    I’m thinking of picking this one up for myself. You think it’s still a good option from Kbdfans even though it’s been out for a while? And should I get aluminum, CF, or plastic plate for it? Would really appreciate some tips…😊

      i think for a 75% keyboard with a louder and more alive sound it's a pretty solid option in the mid range keyboard space. If you're going to get one the alu plate is going to have the brightest sound and be pretty loud which is what id recommend. The CF plate will be loud but stiffer than alu and doesn't sound as bright or alive as alu imo. If you go with a plastic plate I'd suggest the PC plate as it's a pretty well rounded sound signature and pairs really well with mx blacks. PC also can sound deeper if used with foams but can still have the clacky sound if you use the right switches. PC also will be softer in feel. The only other real competitor coming the the 75% range is the Neo75 which was announced recently on their socials which is gonna be priced pretty low like the other Neo boards. I would still get the Taco over it as my experience with the Neo80 has been alright. Sounds good but the overall quality of the board just isn't as good as something like the Taco that just feels more robust and thought out and also heavier (by a lot).

      @@WispyBoards yeah, I spent the summer researching over which board suited me and I eventually fell in love with the Taco's design so i gunned for it. I decided on using the WS Morandi switches since they was recommended to me so far I love the sound and feel of them.

      @@Ericamaya-i3e If you like tactile the Gazzew Boba U4T with the black housing gold stem are really nice. also Gateron Quinn switches are on another level.

    I really wish that I had this board lol Just sad that they eliminated the "Taco" badge on the back. That gave the board character. I'm not so big a fan of not having anything on the weight; just makes it look like a hunk of brass.

      yeah that was the whole reason i didnt go for it back in september but after using it i really want it because of how nice it sounds and looks lol

    Been maining my Taco for like a month now, it's really, really awesome. I went CF plate, foams, top mount, tape mod and Blank Ink V2s. Very nice creamy/pop, full sound. Also, heavy as SHIT, even with top mount typing feels amazing, I think all that weight absorbs the impact super well even though there's minimal flex. Also, the side profile on this board is so cool looking, I would consider getting another if I didn't already have 2 75% boards and the Rainy75 to look forward to

      This is a really nice board and it’s probably one of my favorite 75s I still haven’t gotten a personal unit yet mainly because I’ve recently been addicted to tkls which have way more offerings bc of how popular the layout is. I recommend this board to others because I think 75 is a very safe layout to go with but after outgrowing the need for certain size boards I just get tkls now. Recently I’ve picked up a Frog TKL 8K (which I need to make a video on) and it’s around the same price with much more refined details. If you want a great board to get id for sure recommend the Frog TKL or the 8K version

    Hey, saw your old channel. Could you finally make a vid about the specs of the $50 custom keyboard?

    • @WispyBoards
      @WispyBoards  5 месяцев назад

      well i dont think that the case is really avalible anymore and i dont make budget stuff anymore like ever but the specs were a yc66 off amazon i got on sale for dirt cheap, gateron milky blacks from kfa, and some random crappy keycaps i had from an old gaming board that you could probably buy for $5. It's nothing special and i don't plan on making stuff about cheap boards which i why i left that channel behind. I mainly use higher end boards that i really need to start making videos on again like the F1-8X, Cloudline, and Derivative.

    How did you get the board for free for review? KBDfans hooked you up?

      This is a commissioned build! A friend of mine bought the board and I built it for him so I decided to make a review on it.

    i haven't tried the taco, but the sonnet I have is so good, and also I have seen people mention that bowl mount isn't that good and produces a muted sound without foam.

    • @WispyBoards
      @WispyBoards  Год назад

      from my experiences with the sonnet it was very nice to use and i enjoyed it a lot. my main drawback from the sonnet is that for the base config it's offering less brass which makes it weigh less and a lot of the color options feel just boring and not very vibrant unlike the taco. However i do think the sonnet has better case geometry, better mounting points, and better sound. Both are great boards at the end of the day tho!

    not a keyboard expert here, how do I know if I’m using top mount or bowl gasket mount when I am assembling the keyboard when i use the kit since it supports both?

    • @WispyBoards
      @WispyBoards  Год назад

      Top mount means you use the screws to screw the plate into the top part of the case and bowl mount is when you put the silicone bowls on the bottom case and set the plate on top of them instead of screwing the plate into the top case

      Are they using top mount or gasket mount? do you mind pointing out which step (preferrably a timestamp) in the video makes the keyboard top mount or bowl gasket mount? I have no idea what silicone bowls you are referring to look like, do you mean the red rubber feet thingy that they put the assembled PCB / Plate on?

    • @WispyBoards
      @WispyBoards  Год назад

      @@thewindrises yes those red silicone things the plate/pcb assembly goes on are bowls so that person is doing bowl mount. If they screw the plate/pcb assembly into the top case through the same holes instead of using the bowls then it’s top mount.
