Just watched this video the second time. My son forwarded it to me. I would like to see an alcohol wash, to know mite count. Last year by early we had really pushed mites to near zero everywhere. Like to know what others experience. We are in Baton Rouge, La. Weather conditions are similar, right now. We treat every 4 days for 20 days. Thanks again.
What is the difference in super DFM and pro DFM ??. I have a company here close to me they sale the pro DFM I have never heard of it before. Good luck on your bees . Thanks
I believe super dfm was first and then Mann Lake formulated pro dfm. The probiotic density per treatment is supposed to be many times greater compared to pro dfm
@@kathyhathaway8823 that is what SuperDFM indirectly promotes. This link on their page might help www.strongmicrobials.com/honey-bee-pesticide-protection Great Question :)
@@Hive5Bees I kind of went off of Randy Oliver’s research (Scientific Beekeeping) as well as my own anecdotal evidence… haven’t used that specific product but I’ve used other DFM products.
I don't like you any more Kevin😮💨look at all that 🌤wonderful🌄shine⛅ and it's not even the🌦kind.😂 Well at least I get to look at your bees, Have a great week Kevin.
Also, drove past your bees today. Nice group of hives you’ve got! Always nice to see your girls flying when you’re in my neck of the woods!
Heeey man healthy bees. How often you treat for mites you treat all year round also what product you use? Keep those videos full of info coming
We throw everything at them for mites … I’d say we’re around 5 -6 times a year
@@Hive5Beesthank you for taking time to answer. What is your treatment schedule year round?
@@Hive5Beesalso when is/are the last varroa treatment you do by end of year?
@@juliefunchannel7678 Yes - our last one was fogging oxalic acid the end of December when they're broodless (mostly)
When does the almond bloom begin??
Weather dependent but in the Tracy area from beginning of February to mid Feb

@@Hive5Bees Thank you !!!!. So the super is better or stronger than the pro correct.

Looks like your bees have missed all the freezing weather forecasted up here this week. Drizzling all day in the Tacoma area.
Man… just my .02 I’ve never seen an improvement using dfm. I think the key is mites and supplemental feeding more than the probiotics.
Definitely crucial to watch the mites and nutrition above everything else. I really need to do a more ‘scientific comparison’ one of these days

Looks great, have you tried testing with and with out?
Wondering how the queen cells you dropped in the summer turned out?
Very happy with the cells and the genetics. We’re doing it again in March
Thanks,love your videos 👍
Not fair it’s cold and snowing in South Dakota
Super DFM works way better with a mesh strainer just saying 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for the share 👍🏼🐝
Good to know!
