The murder of transgender teenager Brianna Ghey in February 2023 was described by a judge as "exceptionally brutal" and "sadistic in nature".
Her killers Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe were just 15-years-old at the time and are now serving life sentences for their wicked crimes.
In our short documentary, Manchester Evening News' court reporter Andrew Bardsley gives his insight into one of the most harrowing cases in recent UK history as we break down the full story, from the obsessive murder plot and foiled attempts, to the frenzied attack and subsequent investigation.

Well it didn't really shock the nation did it, most people will of read or watched something about it and then in the same second moved on without giving it a second thought. Sounds harsh but it's the reality of it.
You don't get many premeditated murders committed by two kids like this (and there has been a lot of coverage and memorials )
The reality is, superchickensoup, that there are quite high incidents of murder in the UK. Almost every weekend, someone gets stabbed to death, so people do read about it, but move on because there is nothing else that anyone can do.

Not really the time or place for people to express their political views about another individuals personal life, their choices, conflicts and challenges however you understand those things to be. It's a a time for respect and mourning and a time to challenge acts of violence and violent cultural behaviour.
Theres two people who wanted to be like famous serial killers who murdered someone and it could of ended with any of the names on their list. This is the thing to get upset about, this is the disturbing and problematic issue most prevalent to these events, do not be clouded on that fact.
Thing is no one brought politics into it until people started crying "trans hate" which has been proven in court not to be the case, jenkinson would have deleted someone trans or not & the evidence is there. Oh, shut the hell up. You have no idea what mitigating circumstances there were that led to a slightly shorter sentence. If a defendant gives information that helps to bring charges against their codefendant, they can be given a shorter sentence. This is done to encourage people to -snitch- be honest. Showing remorse and apologizing to surviving victims is also grounds for a reduced sentence. You have no idea of what the details were, instead you choose to get mad about discrimination against men that doesn’t exist. 🙄
