I personally LOVE all the changes. It'll feel like a whole new journey, which I need after X and Y... I just dont want the game to be too short, or too easy like x and y. The Alola region should be large and open for exploration! The Totem Pokemon seem to sort of assure me that the game's gonna have SOME difficulty. I mean if it can summon FOUR OTHER POKEMON and all FIVE of them can attack you at once, not to mention he gets to attack right after he summons a minion so you'll probably gonna get hit twice at least once every totem battle... Also I think each island is gonna have 2 trails, because honestly it just seems strange to have 3 important battles back to back like that. Not to mention it says defeat each island's "trails", not "trial". Unless it counts the totem as a Trial, but I don't think that's the case. I think the totems are just the final test for EACH trial. If it is just one trail master an island, with the totem, and then the kahuna then I feel like the game would be WAY too short and just battling the bosses back to back like that would feel odd to me. Though I guess they could squeeze in story in between with the evil team and all that but I still feel like I'd be too short. Lastly I still stand my theory that Sun and Moon will be dual region games like Gold, Silver, and their remakes. I honestly think that you'll be able to go to an updated Hoenn Region that will sort of function as a make shift Pokemon Emerald remake. I mean there are some slight nods to Hoenn in the game already (the title screen is a remix of the Hoenn title screen music, a wailmer pail is seen in your house), and both hoenn AND Alola are tropical so they may not be that far apart. I mean Oras hinted that the battle frontier would be coming soon, so maybe when you revist Hoenn in Sun and Moon it'll be there. If the Alola region also isn't as big, and the story isn't as long as I fear it won't be, this would sort of balance things out. That's all of my opinions and speculization on this, sorry It's so much.

There doesn't seem to be your typical "Eight-Gyms-Then-Elite-Four-Then-Champion" progression in this game, but rather a new kind of challenge for the trainer to meet. This feels strange, since it is the biggest deviation from the Pokémon formula in Pokémon history. But … I am SO ready for that. It has been so long since Pokémon has offered a genuinely new and fresh experience. Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness did it with their plot-heavy structures, but they were a one-time thing. Black and White did it with their deviation from the Elite Four and Champion, but that was merely a change to the end. I'm SO ready for this.
I'm okay with it if it is a majoras mask kinda thing (cause I love Majoras Mask), you know putting one "black sheep" into the franchise that is different from the other games. Though I still think they kinda went too far with the z-moves, they just look stupid and overly dramatic. I mean look at the fire type z-move, a hyper beam look like a joke compared to that and that kinda makes me sad.
At first I hated the the alola forms, then I read the Pokemon website and now I love them. It's just Pokemon adapting and evolving to their surroundings. Also, z moves requires the held item by you and the Pokemon so it's not as OP as you'd think. I also love the new meteor Pokemon thinking he is a new take on stance change that is fair yet powerful. One my favorite info drops so far.
I think it'll still be gym after gym but I think they're showing off some of the optional stuff you can jump right into on the way to break them up. Maybe they're putting an emphasis on it now because there was barely anything between gyms in X and Y, besides the first and second ones.
So, anyone else seeing the similarities between Alola and the Orange Islands? Four Islands, each with a Leader that gives you a unique challenge different from a typical Gym battle and Pokemon with different appearances than normal due to environmental adaptations.

Id rather permanent 4th evolutions than mega forms. I love mega forms themselves but wish they were permanent and not a "once per battle" kind of thing. I just chose the pokemon i wanted and 4 of them could mega evolve but I couldnt utilize it!
Coming back here just a few weeks before Let’s Go comes out, wow, these games were a rollercoaster of news and excitement. This just gets me hyped for when we get new Pokemon for the generation 8 games and we get trailers like these again!
I think it's really cool how Pokemon Sun/Moon is taking on us on a cultural experience as a trainer in Alola. Alola may not have had gym systems because that's not how trainers from there roll.

It said once per battle. So similar to gen six having one mega per battle. You get one really great move per battle and I imagine if you swap in a ground type for the electric one you'd completely nullify the move and he wouldn't be able to use another.

I think what nobody realizes is how hard it is to actually make a game "Oh the new pokemon designs are terrible, they look too goofy and the Z-Moves are too op!" First off, pokemon is directed towards children so they can't have a pokemon who murders trainers to get power, And They need SOME new feature for the pokemon games, if not then it would always be the same. I honestly think that the people butthurt about the new pokemon designs and features are too hung up on the older generations, news flash, it's a different game. All the pokemon company tries to do is please their fans with new games. We keep asking for more, and they deliver, they always do. BUT when something new is added, everyone goes ballistic. The reason being that they're too hung up on the older versions. We all know change is hard to adapt to, but that's what makes pokemon GOOD it isn't afraid to make their games different. If you can't see the beauty in that then you aren't fit to be a pokemon fan. Because that would just be stupid. I'm not saying I hate the old generations, not saying I am in love with the new ones, I'm just saying i'm a fan of pokemon. I started playing it in gen 3 and have played since then. Id rather permanent 4th evolutions than mega forms. I love mega forms themselves but wish they were permanent and not a "once per battle" kind of thing. I just chose the pokemon i wanted and 4 of them could mega evolve but I couldnt utilize it!
Coming back here just a few weeks before Let’s Go comes out, wow, these games were a rollercoaster of news and excitement. This just gets me hyped for when we get new Pokemon for the generation 8 games and we get trailers like these again!

It said once per battle. So similar to gen six having one mega per battle. You get one really great move per battle and I imagine if you swap in a ground type for the electric one you'd completely nullify the move and he wouldn't be able to use another.

I think what nobody realizes is how hard it is to actually make a game "Oh the new pokemon designs are terrible, they look too goofy and the Z-Moves are too op!" First off, pokemon is directed towards children so they can't have a pokemon who murders trainers to get power, And They need SOME new feature for the pokemon games, if not then it would always be the same. I honestly think that the people butthurt about the new pokemon designs and features are too hung up on the older generations, news flash, it's a different game. All the pokemon company tries to do is please their fans with new games. We keep asking for more, and they deliver, they always do. BUT when something new is added, everyone goes ballistic. The reason being that they're too hung up on the older versions. We all know change is hard to adapt to, but that's what makes pokemon GOOD it isn't afraid to make their games different. If you can't see the beauty in that then you aren't fit to be a pokemon fan. Because that would just be stupid. I'm not saying I hate the old generations, not saying I am in love with the new ones, I'm just saying i'm a fan of pokemon. I started playing it in gen 3 and have played since then. So I think I dragged this rant on long enough. Good day.
