Don’t really understand the criticism of the engine power. The 2.5 is available right down to the base model, makes way more power than the totally anemic 2.0 in the poverty pack sportage/Tucson and uses less fuel. Yes, I know the kia / Hyundai diesel is the engine to go for, but it’s more expensive and does not return sufficient fuel economy in city driving to make up for the higher fuel price per litre. Also runs a diesel particulate filter, which is definitely not best friends with city driving. I think the Nissan is the better choice when comparing base models
Interesting how on the lower grades, only the 5+2 seat versions are AWD. In fact, I’d argue the ST-L 5+2 is best value option in this class of faux 7-seaters at $50k drive away.
Journalists talk about the CVT “fake gears” a lot. It’s important to note that they are not gears but “ratios”. CVTs create different ratios which are absolutely not fake but real. No point talking about gears when a CVT has none.
Great review. I'll look at you Kia Sportage review before I decide which one I prefer. Going on you enthusiasm for the Kia, I'm pretty sure that my favoutite will be the Sportage.
Thinking about swapping to this because I’ve been waiting on my rav4 for over a year and it hasn’t even been put into production, where as with Nissan, I can go to a dealership and just buy one without huge markups
I’ve been waiting on an outback for 6 months. I ordered an Ineos over 12 months ago. Who would have thought we’d live in a world where you had to order cars years in advance
G'Day, As you have tested both and taking price and warranty out of the equation, on overall pure performance and luxury if you had to decide between the non electric top of the line Nissan X-Trail and the non electric top of the line Mitsubishi Outlander which would you choose and why? I currently have to make this decision and can't quite make up my mind. Thanks heaps in advance...
In the uk its worth the price in the higher trim levels, but in the lower trim levels you get nothing. The base trim gets no dat nav at all, which is nuts for a £35,000 plus car. Mid trim is ok but its the top 2 trims where, although high, at least the trim attempts to justify the price.

Took the X-Trail Ti-L e-power for a test drive, was so impressed I have ordered one.
We’ve just ordered the ti
Been looking forward to this, if you review the x trail again could you review the higher grade Ti-L for me please 🙏🏻 thinking of getting one !
Great video lads as usual. Thank you!
Nissan X-Trail “not as bad as you think”
Nissan should totally use that 👍🏻

Definitely review the E-power version.
Great review. Could you please review e-power version also?
E power review please 🙏
really enjoying your reviews and the current format, keep it up !
zzzzzzzzz

@@australianmade2659 It’s beyond a joke at this point
Yes can we get a review of the seven seat option please? 😊

Thanks for the review. How does it compare to the outlander?
Same platform but I believe the x trail is more premium than the outlander
I want you to review the hybrid flagship tbh!
15000km service interval and I would seriously consider it. 10,000 is so 20th century
Better to get the Outlander IMO
your pants pretty much deterred us from liking this vid. but loved the honesty
NZDM ST-L starts at $54k and goes upto $63k for the e-power. Nice but not for me.
The elephant in the room Nissan's CVT made famous for catastrophic failure conveniently post warranty
Are you talking from personal experience?
I think it's ugly honestly, it'll take me a little bit to get used to it. I like how we have the three cylinder and wish it was the hybrid
Had one as a rental car. The steering is the biggest let down. Its so numb, lifeless and way, way too light.
The new Xtrail looks like a sleeping Juke. The rest of the body is great though.
'fist me' is bang out of order
D-mode ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It looks like a Mitsubishi
Same car under the skin mate. The outlander has the Nissan engine and CVT
Nissan/Mitsubishi/Renault are practically the same now
👍 a good soccer mum car but I know the kids would rather be picked up from school in a Mustang even if their knees around their ears.
I actually wish that were true but the younger generation are more interested in the infotainment technology these days
