This is actually really smart. Whenever I try to remake something I just can't emulate the sounds they use and stuff like that. It teaches me a lot about how other producers do stuff tho.

Great video. It’s a first inversion g chord (what you were calling first inversion is root position and what you were calling third inversion is second inversion, there are only two inversions of the root chord)

No but I should make one. There is so much more technology now to make thigns much easier. The best place to start is a laptop and some software like fl studio. the software is free and you can go from there.
I'm not a musician, so I have no idea how what you're doing works, but holy hell hearing all this come together is so satisfying.

Did yall know EM wrote this before the beat had been made? I seen something where Dre said it's one of the only times where the song was written before he had come up with a beat. And obviously EM wrote the majority of the song including Dres parts but anyone who follows Dre knows he is more bout the beats than lyrics lol

From the theory side, a 3 note chord has a root position, 1st, and 2nd inversions. Playing a G minor chord as you were, the notes (G - Bb - D) are the root position. (Bb - D - G) is the 1st inversion, and (D - G - Bb) is the 2nd inversion.
What software do you use and where do you get samples? I have FL Studio, but I feel like the good plug ins and samples can nickle and dime one to death.
Long time ago I had FL studio and had an extensive librarie of VSTs And other plig ins. Nexus included (4GB big) I don't even do beats at all anymore but there's something about the whole tutorial process that I find it soothing.
