- Lying in the extreme north-western part of Sardinia, Stintino juts out towards Asinara, almost touching it. Right there, where it touches it, it shows its masterpiece, La Pelosa: clear and very low seabed for tens of meters, white sand and impalpable, dazzling and placid sea with all shades of blue. Next to the "big sister", there is the Pelosetta, closed by a small island dominated by an Aragonese tower (from 1578), symbol of the Pelosa. From a ‘terrace’ on the ‘tropical’ beach, at two hundred meters of height, you will enjoy a unique view of the Piana island and the Asinara national park, uncontaminated and wild: Stintino is the nearest embarkation point to visit it.
The Stintinese territory is a strip of land between two seas. To the west the evocative 'outside sea', with a high and jagged coastline alternating with sandy and pebble coves: from Capo Falcone, a wild place also guarded by a Spanish tower (the highest in the Nurra) and flown by peregrine falcons of the queen, up to Cala del Vapore, through Valle della Luna and Coscia di donna. To the east the 'mare di dentro', inside the gulf: low and sheltered coast that from the Pelosa, passing through L'Ancora and the rocks of Punta Negra, reaches the white and round pebbles of the long coast of Le Saline and Ezzi Mannu. In the middle a natural oasis with ponds (Cesaraccio and Pilo), where live red heron, little egret and kingfisher.
In the beginning Stintino was a fishing village, very similar to Cala d'Oliva on the Asinara, a village of origin of the 45 Ligurian families, who founded it in 1885, when the Kingdom of Italy settled on the island of Lazzaretto and penal colony, evicting the inhabitants. The town, a municipality since 1988, stands in a strip of land between two inlets - isthintìni means 'intestines' - the ports 'Vecchio' and 'Nuovo', where goiters in Latin sail wood are moored, of which Stintino is 'capital' . Since 1983 it has hosted a famous regatta. The history of the town is inextricably linked to fishing and tuna processing: you will relive it in the Tonnare museum, which rises in the "Saline" tonnara, active until the Seventies of the 20th century. Once the main economic source, from 2016 it tells the stintinese modus vivendi: you will make a journey along the "chambers" (the same ones that make up the nets for tuna), accompanied by original instruments and images. After the trap, tourism is here. At the beginning of the 20th century the village was the destination of illustrious Sassari families, such as Berlinguer and Segni, during the sixties the boom: a myriad of tourist residences and hotels on the coast arose. The village, inhabited by one thousand and 600 residents in winter, is populated by tens of thousands of tourists in summer. Fishing is the basis of the culinary tradition: octopus in garlic and stintinese, lobster soup, tuna bottarga, seafood and fresh catch, to be enjoyed in the restaurants of the narrow streets of the village and the coast.

Località strabiliante, la spiaggia de "La Pelosa" è tra le cinque più belle del pianeta. Anche fuori stagione centinaia di appassionati ci vengono per il weekend, per selfie, video e foto.
Si , però ha fatto vedere più gli scogli che la spiaggia vera e propria .
