Tho Ginwoos tricks have there own difficulty, he's using the ramp to start his jump taking the difficulty down just a little. The other guys are going from the flat which has a little bit of a gap and have higher risk.
So you’re telling me Braden Hoban’s gap to 50-50 is a 90 but ginwoo’s double flip front board only gets an 88 and his frontside blunt slide kick flip fakie only gets 89. I don’t understand these judges
i think he's getting penalized for his weird style, and the fact that he has to get on rails really late since he can't pop that high. I think in SLS ginwoo would get higher scores. In this contest the judges seem to use style a lot for points. In SLS it barely matters if it's sketchy or looks weird, it's basically just the trick. i'm sure in 2-3 years ginwoo will be very hard to beat
Seems like it’s because he does all the same tricks even tho they are tricks nobody does or can even really do. Same with the Richard turrey dude, he rips but since he just heel flips everything and does the same tricks they dock him points
maybe because they didnt like the lack of variation from him. he did no heelflips he did no switch tricks only one single nollie trick. Also only skates Rail and not the ledges. Other than that i was also a little bummed he wasnt scored higher, but i guess that's where the scoring may come from.
Probably because he has no pop or style and some of his tricks are distasteful like fs double flip and double flip fs boardslide. The kid is unbelievably talented but his skating is not aesthetically pleasing.
Looks like Ginwoo got robbed a few times on his scores. Seems they dock him a bit for his size and age. Maybe style but that’s very subjective. He had some of the top technical tricks and was crazy consistent. But Sora definitely deserved to win. The US and Brazil arent able to keep up with Japan.

His second run and I don’t know what more someone could have done and he didn’t get 90. Maybe they want more switch tricks? Or more pop? They shouldn’t dock him cuz he’s little. He’s amazing.
Dude's such a great skater. His run is so packed. I just don't understand why judges never seem to take the amount of tricks into consideration too. Some skaters do 5 tricks, others 10. Ginwoo chains them together at such a high pace.
The judges are damaging women’s skateboarding. They dock far too many points for super tech tricks on lower obstacles. In what world is Yumekas crook nollie flip in semis only a 72??!? Meanwhile they’re giving mid 80s for simple grinds any of the girls could do just because it’s on the big obstacle. They’re pushing women’s skateboarding back, we just saw women start to do flips out like that in contests, now soon they won’t bother if just a plain kickflip or heel flip down a set gets almost 90. Abysmal judging, past in Rome etc they rightfully awarded flip out of crooks 88+-90. I really hope the judges improve otherwise olympics will just be simple grinds on the big tail and one or two flips or heels down stairs.
i agree with you. I really dislike that too. Stair Jumping completely disappeared from competition because they scored it lower then rail and hubba tricks. It's a shame really.
