I and my family stayed at the Talley Ho Inn and were going to eat there but was closed. 😢 This was about 2 years ago. We have stayed at the hotel since I was a little girl and always ate at the Carriage House before traveling up the mountains to Pigeon Forge for shopping and eating lunch.
Try River Stone Restaurant. Local good food and prices aren’t bad. It’s toward Smokey Mountain Parks on the left after ice cream stand. Have a good burger and honey mustard salad dressing.
Your opinion about the Carriage House is about the same as my wife and I and the place seemed dirty. When I go to Townsend I just go to the IGA and get food. I think there the best in town.

She has that East Tennessee slang that I love when my wife and I would go to Johnson City, Jonesboro and Greeneville visiting my wife’s kin people I always enjoyed listening to the local people talk.

Here's the problem there is so much business that quality is not the number 1 goal too bad ! Hot food at your table is a must ! Also the money spent you should get what you expect!

We visited Townsend in Dec last year, a lot of the restaurants were closed for the winter. We decided to leave our AirB&B a day early and booked a room at the Apple Valley Comfort Inn. Our first stay there and we were very pleased. Enjoy your videos and I hit the subscribe button.

Townsend Tennessee !! My favorite place in the world! Where we lodge while exploring the Smokies for the past 28 years!! If you had breakfast across the road you would of been more satisfied...in front of the Riverstone Lodge their restaurant. BurgerMaster is the place to get your lunch!! Great burgers! There is also a great Italian rest. in the small strip mall behind the Little River Outfitters. The train museum is small but does have a wealth of info. Thanks for sharing I havent been able to make it the past year due to health issues and I needed to see it.

I saw on the pamphlet as you left the restaurant. Cotton Candy Wine.....Oooooo. I would love to try that. Carriage House needs to be off my list if they served food cold.
My wife & I drove through Townsend about a month ago - we didn't have a chance to stop and check it out. When we move to Knoxville (hopefully before June) Townsend will definitely be on our list to visit. It also looks like it may be a fun place to do some fishing :0)
Please visit Crockett’s Breakfast Camp in Gatlinburg. Best breakfast in the Smokies! Their pancakes ( a signature mix from Aretha Frankenstein’s Breakfast Restaurant in Chattanooga), the best in all the land!
I can't some food cold like sausage and biscuit, It looked good though. Appalachian Bear Rescue is in Townsend, there education center is closed because of the pandemic. When opens back up it's really nice, I think you would it.

Your breakfast looked really good! Sorry it was not hot when it came out. When I saw the biscuit, I thought it looked too done for me. That's why I never order them in restaurants. They are always too overdone. I appreciate the honest review though! The tour of the town looked like they have some interesting places to see! I would love to go into the Jeep Outpost! Cold pancakes is bad, as for the potatoes, well potatoes hold heat longer, it was your servers fault for letting your order sit in “the window” too long after it was made. Such a shame.
Honeysuckle campground has a nice one bedroom with jacuzzi for $89 a night. Last year prices anyways. Also, swimming pool and food at the pool is pretty good. Hope that helps.
There was a show about Townsend, based on a true story, I believe it was called Christy, she was from Asheville, and went to teach school in the mountains, I loved the show, it was a wholesome family show
Truth is there's no good eating in townhouse at any of the restaurants thats just telling the truth.. Even master burgers it's nothing special,, a regular old cheese burger every place is expensive never fresh .. Diffently no good old home cookin In Townsend...

Dancing Bear Bistro is awesome in Townsend. Be sure to make reservations. It’s very beautiful with huge fireplace. They have weddings there.
