothing wrong with this) and then suddenly guys can't anymore for some stupid reason. It's so idiotic and illogical.
Maggy Blue Korean men don't wear the"whole face" (eyelashes, lip stick...) it's true they look more feminine because of the smoother look but they don't look like a woman
charlene hughes-peseta bb cream and cc cream is totally natural, it just hides the redness and hydrates the skin, it's different if you compare it to the western girl full makeup
Child: "Mommy why are you freaking out?" Mom: "Because I can't handle the fact that people are different than each other and I want everyone to live in a bubble like I do." Child: "But don't we live in a free country, where people can live how they want?" Mom's head explodes. Freedom.
Manny, letting gay people have the same rights as the rest of us isn't about their right to "expression." It's about the freedom to be who they are and live how they want. Giving them the same rights as me doesn't infringe on my life a bit.
eatmorenachos I agree. The problem I have is when you try FORCE others to accept a lifestyle they disagree with. In other words saying a person is a bigot simply because they disagree. You should have the right to live your life how you see fit but, you don't have the right silence others who disagree,
Your free speech allows you to say what you want. My free speech allows me to say you're being a bigot if I think you're being a bigot. This is not forcing you to accept anything. That is not silencing you. In fact, you are silencing me if I'm not allowed to say that I'm not allowed to express what I think of your views.
People who push gender roles have difficulty with this... if they weren't such assholes all the time, I might be able to whip up a bit of sympathy for them.
vaughnique I'm a female who very VERY rarely wears makeup, but, if he wants to, why is that a problem? It's just powder that makes your face look better. Why should someone be ridiculed for wearing it just cause they were born male?
Aries Aurora Klondike Girl, me too. I rarely wear it but i love seeing how people experiment with it. It's a form of self expression/art! I don't know how people can believe that makeup is only limited to females and females only. But like they were saying in the video, there will always be people who are ignorant :(
Need less I'm gay and I don't put on makeup, and make up is just to enhance your appearance if the pigments of your lips aren't what you desire then u can change it, yeah most gay men wear lipstick but they're straight men who do it too
Many straight men wear makeup. "trying to raise her son normally" Lying to him isn't normal, trying to protect him from these things will make things worse.
remember.. in Korea not only gay men, but also straight meant wear make up. They dont all put highlighter eyeshadow etc put it on.. but its common for straight kpop idols wear powder, foundation and maybe eyeshadow. And its probably not just korea. Just a reminder for close minded homophobic people.
Not just Korea, here in America too. Lots of subcultures here include men wearing make up, goths being one, punks, transvestites( non gay ones too lol)......and even a few main streamers who wear it due to there jobs, like actors, models, newscasters, etc. So here's hoping that those narrow minded bigots wise up and realize that make up isn't a sin!!! But I'm not gonna hold my breath......still, maybe someday.
Really? At least get it right. "One mother who goes by the name of Sarah disagrees. Her name is Sarah . . . " As spoken, with the accent on "is", it is not at all odd in the human experience, to repeat one's self in that manner in this context of speaking while leafing through one's notes to find where/how one wishes to introduce this part of the narrative.
Tami - If a guy wants to wear makeup, why do you care? How does that affect your life? Oh, that's right - IT DOESN'T. Why do so many religious people think it's okay to tell others how to live THEIR lives? I guess I was wrong about the bible teaching tolerance, loving your fellow man and turning the other cheek.
Jane Doe uh you need to chill lmao, I said some people make those choices since they were young and they can't change that about themselves, in a way they can't help it. I never even told anyone how to live their life, if anything I'm all for it so before you comment you should at least ask me to explain myself like the person above did
Patrick Petty i understand what you are trying to say but james doesn't wear makeup because he is gay he wears it because he wants to and the video was saying otherwise.
C. Morgan Free as I was saying it sucks for Sarah her son will figure out sooner or later instead of you telling me not to run to the comments how about u tell your self that and listen more
i know. makeup was created to conceal flaws, improve physical appearance in egypt, not specifically created just for girls yet there are people who believe that it's wrong for guys to do it
illiminutti exactly yes he’s gay but that’s not why he wears makeup he wears makeup because he likes it and wants to wear it there is absolutely nothing wrong with that
ikr when i have kids I'm going to throw gender roles out the window, if my son wants to wear makeup, ill show him how to do it, I'm saying this and I'm religious.
That's the reason I don't agree with him on the cover. Plenty of trans women deserve to be on the cover, but they chose James... James being involved doesn't bother me, him being on the cover bothers me. Gay people are accepted way more than Trans people, so having a trans woman on the cover would have been a smarter move imo.
Um James isn't the new face of Cover Girl bc of the LGBT community but to show anyone can wear makeup and it's a big middle finger to gender stereotypes. Don't get me wrong I completely support the LGBT community but that is not why Cover Girl chose James as the new cover girl
Jordan Howell yeah I was gonna comment on that. He is called the coverBOY because he isn't trans. The message they're sending out is ANYONE can wear makeup
I don't think this has anything to do with the LGBT community? A boy wearing makeup doesn't mean he's gay or transgender, he can just be someone who enjoys makeup.
@@mogabriel5238 no they shouldn't when jesues comes thou shall pay so let them do whatever tf they want because they have a life to live and they can do whatever
I'd argue it was the enlightenment and the French Revolution that were the catalyst for this change. Also the whole male-dominated outdoor movement mid century probably put the nail in the coffin.
I know, right? And other things, such as names, like Avery, Autumn, Alexis, or even Evelyn, have become more of a female thing, when the reality is that these names are UNISEX. Same thing happens with makeup. Makeup is unisex, it doesn't matter how you decide to wear it, it has no gender rules or something like that.
Makeup is worn more by girls because it's almost kinda.. idk how to say.. built into them? Not all girls are like this but by by a certain age girls start wearing makeup because they want to or feel they need to. Many boys never feel like this.
I thought feminism was equal rights for BOTH genders. I'm glad James is a covergirl. Why does it matter who they pick to be a cover girl anyways, the makeup will be the same. Saying James can't be a covergirl is like saying a girl can't play sports. Or a boy can't dance! It's stupid! This is coming from a 13 year old GIRL!
IvonaLikes I agree. but also what made me mad was how the reporter referred to LGBTQ community as "people different from us" I mean like, this is not okay. we're all humans here, right? like, im ftm and gay, I have a boyfriend, I pride that. I don't need people like her, even though she obviously supports LGBTQ community, to drag me down. that is not a way to reffer to the community. like honestly. im thirteen too, and I know this stuff, yet she doesn't know that honestly that wasn't an appropriate way to label LGBT people. okay bye
Annie You gotta problem Why are you getting mad? Is it because I made a typo? Or I didn't mention anything about the lady mentioning the LGBT community. I support James so...
Makenzie Meyers I respect your opinion, but why are you so heated? James is going to continue and do whatever he'd like to do. Also, two people also corrected me so there's no point in repetition. Thank you.
Taking Back November Official Saying gay people are "different" isn't offensive - it's a fact. Just like saying being gay is not "normal." It isn't "normal", by definition, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. The most generous statistics still estimate that less than 10% of the population is gay, so gay people are not the majority and are "different" from most people. Once again, there is nothing wrong with being different, so nothing to be offended about.
Aquarius & Aries 6362 can we be friends like yassss finally I have the exact same view. One of my guy friends wanted to wear a choker I had a few so I have him one and he wore it, and everyone at school said it was weird and only girls are supposed to wear a necklace or a choker. Same thing with clothing like styles of clothing don't have a gender and nor do colors. Nor do thoughts.
Via Das yasssss I totally agree schools especially need to realize that we are all people and we can wear whatever we want no matter our gender. I also hate school dress codes, they totally degrade young girls😟😟. But yes I'll be ur friend ☺️
Aquarius & Aries 6362 yay 😊 I totally agree I play basketball and other sports so I have to wear lose short clothing otherwise I'll die of heat and so I was wearing a low sleeved shirt and so you could kind of see my bra and so the principal dress coded me when my friend (a guy ) was wearing the same shirt standing right next to me
Seriously dude, why do people think that because a guy wears something feminine they're automatically trans? Gender identity and fashion aren't the same thing...
ik. like make up has no gender, its just that society deemed it a 'girl' product. if i were a boy *sings beyonce* i would still want my lashes on fleek and highlight poppin. who wouldnt? (except for everyone who doesnt - whom i never will understand lol)
"People wearing makeup" People. Wearing. Makeup. PEOPLE. WEARING. MAKEUP. It is sad that such a simple thing can cause such an uproar. It blows my mind. The answer to the question is because. he. wants. to. He wears makeup because he wants to and there is no problem with that. Putting something on your face does not define who you are. People need to grow up and accept that our society is changing and they either need to change with it or at the least accept the change because it's not going anywhere.
Idk how it’s abt trans ppl bc James Charles ain’t trans. I thought it was about accepting the idea that some men like to wear makeup! But obvs I support tans ppl I just don’t see the connection?
Namjoon and Jimin no one said anything about kpop. This is an old conservative mom she wouldn’t even know what Kpop is. No one cares about your Asian boy bands
I am a pretty hardcore catholic and I am being raised catholic, but I support the LGBTQ+ community and so does my whole family! Heck, the Pope even supports them!
Same, my family are also catholic but also have no problem with the LGBTQ+. My dad would tell us "Those people are really fun to hang out with. I had gay friends before and they were really cool and funny" And my mom would say "Yeah, they are ok. As long as they are nice then there is no problem"
I love seeing open minded christians, there is a church by my house that has a sign outside that says "We support the LGBT+ community, we are all brothers and sisters". I dont know why its so hard for parents to tell kids "makeup is not just for girls it is a form of expressing yourself, its ok to be attracted to the same sex(of course age appreciate convo) and we are all equal no matter our race, sex, sexual orientation etc." Those talks will make our world a better place. If you don't support LGBT that is your right but it shouldnt be portrayed to kids as bad, weird or wrong and you just simply don't support that(if you HAVE to push your views onto them. My son is 4 so I have not had those questions but if/when I do then I want him to be as open minded and accepting as we want others to be towards us.
Today pink is usually associated with girls and blue is associated with boys. But up until the 1920s, it was the other way round. Parents would usually dress baby boys in pink. It just shows that stereotypes have always been changing and always will.
what's the bad thing about the truth? They'll find out about these things sooner or later, it's better to educate them about it in the right way instead of just letting society influence their thoughts.
Shaun W that isn't true, some people choose to tell their children about certain things in their own time, just like sex is rather tell my child who is old enough to hear it about sex then someone to tell my 5 year old. It's pretty simple. We as parents have a right to not be judged on how and when we choose to tell OUR children things.
because society carries many different opinions and by having an opinion influenced by society you have a wider range of bias whereas if your opinion comes solely from your parents you mindset will be narrowed
Or you could just say he wears makeup because he wants to and that's ok. Also how is it "sinful????" I'm so heated. Like I how? Ugh I hate ignorant people
T0NICSS So she's homophobic. If she would accept gays what own son as gay would change? And you clearly don't know that you cant choose are you gay or not.
T0NICSS is this a joke response, cause if not, I’m concerned. But sexuality is not cause by if you see someone who is that orientation. If i see a gay person, that doesn’t mean I’ll be gay. It isn’t some sort of disease.
Wait! wait! wait!! How hard is it to say "Because that was his choice" and "this makes him happy and he is old enough to make descions that make him that happy"
Sparkle LaBelle, Actually that was for only some cultures like the Egyptians. For many other cultures it was used for tribal reasons, or other reasons like that. I never said it was for those things however some cultures did it for royalty to make the royals have more beauty. When I said hat I did I didn't mean they used it to enhance certain parts of their face, anyone can do that. Many Emperors of Asian societies and countries still do use makeup to enhance their face in certain ways.
Saniya Mitts Exactly! Makeup has been an art for years, centuries even. It shouldn't matter how it was previously used.. That's like saying the makeup actors use isn't like the stuff used for everyday makeup looks. Like, makeup is makeup no matter the use.
QueerGoth Roshi well obviously tribal reasons , to clarify like news reporters, royalty but this guy wasn't doing any of that. He was using cover girl to enhance just like the girls do. That's where the mother saw the problem. I just don't understand why everyone is acting so oblivious as to why a little kid would be confused seeing a boy wearing girls makeup.
But is it ethically moral? That’s the question the mother was most concerned with and I applaud her for not just eating up what society feeds all of us (the majority of Americans are brainwashed). Don’t believe everything you hear, see, are told to believe. Please. Look up evidence. Look up evidence from the other side. Play devil’s advocate a few times. This woman was thinking for herself, and I know at the root of it, everyone believes that people have a right to think for themselves. But ultimately, that’s what you guys are attacking in this woman.
It's paint for skin. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with ethics as long as you don't make your face look like the inside of a bathroom stall with slurs and dicks on leash cartoons.
Bethany S What do you mean "is it ethically moral"? Girls and boys can wear makeup. How can wearing makeup be immoral? It's like saying that women should not wear trousers, hold jobs or drive!
Paint for skin. That’s all it is. It doesn’t say anything? It doesn’t mean anything? In American culture, makeup is something typically done by women. Mr. Charles lives in an American culture. When he puts on makeup, it says something. When something as mundane as “paint for face” holds meaning, which makeup does, it is perfectly valid to ask whether or not it is ethical or moral. The difference between saying boys shouldn’t wear makeup and girls can’t drive is that driving denotes zero kind of gender specific standards. We all need to get places. We all don’t need to look feminine though, however. The only reason someone would need to look feminine is because they are a female. That IS a gender specific standard. And if you both are going to imply that everyone can be whatever they want because their own momentary happiness is all that matters, then we can’t have this conversation. Because at that point you’re implying that there are no standards for anything which makes morals invalid, which means there should be no rules and I don’t have discussions with people if we can’t agree that there is truth.
@@bethanys8852 Sis, when "Mr. Charles" puts on makeup it means... that he wants to put on makeup. It ain't that deep... And, from your statement, why do women wear pants? They don't NEED to, they can just wear skirts all the time. It comes down to individual preference. If you wanna do it, do it as long as you aren't hurting anyone or yourself.
I'm guessing the mother was jealous that the Cover Boy's makeup looks better than hers or she has never seen Hairspray, Mrs. Doubtfire, Madea, and/or Big Momma movies.
Christina Littleton nah I agree with the mother here and there’s no way I’m jealous of his looks. He wears more makeup than most women just to look like one. And that’s fugly . :)
Oreo The Food Motivated Cat imagine being as selfish as you are. he’s not doing makeup to look like a woman. he does it because it’s one of his interests/hobbies. it’s not ugly, and it’s probably prettier than what you look like. from the sounds of it, you sound like a 300lb country person who doesn’t know their ass from their face. please, this world needs less people like you, do something about that. change your mindset.
Light_Jak And makeup was originally made FOR men. Back in the BC times with phaoros and till used now for the Emperors of many Asian countries that still have Emperors, such as Japan and such.
why is religion always tied with homophobia, transphobia, etc. I'm religious and I learned in church to love everyone and never hate people no matter what they like what makes us any better than them... just because churches like westboro get the publicity doesn't mean we are all like that most of us are easygoing and loving but like everyone we have our duds that we are ashamed of
Kyra Correll same, I'm a strong Christian and everyone just immediately ties that with homophobia, but yeah Christians are called to love everyone and respect people. Just because a small minority don't it sucks that it reflects on the majority that do.
Kyra Correll Homophobes tend to be religious, or blame their homophobia on religion. They won't openly accept their ignorance. Not all religious people are homophobes, BUT a lot of homophobes are religious.
Kyra Correll Oh, I agree with you on the stereotype thing...I guess I just tie it to religion because they actively preach against the gay community here. It's part of the reason why I stopped going to church in the first place.
People complaining about guys wearing makeup is like saying girls can't do "manly" things. Men should have the same amount of cosmetology freedom as women do. Also, James is very inspiring, beautiful, and an amazing person. If you don't like this, don't send you kid to public school, let them on social media, watch tv, or talk to people. It's much harder than accepting the fact that no one is the same person, and they have different ideas and opinions.
This is 2018, anyone can wear what they wish (in most cases, jail, school uniform, not lewd). Guys can wear makeup, girls don't have to, non-bianary can if they want to aswell. Boys could have once been girls and vise versa, they could be both, they can be friggin none if they want. Like damn let people express themselves and be themselves. Let them be them, and let love be love. Like damnnnnnnn 😩
Am I the only that doesn't agree that a boy wearing make-up is supporting the LGBT and Trans Community, it's literally just supporting the fact that Cis, Trans, Gay, or Straight boys should be perfectly okay with wearing make-up.
Yeah, I didn't get the part where it was about supporting the LGBT+ community because makeup has nothing to do with a person's sexuality. They could have said it was about promoting self-expression with all genders.
When a woman like Scarlett Johansson or Ruby Rose dresses androgynously, everybody thinks it hot, but a guy can't do his makeup in a conventionally feminine manner without people getting freaked out and thinking that he's trying to trick men into sleeping with him. Surely that's unfair. Where are all the whiny men's rights activists from Reddit when you actually need them?
Double standards galore. Somehow we women have hijacked soooo many stuff from men, like dresses, painted nails, heels etc. It's pretty sad that men have to feel guilty over petty shit like that. gg society...
Patriarchy. "Manliness" is worshipped and "femininity" is shameful (especially for men). How many guys say they find it hot when a girl is into sports or attracted to other women? How many women find it desirable for their men to love ballet or be attracted to other men?
No, he looks like a man with makeup. Makeup isn't just for women. Anyone can wear it. I don't see anyone telling gothic men that they look like women, cosplayers, performers or television personalities. I think it's silly. You would never mistake him for a woman.
I 100% support James Charles and I love him but tbh I don't really like it when people talk about how him wearing makeup is supporting the LGBT community bc they're celebrating his makeup not his sexuality and it's like they're saying that gay men are the only men wearing makeup. I might have explained that badly but idk it kinda bothers me
LEMME SAY SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT SO PLEASE READ, im approx 23 seconds into this video and I'd already just like to point out that yes this is very LGBT supportive but no it is not specifically targeted to transgender people. James is a male, identifies as male, and him wearing make-up does not make him any less male. You can't just blatantly associate make up with gender, in fact that's the message Covergirl is supporting, the fact that make-up is GENDER NEUTRAL. I just felt like that needed to be said before y'all start wildin'
I was referring to when they were talking about Covergirls intetions when hiring James, to emphasize make-up being gender neutral. They stated that him wearing make-up targets the trans community specifically, although it helps, that isn't the case. Didn't have anything to do with him personally
Nathanial Jacob Some people who are transgender still ware makeup. Like a Female to Male. They could still ware makeup if they wanted to if they enjoyed it. That is just my take on that though. We all of different opinions.
These people are making a bad name for homeschooling, the majority of homeschoolers are just home educated because of special needs, bullying, autism ect.
Theemys Wonders I was homeschooled because I had a very very severe peanut allergy and couldn’t even be in the same room. It was just easier and safer for me to be homeschooled
I've been homeschooled when I was in 4th grade and 5th grade. My mom was my teacher and we always get along together and homeschooling is peaceful for me.
side note: James is a boy who wears makeup, not trans. Not sure if he's gay but even if he was straight- some boys like to wear makeup regardless of sexuality
I raised my sons on Davey Crockett, love and understanding of history...camoflauge..never had ONE PINK SHIRT in the house and they turned out fine....what we need are more MEN and less soy boys
"Why is that boy wearing makeup?" Because he likes it. That's the end of the conversation that you need to have with a six-year-old. You don't need to say that it's wrong or sinful. You just need to say "he's wearing makeup because he likes to wear makeup"
MowgliNHazel if your son wants to wear makeup the worst thing you can do is tell him it's sinful and wrong, it's telling him that he can't be who he is and that there's something wrong with him
*Enter Name Here* Honestly though, when I saw the commercial came on, while my mom and her friend were being disgusted and over all man, I was like... Damn I wish I could do my makeup like that..
what i can't understand is why she can't just say "some boys like to wear makeup" it's as simple as that. my 9 year old sister saw the same ad and that's what i told her. also, a boy wearing makeup is not a sin??? i'm not sure where she got that idea
Mel The mom could also have said "Yes, that person looks like a boy" and her son would have not assigned any importance whatsoever to the conversation. I mean, if she truly wanted her son not to think about wearing makeup. It's like when young kids swear, if we make a big deal out of it, they know swears have power and keep using them. PS "boys" wear makeup on TV and movies all the time, even presidents in front of the cameras. Men from Europe and Asia wore makeup, wigs, silk robes and high-heeled shoes long before women were allowed to. Makeup has never just been for the girls. There's your homeschool lesson for the day ;)
Ellie Jones Wouldn't he have only been thirteen back then? I'm not excusing the behaviour, but if it was done four years ago and was only a vocal comment, it's hard to label him as racist four years later.
the only ill feeling i have towards this dude is straight jealousy, he has such beautiful features love that kid. And he needs to teach me the art of not covering your freckles but still having foundation on cuz that shit is on point with him.
If the homeschool mom can't explain boys wearing make-up, then how is she gonna teach him about sex or menstration ?? Oh, wait she is a conservative ...
Adrienne how many homeschool people do you know with stds??? I agree some parents take homeschooling to a completely different lever but I'm homeschooled, I'm perfectly normal I know about sex my friends are bi and in by no means do we need and " education figure" to tell me I know I have blood coming out of my vag. Or that I know how to read and do math.
Kamy Raye Kamy Raye I think that they mean that boys who are homeschooled probably won't know anything about the female anatomy because most conservative people leave that out...???? Idk I know that my mom who isn't really conservative hates talking about it versus me, someone who's pretty comfortable with the topic. Also just teens in general do get pregnant and get STD's due to lack of education. I'm not to educated with the ratio of public schools pregnancies to homeschool pregnancies so honestly I think it just depends on the person.
The idea of making a man the spokesperson of covergirl wasn’t about supporting LGBT it was about the normalization of makeup on men. I mean maybe part of the reason was but this just what personally think.
just a side comment, but, how does him being the new cover girl model support the lgbt+ community specifically? why can't it just be supporting gender equality, and breaking assigned gender roles? like, men can wear makeup if they choose to. i don't think that has to do with the lgbt+ community, nor the trans community specifically? i just had a hard time understanding that part?
nerdylime SUPER LATE, but James is gay that's why. They couldve gotten a straight male who wear makeup, but James is male and gay so lgbt+ and gender equality
Snowy Ermine my mom told be when I was seven when I saw a gay couple in a movie, she said that it was okay now, 4 years late and I'm a full supporter of the LGBTQ community
I am a homeschooled Christian. My mom is very conservative on alot of issues particularly the one at hand. Throughout the years I have realized that my job as a Christian is not to hate and scrutinize, but to love and help others. Looking back on some of the comments I have made about the LGBT community, makes me feel sick. Hate goes against everything that Christians are supposed stand for. That being said, it troubles me that they were talking about homeschooled parents feeding their kids lies (indicating that evolution is a fact). Now this worries me not because they have a different opinion but that they are saying evolution is true and they intelligent design is false. I do understand that everyone is right in their own minds but they talk about Christian parents doctoring the info they give their kids but contradict themselves by indicating that creationism is false. Providing only one alternative in schools which is Darwinism. Now if we lived in a perfect world all schools would provide a wide variety of explanations and beliefs about how the word began (including Darwinism, creationism...ect) and the teacher would help the students find contradictions in each theory, allowing students to form their own opinions, instead of the teacher teaching a one sided perspective (whichever one it may be). I believe this teaches kids to respect others beliefs even though it may not be the one that they believe, I also think it forms them into strong minded and tolerant adults. Sorry this was soooo long and off topic. Btw I love james charles💙!!
I get what you’re getting at, but creationism makes no sense in a world that relies on technology and science, and STEM in general. That’s just my opinion and you of course have yours. I also don’t expect a response considering the comment is really old, but still
I used to say that "it's a girl" whenever my sister would see a boy wearing makeup, I just didn't know what to say back then (and no I'm not a hater of the LGBTQ + community I'm actually queer myself) now I tell her that "some boys like to wear makeup" and that's was months ago, then earlier today I asked her "do you think makeup is only for girls?" She replied to me saying " boys and girls are the same it doesn't matter if a boy likes to wear makeup and dresses" the moment she said those words made me feel so happy she's only seven years old I'm so happy that she can be so opened minded kids her age are really big on gender roles so I'm glad she doesn't care about that, anyway I hope this little story makes you happy and makes your day just a little bit better ( :
This video is so honest, and I agree. Let guys wear makeup if they want, it's not hurting you or anything like that. People are allowed to make their own choices.
Fun fact: make-up was commonly worn by men 1,000s of years ago.
wesley ogilvie 1000 years ago human rights didn't exist, should we go back to that? The argument of "ppl did it back then so it's ok now" is silly.
Blizztendo He wasn't making that argument. His point was that in many cultures, men have worn makeup as long as women have been
Sune Nezumi there are several books that people lived by, to which are you referring? Either way, that argument is severely uneducated.
+blizztendo but your argument that "because human rights didnt exist nothing ppl did 1000 years ago has validity" is pretty silly too if we're being honest with ourselves right
Sune Nezumi "There is A book that people LIVED by". "A huge number of people follow THAT SAME BOOK today". No you weren't, and I forgive you.
"Why is that boy wearing makeup? Simple. Some boys want to wear makeup and some don't. Some girls want to as well, and some don't. As long as you don't hurt anyone, then, to each their own." This is how you answer that question. It's not that hard.
Star Brand PREACH 🙌🙏
Star Brand I know. She's not actually even in a place to not be able to answer her son's question. She just doesn't want to answer it right.
Supratika Basnet EXACTLY 👌👌👌
It's cus this dude's gay. Men don't want to wear makeup. Literally the ONLY men who want to wear makeup are gay or trans
Gokor if they're trans they're not men.
Guys male models and ppl on tv wear makeup so chill tf out.
Joey B obviously. but not like the guy. they wear makeup like foundation and concealer to make the skin look nice
Itzel kay Ok... they still wear makeup so why is everyone saying they completely disapprove of men wearing makeup.
Kn1cknackz0 I respect your opinion, it makes sense.
Shoot even male singers wear make up and some even wear it like this.
I’m a dude, and I wear makeup. It’s meant to hide my acne and skin blemishes that are all over my face. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Brandon hay you’re gay!
YouWanna ArmWrestle Dude, What dose it matter to you if he is or isn’t? Like seriously grow up.
Cinnamon Steam and what does it matter to you if I want to mock him or not? Hypocrite!
YouWanna ArmWrestle when you mock him it shows your maturity level. Like Cinnamon Steam said grow up.
YouWanna ArmWrestle and ur maturity level is negative 0
believe it or not men have worn makeup for thousands of years , and wore ut before women did.
Poppy Britton-gray yea in Egypt men and women wore makeup and a lot of other cultures
Poppy Britton-gray idk if it sounds like I'm blaming women or not, but I'm not. Just saying xD
Poppy Britton-gray true
Poppy Britton-gray yep
She'd shit bricks if she watched any Korean media outlet lmao. Most of the men obviously wear makeup.
lmfaooo
Maggy Blue she'd shit bricks if she visited Korea! In Korea it's perfectly normal for men to apply BB cream or CC cream or skin care regimen.
Maggy Blue XD
Maggy Blue Korean men don't wear the"whole face" (eyelashes, lip stick...) it's true they look more feminine because of the smoother look but they don't look like a woman
charlene hughes-peseta bb cream and cc cream is totally natural, it just hides the redness and hydrates the skin, it's different if you compare it to the western girl full makeup
Child: "Mommy why are you freaking out?"
Mom: "Because I can't handle the fact that people are different than each other and I want everyone to live in a bubble like I do."
Child: "But don't we live in a free country, where people can live how they want?"
Mom's head explodes. Freedom.
eatmorenachos the irony.
Funny, it's freedom of expression when you agree with it and hate speech when you don't.
In fact, you are silencing me if I'm not allowed to say that I'm not allowed to express what I think of your views.
we love a controversial sister
ALDC Queens she talks bad about James she talks bad about his 5 million sisters!
*shishtar
Ephemeral Felicity sincerest apologies my fellow shishtar
I’m crying...
ALDC Queens I found another Sister🙂
"that boy's wearing makeup because he wants to wear makeup." Bam. Done. What more is there to be said?
Ka Phong as long as you do know how to put on your make up
People who push gender roles have difficulty with this... if they weren't such assholes all the time, I might be able to whip up a bit of sympathy for them.
M A K E U P H A S N O G E N D E R.
July Chan say it louder for the ones in the back!!
vaughnique I'm a female who very VERY rarely wears makeup, but, if he wants to, why is that a problem? It's just powder that makes your face look better. Why should someone be ridiculed for wearing it just cause they were born male?
July Chan YASS, besides he pretty much SLAYS.
Aries Aurora Klondike Girl, me too. I rarely wear it but i love seeing how people experiment with it. It's a form of self expression/art! I don't know how people can believe that makeup is only limited to females and females only. But like they were saying in the video, there will always be people who are ignorant :(
the amount of likes and the positive answers from u gives me back my faith in humanity.
A sin? What part of the Bible says men can't wear eyeliner??
Sharon-Roblox And More!
That has nothing to do with men wearing makeup and eyeliner
Sharon-Roblox And More! B o i
Sharon-Roblox And More! I know. I've been knowing for 3 years or so.
Sharon-Roblox And More! maybe you should leave child
charonna mccaster thank you!
a priest rapes a baby: let's forgive him!! a kid wears makeup: sin!!!!
Jack The Peacock Boi Honestly tho, this world is so petty
Okay but really
Priests are generally Catholic, this lady is probably Protestant.
Spill that tea
Jack The Peacock Boi who the hell forgives a priest that raped a baby? dont make shit up bro
and wearing make up for males isn't a gay thing it's a everyone thing
Need less I'm gay and I don't put on makeup, and make up is just to enhance your appearance if the pigments of your lips aren't what you desire then u can change it, yeah most gay men wear lipstick but they're straight men who do it too
Many straight men wear makeup. "trying to raise her son normally" Lying to him isn't normal, trying to protect him from these things will make things worse.
Caroline Swift Not like how the CoverGirl guy does..
🌙 ImOnlyADream🌙 except no straight guy wears makeup. it's a gay thing.
Michelle Viper What you said is very wrong. Straight men do wear makeup.
He's wearing make up because he wants to, and it is none of our damned business!
Damn* and its only because its on ads everywhere
THANK YOU!
YESYESYES
It is our business they put it on a COMMERCIAL to show everyone
mysterious Dawkins and?
remember.. in Korea not only gay men, but also straight meant wear make up.
Every guy on tv or in the music industry wears makeup
Exactly. Litterally many places have guys that wear makeup. I think it's so cool.
Armyyyy
they also eat dogs
“A mother named Sarah disagrees, her name is Sarah”
Li Me 😂😂
Really? At least get it right. "One mother who goes by the name of Sarah disagrees. Her name is Sarah . . . "
As spoken, with the accent on "is", it is not at all odd in the human experience, to repeat one's self in that manner in this context of speaking while leafing through one's notes to find where/how one wishes to introduce this part of the narrative.
LMAOOOOO
in my opinion, there is no moral dilemma, it's simply "because he wants to" there isn't really much more to it.
Nemi Alger to be honest, like some people make those choices since theyre really young there's nothing they can really do about it
I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean?
Tami - If a guy wants to wear makeup, why do you care? How does that affect your life? Oh, that's right - IT DOESN'T.
Why do so many religious people think it's okay to tell others how to live THEIR lives? I guess I was wrong about the bible teaching tolerance, loving your fellow man and turning the other cheek.
Tami Mclennon you mean gay?
Jane Doe uh you need to chill lmao, I said some people make those choices since they were young and they can't change that about themselves, in a way they can't help it. I never even told anyone how to live their life, if anything I'm all for it so before you comment you should at least ask me to explain myself like the person above did
if a guy can pull of makeup I applaud him because even with makeup I still look like a sack of shit.
SAMMMME PHAM I LOOK LIKEBA SQUISHED POTATO
Max Kapper same!!!
InhalePancakes same 😂😂
InhalePancakes Saaaaame
relatable
its not just an lgbt+ thing too. a straight cis guy could wear makeup if he wants to. its an anyone thing.
bound by doge true.
Gabriel Donahue exactly!
No, straight guys don't wer makeup.
Patrick Petty i understand what you are trying to say but james doesn't wear makeup because he is gay he wears it because he wants to and the video was saying otherwise.
Patrick Petty A straight guy can if he wants to.
Sucks to be Sarah because he will figure out sooner or later😂
true
Ayannah Slaughter Sarah is the mom, listen more instead of running down to the comment section
C. Morgan Free yeah that’s the point I’m already saying that so you don’t have to repeat me lol😂
C. Morgan Free as I was saying it sucks for Sarah her son will figure out sooner or later instead of you telling me not to run to the comments how about u tell your self that and listen more
This is where commas are very handy 😂
males can wear makeup also , anyone can , but a male wearing makeup has no relevance to the LGBT+ community.
Well a lot of gay men wear makeup, not so many straight men so I think I’m a way it is relevant to the gay and trans community
Blorax straight actors wear make up tho
keysol THANK YOU
Blorax there are some straight drag queens
It's literally just makeup. Why would you be angry? Anyone can wear makeup like my hell
alexis mckenzie yeah but they probs don't want him to end up using it to be feminine
emese w but why would it even matter if he used it? What's wrong with being/looking feminine?
i know. makeup was created to conceal flaws, improve physical appearance in egypt, not specifically created just for girls yet there are people who believe that it's wrong for guys to do it
alexis mckenzie idk, maybe it's because he was wearing makeup that makes him look more like a girl :1?
Cats12kitty cat BUT WHY DOES IT MATTER IDK im not angry with you i just dont understand why thats a"sinful" thing
Doesn't know how to explain?
How about, "Because he wants to."
illiminutti exactly yes he’s gay but that’s not why he wears makeup he wears makeup because he likes it and wants to wear it there is absolutely nothing wrong with that
illiminutti sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.
ikr when i have kids I'm going to throw gender roles out the window, if my son wants to wear makeup, ill show him how to do it, I'm saying this and I'm religious.
she said the trans community specifically but James isn’t trans??
kellceyleeann that's what I was shook about
She also said the lgbt+ community 💁🏻♂️
That's the reason I don't agree with him on the cover. Plenty of trans women deserve to be on the cover, but they chose James...
James being involved doesn't bother me, him being on the cover bothers me. Gay people are accepted way more than Trans people, so having a trans woman on the cover would have been a smarter move imo.
ikr
Jay Wood maybe in the future they will have a trans women be the covergirl. Either way they are great campaigns!
THANK YOU cause i was like honey....
Jordan Howell 'coverboy'
Jordan Howell cover girl is the name of the brand , the models don't have to be female.
devin powell yea that's my point, anyone can wear makeup
*she is jealous because he looks better in makeup than her lol*
Audrey Elise ikr
Audrey Elise lmao yes
Audrey Elise
ᵛᶦᶫᶫᵃᶦᶰ ᶰᵘᵐᵇᵉʳ ᵒᶰᵉ
Audrey Elise
Wrong video
Shit
Audrey Elise lol
I don't think this has anything to do with the LGBT community? A boy wearing makeup doesn't mean he's gay or transgender, he can just be someone who enjoys makeup.
doot doot he is gay tho... but true tho... he's just a boy wearing makeup...
+Joshua Garcia, true, who's also gay tho
doot doot truthhhh
doot doot exactly
uh if a guy is wearing a full face of makeup and isn't an actor/broadcaster... he's gay. period.
life didn’t come with instructions. makeup isn’t just for girls.
A man who mounts another man should be put to death
@@mogabriel5238 no they shouldn't when jesues comes thou shall pay so let them do whatever tf they want because they have a life to live and they can do whatever
Um...Men Historically wore more makeup than women. It amazes me by the turn of the 19th century in America makeup became strictly a female thing.
Caroline Swift That's culture not biology.
Kiriin S I know but now its almost built into them.
*Does*
IvonaLikes I agree. but also what made me mad was how the reporter referred to LGBTQ community as "people different from us" I mean like, this is not okay. we're all humans here, right? like, im ftm and gay, I have a boyfriend, I pride that.
I think it's so stupid that that us girls are allowed to wear pants or dresses but when a man decides to wear a dress he gets in trouble
Aquarius & Aries 6362 yay 😊 I totally agree I play basketball and other sports so I have to wear lose short clothing otherwise I'll die of heat and so I was wearing a low sleeved shirt and so you could kind of see my bra and so the principal dress coded me when my friend (a guy ) was wearing the same shirt standing right next to me
Aquarius & Aries 6362 also I love TØP
Aquarius & Aries 6362 because some people think it's degrading to be feminine.
👏 Why 👏 do 👏 they 👏 care 👏
Orange Bar ikr
Orange Bar exactly she’s just another irrelevant
Duh? Because we care.
A man who mounts another man should be put to death
i dont think hes trans... i just think he likes make up.
(except for everyone who doesnt - whom i never will understand lol)
hes not gay, he's not trans, he just likes makeup.
Maddie Shukla same
artimist well yeah he is gay lol. i agree you can't assume people's sexualities tho.
Emma Ball Agreed.
Yes its a boy wearing make up.
And he looks beautiful. Make up doesnt make you gay or trans
тf2 мσм he is gay it's on Ellen I think it's cool that they put him on cover girl
Beautiful? Oh dear
The Potato Army i mean you could be bi, or pan, or forced into it, or confused. generally no. just no
ᴜɴᴄʜᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ᴋɪᴅ yes yes yes. I mean in this case he is gay but that's totally not always the case.
ᴜɴᴄʜᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ᴋɪᴅ yes it does
Idk how it’s abt trans ppl bc James Charles ain’t trans. I thought it was about accepting the idea that some men like to wear makeup! But obvs I support tans ppl I just don’t see the connection?
superskittles same!
It was about what u thought they got that part slightly wrong honest mistake
superskittles Agreed
Wait till she finds out every single man she sees on TV is wearing makeup.
Alex Horan
She’ll flip shit
Dang ikr
Alex Horan she flip and be like,
And literally every male Kpop artist
Namjoon and Jimin no one said anything about kpop. This is an old conservative mom she wouldn’t even know what Kpop is. No one cares about your Asian boy bands
All you have to say is "Oh! Yes sweetie. Some boys wear makeup."
AND THAT'S IT
dip sheets exactly
dip sheets ikr
dip sheets Haha, I agree
dip sheets BOY U R I G H T
dip sheets APPLAUDING YOU SO HARD RIGHT NOW
Our first response was to lie to our kid. There is morality for you.
most parents do. Never heard of parents telling their kids that babies come from the stork?
burneden of course and I think it is immoral.
Who the hell mentions _storks_??
Uhhhh santa
CerBoris 😂😂
I am a pretty hardcore catholic and I am being raised catholic, but I support the LGBTQ+ community and so does my whole family! Heck, the Pope even supports them!
Same, my family are also catholic but also have no problem with the LGBTQ+. My dad would tell us "Those people are really fun to hang out with. I had gay friends before and they were really cool and funny"
And my mom would say "Yeah, they are ok. As long as they are nice then there is no problem"
Sugar Neko Same! My family is very open minded to anyone. Hell, my dad always tells me about his bi friend Daniel!
mimi's gymnastics life We love a catholic gay lol
No wonder u support it not surprise at all
Things that are now considered feminine were originally made for men, examples are makeup and high heels.
KaZ Smith also nail polish!
KaZ Smith leggings too
Blush too
high heels too
Today pink is usually associated with girls and blue is associated with boys.
Marce 1601 if they're homeschooling they probably don't want him to be exposed to the real world
Shaun W that isn't true, some people choose to tell their children about certain things in their own time, just like sex is rather tell my child who is old enough to hear it about sex then someone to tell my 5 year old. It's pretty simple. We as parents have a right to not be judged on how and when we choose to tell OUR children things.
Being told to die by a toxic bunny is like being stabbed by a Barbie lol
because society carries many different opinions and by having an opinion influenced by society you have a wider range of bias whereas if your opinion comes solely from your parents you mindset will be narrowed
Or you could just say he wears makeup because he wants to and that's ok. Also how is it "sinful????" I'm so heated. Like I how? Ugh I hate ignorant people
Lauren Rauh Ikr I just want her to explain it so I can laugh at how ludicrous it is😂😂
Ikr? Bible says nothing about men wearing makeup
Its her belief
Idk if yall know but the bible says specifically that boys are not aloud to wear nontoxic paint on their faces
erik martinez do you know how many men wore makeup back then 😑😑😑
the title, don't you mean "homophobic mom has a meltdown due to a man wearing makeup"
naoise brennan pretty much
naoise brennan how is she homophobic? She just doesnt want a gay son.
Wait! wait! wait!!
How hard is it to say
"Because that was his choice" and "this makes him happy and he is old enough to make descions that make him that happy"
because that doesn't view their opinion. people like that don't accept other opinions.
Your great people
must've been really hard
Because she doesn’t want her son to start wanting to do that
Luna Smith that’s no true they are religious and we need to accept that
Anyone can wear glam makeup, whether they are in the LGBT community or are straight
Back when makeup was created, it was used FOR men. And I totally agree with you on this subject.
QueerGoth Roshi it was to help block the sun though. Not to enhance eyes, lips and cheeks and so on. 😐
QueerGoth Roshi yea exactly, makeup isn't a gender separation it's an art, it's basically painting your face and everybody paints... right?
I can solve her problem in five words: "Boys can wear makeup too."
*WEAVE BEEN SNATCHED*
my wig is in orbit
WEAVE BEEN SNATCHED OMG
Christina Littleton nah I agree with the mother here and there’s no way I’m jealous of his looks. He wears more makeup than most women just to look like one. And that’s fugly . :)
Oreo The Food Motivated Cat imagine being as selfish as you are. he’s not doing makeup to look like a woman. he does it because it’s one of his interests/hobbies. it’s not ugly, and it’s probably prettier than what you look like. from the sounds of it, you sound like a 300lb country person who doesn’t know their ass from their face. please, this world needs less people like you, do something about that. change your mindset.
lol, actors always wear makeup when filming
that is true but its different makeup. its camera makeup and is nothing like real life makeup
Adrienne i know many guys who wear make up, it brings out their eyes and covers their acne, nothing wrong with it
+Adrienne but their not imaginary is real life but acting fake momentes
Light_Jak And makeup was originally made FOR men. Back in the BC times with phaoros and till used now for the Emperors of many Asian countries that still have Emperors, such as Japan and such.
Yeah but do they look like women after they apply the makeup?
why is religion always tied with homophobia, transphobia, etc.
Kyra Correll I wish my church was that nice. My church teaches homophobia and sexism, but my mom doesn't let me make my own choices.
Kyra Correll Oh, I agree with you on the stereotype thing...I guess I just tie it to religion because they actively preach against the gay community here. It's part of the reason why I stopped going to church in the first place.
Ilise Giersdorf that's awful! I'd get out of that place as soon as you can x. Find a church that preaches the bible not horrible beliefs like that ❤️

We love our pretty SHISTAR
gamergirlrad or " mind yo own business Timmy, he want to be gorgeous.
Because she doesn’t want her son to want to start wearing makeup
gamergirlrad that would require her to be open minded and not hateful.
Probably because she doesn't believe that boys can feel pretty. Which is horrible and sexist. And she sucks.
It's much harder than accepting the fact that no one is the same person, and they have different ideas and opinions.
so true
sara is just angry because james is prettier than her

This is 2018, anyone can wear what they wish (in most cases, jail, school uniform, not lewd). Guys can wear makeup, girls don't have to, non-bianary can if they want to aswell. Boys could have once been girls and vise versa, they could be both, they can be friggin none if they want. Like damn let people express themselves and be themselves. Let them be them, and let love be love. Like damnnnnnnn 😩
a man wearing makeup is so unbelievably harmless it's just not an issue.
Makeup was worn by men in Egypt so this is not new. And Egypt is before Christ so that's a long time.
Galaxy Unicorn 218 omg we are both galaxy unicorns!!!!!!
Galaxy Unicorns 218 and in the 1800 it was not ok for women to wair makeup
How is a boy wearing makeup sinful?
because they think if men are feminine, they're gay
A man wearing makeup has no relevance to the lgbtq+ community. It is not sinful or wrong. Anyone can wear makeup
She could've just said, "Because he wants to."
Eden Grey he is not no pervert how is he a pervert because he wears makeup
Eden Grey stfu
Eden Grey How does painting ur face make u a pervert...? In that case everyone else who wears makeup is a pervert too
amen!
I am female. I don’t wear any makeup. If a kid asks his parents why I don’t are you going to tell them it’s because I wasn’t raised right?
Am I the only that doesn't agree that a boy wearing make-up is supporting the LGBT and Trans Community, it's literally just supporting the fact that Cis, Trans, Gay, or Straight boys should be perfectly okay with wearing make-up.
I totally agree!
Smart Ass 27 retweet man
Smart Ass 27 Exactly! i love this!
I was thinking the exact same thing
Yeah, I didn't get the part where it was about supporting the LGBT+ community because makeup has nothing to do with a person's sexuality. They could have said it was about promoting self-expression with all genders.
Sarah is clearly not a sister 😭😥
Rylee tragic, honestly.
Since when is wearing makeup a sin??

women aren't allowed to show much skin and you think the bible condones makeup?
Amy Gibson
no it is not
When a woman like Scarlett Johansson or Ruby Rose dresses androgynously, everybody thinks it hot, but a guy can't do his makeup in a conventionally feminine manner without people getting freaked out and thinking that he's trying to trick men into sleeping with him. Surely that's unfair. Where are all the whiny men's rights activists from Reddit when you actually need them?
awksya f.
They're too dumb to make that argument
+EzorielTV Not just by her, but the dialogue surrounding how this boy looks is definitely unfair if you just look at the comment section.
Double standards galore. Somehow we women have hijacked soooo many stuff from men, like dresses, painted nails, heels etc. It's pretty sad that men have to feel guilty over petty shit like that. gg society...
Ehhh it's not hot. :P
Patriarchy. "Manliness" is worshipped and "femininity" is shameful (especially for men). How many guys say they find it hot when a girl is into sports or attracted to other women? How many women find it desirable for their men to love ballet or be attracted to other men?
its not a sin for guys to wear make up. mama stop
Wow Sarah is rude and disrespectful and should be supportive of lgbtq+. Who’s with me 👋
shishtar im with you

Why does this comment annoy me so much lmao

Yes! Smack her!
Emersyn K not me. She doesn’t need to support any of yo nasty groups.
Since when is it a sin for a man to wear makeup though? So every man on television is sinning?
Sarah Taylor Deuteronomy 22:5 states a man should not look like a woman.
Men on TV are not trying to be women
-.-. He isn't either.
Sarah Taylor yes he is, he is making himself look like a very femenine woman
No, he looks like a man with makeup. Makeup isn't just for women. Anyone can wear it. I don't see anyone telling gothic men that they look like women, cosplayers, performers or television personalities. I think it's silly. You would never mistake him for a woman.
I 100% support James Charles and I love him but tbh I don't really like it when people talk about how him wearing makeup is supporting the LGBT community bc they're celebrating his makeup not his sexuality and it's like they're saying that gay men are the only men wearing makeup. I might have explained that badly but idk it kinda bothers me
Annabelle Lam preach
i understand what you're saying but james is a part of the lgbt community since he is gay
Alex Gold
yes but when he is being celebrated for his makeup skills people always relate it to being gay and stuff
I think they were referring to him being Gay when they said LGBT
I was referring to when they were talking about Covergirls intetions when hiring James, to emphasize make-up being gender neutral. They stated that him wearing make-up targets the trans community specifically, although it helps, that isn't the case. Didn't have anything to do with him personally
Thanks! I misunderstood 😅
Nathanial Jacob +
Nathanial Jacob Some people who are transgender still ware makeup. Like a Female to Male. They could still ware makeup if they wanted to if they enjoyed it. That is just my take on that though. We all of different opinions.
These people are making a bad name for homeschooling, the majority of homeschoolers are just home educated because of special needs, bullying, autism ect.
Yeah, listening to home talk killed off a few of brain cells tbh
He was really ignorant to the topic
Theemys Wonders I was homeschooled because I had a very very severe peanut allergy and couldn’t even be in the same room. It was just easier and safer for me to be homeschooled
Anyone else hurt because of what he said about homeschooling or is it just me? If so, now you know why I feel like I wasn’t made to be homeschooled!
Sasset yeah he's gay, he posted about it on his Instagram story
I raised my sons on Davey Crockett, love and understanding of history...camoflauge..never had ONE PINK SHIRT in the house and they turned out fine....what we need are more MEN and less soy boys
makeup was never labeled only for women
I'm a homeschooled Christian and I think that boys wearing makeup is awesome
GeorgiaRose Styles same!
im a gay who goes to regular school and i dont
Queen of the rats what's wrong with it?
Tofu Shan i dont think androgyny is a cute look. drag is fine cos that is fully feminine
Tofu Shan its ok, but its never a cute look. i mean look at the tumbnail of this video,i think he looks gross
Mommy mommy your full of sheet that's a boy
I was dying😂
"Why is that boy wearing makeup?" Because he likes it.
That's the end of the conversation that you need to have with a six-year-old.
You don't need to say that it's wrong or sinful. You just need to say "he's wearing makeup because he likes to wear makeup"
MowgliNHazel if your son wants to wear makeup the worst thing you can do is tell him it's sinful and wrong, it's telling him that he can't be who he is and that there's something wrong with him
That mom's probably just angry that James wore make-up better then she could ever. lol
*Enter Name Here* I see you everywhere, hello!
Panic!AtTheChannel Brendon Urie YASSSS
u right
*Enter Name Here* Honestly though, when I saw the commercial came on, while my mom and her friend were being disgusted and over all man, I was like... Damn I wish I could do my makeup like that..
Panic!AtTheChannel Woah, so do I have a fan Now? lol. BTW, I LOVE P!ATD also :)
what i can't understand is why she can't just say "some boys like to wear makeup"
it's as simple as that. my 9 year old sister saw the same ad and that's what i told her. also, a boy wearing makeup is not a sin??? i'm not sure where she got that idea
There's your homeschool lesson for the day ;)
i hate when people think that makeup has a gender. like, since when did it actually have a gender?¿
Mel Bc these type of people use religion to defend anything that isn't within societal norms
then youre not paying attention enough to what people say or do
+zoeeffie 😂😂😂😂😂 yasssss in the book of shangela tell her to check that bible again

This liberal homeschool mom thinks James Charles is the bomb!
steppedonalego77
But isn’t he racist tho???
Ellie Jones
How is he racist?
Harry Potter
When he was thirteen he made racist jokes about Africa and Ebola..
Ellie Jones
Wouldn't he have only been thirteen back then? I'm not excusing the behaviour, but if it was done four years ago and was only a vocal comment, it's hard to label him as racist four years later.
yes yes i stan a positive open minded mom. you go girl!
the only ill feeling i have towards this dude is straight jealousy, he has such beautiful features love that kid. And he needs to teach me the art of not covering your freckles but still having foundation on cuz that shit is on point with him.
Yeah but they don't like the tattoo kind. But it's not like messy enough to be splattered on there.
No, he uses an eyebrow pencil and just dots them on his face. :)
If the homeschool mom can't explain boys wearing make-up, then how is she gonna teach him about sex or menstration ?? Oh, wait she is a conservative ...
no she is required by state to teach him that and education figures come in and test them
Adrienne No, most states don't mandate sex ed. It's a huge, terrible problem, but it's how it happens.
thats horrible. and its very needed. and people wonder why teens get pregnant and get STD and STI's
I mean maybe part of the reason was but this just what personally think.
just a side comment, but, how does him being the new cover girl model support the lgbt+ community specifically? why can't it just be supporting gender equality, and breaking assigned gender roles? like, men can wear makeup if they choose to. i don't think that has to do with the lgbt+ community, nor the trans community specifically? i just had a hard time understanding that part?
you don't have to be a gay dude to wear makeup??
nerdylime that's what I though when I saw the commercial
nerdylime SUPER LATE, but James is gay that's why. They couldve gotten a straight male who wear makeup, but James is male and gay so lgbt+ and gender equality
Gianna Sersi like I said, james is gay, thats why is supports the lgbt+ community
+Gianna Sersi he is gay he even said in a video he is gay
He's not trans.
Any man in a major movie or tv program is wearing makeup.
Nah james is gay
I'm homeschooled and my mom explained trans and gay people when I was pretty young...
(She's supportive fyi)
Then she isn't a homeschool conservative lol.
Snowy Ermine my mom told be when I was seven when I saw a gay couple in a movie, she said that it was okay now, 4 years late and I'm a full supporter of the LGBTQ community
you have cool moms like regina :)
Snowy Ermine ur mom is cool af
E. D. Yeah, I want to come out to her as being bi soon
There is nothing sinful about wearing makeup
It's just makeup tho...
Danny's Domain exactly. !!!
It's literally pigment that someone's putting on their skin. It's the same with clothing, it's a piece of fabric, wear what you want.
I also don’t expect a response considering the comment is really old, but still
Lily Curtin-Adelman I love your profile picture! 😊❤️
That's character development right there 👌👌👌👍
I used to say that "it's a girl" whenever my sister would see a boy wearing makeup, I just didn't know what to say back then (and no I'm not a hater of the LGBTQ + community I'm actually queer myself) now I tell her that "some boys like to wear makeup" and that's was months ago, then earlier today I asked her "do you think makeup is only for girls?" She replied to me saying " boys and girls are the same it doesn't matter if a boy likes to wear makeup and dresses" the moment she said those words made me feel so happy she's only seven years old I'm so happy that she can be so opened minded kids her age are really big on gender roles so I'm glad she doesn't care about that, anyway I hope this little story makes you happy and makes your day just a little bit better ( :
The only thing I have against this ad is his eyebrows. They look like huge caterpillars.
iris olivas LMAO
Huge, *beautiful* caterpillars
Cermets War Flashbacks whatever you say
I thought the same thing. Didn't even notice the makeup -- those huge, weirdly shaped eyebrows distracted from it.
iris olivas legit complaint
This video is so honest, and I agree. Let guys wear makeup if they want, it's not hurting you or anything like that. People are allowed to make their own choices.
Btw this woman sounds JUST LIKE MY STEPMOM

I love James Charles and I love how he was cover girls first cover boy
That moment when every man you see on television is most likely wearing make up
Beth Boggs right
jacquebrown 11 yeah but its not like "girly" makeup.
icon for hire x flyleaf That's not the point, it's about the fact that makeup has 0 gender.
there is nothing wrong with having a male cover girl model.
Natalie Gifford yes it is wrong
Branson Zanayed Why is it wrong? Its just smearing powder and creams on someones face. Why cant guys do that too?
Branson Zanayed How is it wrong?
Well, for one it has in Cover Girl's name
"Cover Girl" is a brand name, not a prescriptive law.
Newsflash: you can use Johnson & Johnson shampoo EVEN IF YOUR NAME ISN'T JOHNSON.
"Why is that boy wearing make-up"
"Why do you wear (favourite colour)"
"Because I like it"
"Same with the boy"
