I love Amtrak! 🚅 In 2013 my son and I moved to Texas. We rode Amtrak from 30th St. Station in Philadelphia to New Orleans,Louisiana. Spent the night in New Orleans and boarded the next Amtrak into Beaumont,Tx. It was a fun trip! The food was good and the crew was friendly!
All of the great railroads (Union Pacific, Santa Fe, etc.) had passenger rail service across the country. In the 1950's, air travel took passengers away from the railroads. Also, the railroads were going into a transition (long story). In any case, by 1969, the only passenger rail service making money was the "El Paso Friar" (El Paso to Denver), so, Amtrak was created, which took passenger rail away from the railroads. In some places (Connecticut to New York city, etc.), commuter rail never went away, but in the early 2000's, a number of regional passenger rail services began popping up. One example is the New Mexico Roadrunner with service from Belen New Mexico to Santa Fe New Mexico.
I am so greatful you do these Jacob. It's been awesome to travel with through RUclips. But yes, pleaseeeee take some down time. You worried me out there. Be safe Jacob.
For many years my grandfather was a accountant for The Reading Railway and he retired he received a spike! We still have it!! We took a train Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Washington DC by train yes they do have that food! It was a amazing experience and a great experience! Dr Pol has a wind turbine!
I have traveled from Los Angeles to Washington, and fron LA to Louisiana. Highly recommend traveling by train. It's fun and you get to see the country side. Choo choo! 🚂
When my nephew was a little guy his grandfather took him to a car wash and told him when he was 1/2 through it was a giant octopus going to eat him. Now he is 40 years old and washes his car in his driveway. I love museums, this one was especially great because I loved the views from the conductors seat among other things. Great video, as usual.
Oswego, Illinois has one of the craziest, most high tech modern car washes that I've ever seen. It's CRAZY! Makes you wish you lived closer to have a monthly membership!
What a fun video. I always learn something from you Jacob. Stay safe on the road & enjoy your R & R at your moms. Well all be here waiting on the journey back home. ✌️❤️🙂
I was 10 days old when I had my 1st train ride. I was in a old bassinet and the train conductor grabbed it from my mom and he carried me aboard. The railroad does have a Lure to it.
This adventure had everything my son loves, lol. He's always been fascinated by car washes, and loves a good themed hamburger. He's appreciated trains since he's been little, and has recently really gotten into cryptids....but the marionettes, well, those would have probably scared the hell outta him!
Hola from Baja. When last in Rochester, they had a chain of car washes called Luv...and the Luv Club was $25 a month unlimited washes...it had neon hearts. Safe driving, and watch those storms driving the northern route. I cant tolerate the car drives anymore with fractured spine. San Felipe is on the beach
I liked driving thru car washes when my daughter was 5 and used to be afraid of the noise, etc that accompanied the procedure. I wanted to get her accustomed to the process. Now that she is 25 she has no problem about them. Thanks for showcasing this one Jacob!
You were spot on about traveling by car. Go where you want, when you want and stop when you want. I've been studying cryptids for most of my life and I've never even heard of the Van Meter Visitor. Going to have to buckle down on my research. The King Kong burger looked amazing. Glad to hear that you're going to take a rest. You certainly deserve it and we'll be here when you get back.
Not a long road trip by train but you would like to see a few of the smaller restored railways with trips under 50 miles. Old coal and wood fired trains draw subscribers I bet and there are quite a few of them now. Interesting video today as I always find. Continue to have a safe trip to Rochester.
Showing modern train travel would be great. That burger was massive. I didn't know that some carwashes added entertainment. The dancing marionettes must be from the distant past. Thank you for another adventure.
The marionette display that dances for a quarter was super cool too n looked very old as well!!! You always find great n unusual displays and items on the road, n that is why I love your videos!! Triple Attaboy for you today Carpetbagger!!!
The meat is what we call in Europe ...A Lamb Donner Kebab Meat... You're supposed to have it in a pitta, small salad mixed with the meat with lots of Turkish red hot chilli sauce all mixed up in the pitta and eat with hands.
You are on a role right now Jacob. A monster marathon of museums love it......INPUT INPUT.. learn more than one new thing a day. Hope you are all good best wishes my friend. Marie XXX
I've never had any conceivable reason to visit Omaha, Nebraska, but I AM a huge King Kong fan... Also, that is a fantastic railway museum! I love classic railways. The pace, the elegance, the comfort, the classic hotels and excursions. Problem is, they don't make 'em like that anymore. We drove Route 66 on our trip to Northern Arizona in 2019, but it was based more around staying in railway hotels like La Posada, visiting the railway museum in Kingman, and taking the Grand Canyon Railway to the park.
I really enjoyed the train museum and the drummer marionette made me think of Speedy Alka Seltzer. He’s different but similar. You find some of the coolest places. Thanks Jacob. Stay safe out there.
Train adventures are fun for sure. Living in the Midwest, I've taken an Amtrak both to the east coast and west coast. If you choose to go and you choose to take a room with a bunk bed, don't choose the room with a toilet built in the room... An advantage for a bunk room, is that your meals are included. A disadvantage of a train trip is that you don't have the freedom to explore at the stops
Hi Jacob, I sure enjoy watching your travels. May I suggest next time your in Omaha which I lived in several years ( now live in. Bakersfield Ca. ) there is a children’s museum which is really interesting and a train museum. Plus downtown there is some fascinating statues showing the wagon train struggles. Should check them out. Love your postcards keep them on my wall, daughter says it’s like my long distance boyfriend sending my postcards with me hanging me them like that lol.
Omaha Nebraska. Wow !😮 Going through the car wash. That brings back memories from when I was a kid. Those things used to scare me as a kid. But now , I don't really mind it.😊😊😊 This one's a bit different but fun. Zootopia characters. And the flipping clown . How cool is this?😊 I love watching these episodes. That's a cool carwash. Could you do more of those? That's great.😊 That's one cool restaurant. And look at that king Kong burger. That's ginormous!😮 That's awesome, Jacob!😊
From a fun car wash, an amazing (and tasty looking) burger, a railway museum in an old library (as a kid, I went through a Train phase, so that part of the video brought back fond memories), a windmill themed rest area, plus the tale of a most unusual Cryptid, Jacob takes on another entertaining and informative adventure!!!
Yes I love car washes I find them very relaxing lol 😆 I once took a train trip to Salt Lake city Utah we had a private bunk room to sleep in it was very fun I was 12 and traveling with my family I loved it .
I am in Omaha, we have snow now. Wasn't our weather gorgeous yesterday? My grandfather worked for Union Pacific rr from the 1930s on. Will have to try Russell Speeder. And King Kong. And the museum. Thanks!
Aw, that Monster Club billboard. They just went out of business last week. A restaurant/club entirely themed around classic monsters. You would have loved it. There is also a monster themed barber shop here in Omaha that my brother works for. You should come back the next time you head west. We have so many other great POIs and museums to see!
Jacob, Great job on the Union Pacific Railway museum. You need to visit the Union Pacific rail yards, it's 2800 acres, and a viewing tower to see it all. Also think about stopping in Riverside Iowa, future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk, of the USS Enterprise. Good job Jacob. Jay
The 'little elf' you pointed out was more than likely drawn by one of the illustrators for Mad Magazine, possibly Bob Clarke who along with other things created the design for the label for the Cutty Sark bottle.
Love trains we have a small train museum in Willimantic, CT. It used to be a train hub if you were going to Boston, Springfield providence and such early 1900’s Since the American Thread 🧵 has relocated south much of our luttle town has closed up😿💔😿 Lived this vlog especially the lighted horn flying creatures, I do believe they exist, this was a fun trip Jacob Ty😎
There’s a car wash in San Diego, in a city called El Cajon, called Happy Cow Car Wash. it has a laser light show and music car wash. I don’t think it’s that special but fun if you find your way back down here. There’s a few happy cow car washes here but this one is specifically the El Cajon location
Loved that little dancing animatronic in the store and always find what you "discover" so interesting. Time for a shave there Jacob and rest up at your Mom's
Heads up for the Morris R-Place (called Romines locally): the family dining area has a couple more marionettes on the walls and the booth tables are glass showcases full of old vintage toys. It was my favorite place to eat growing up.
Would love to see a train adventure! Get on Amtrak!
I know there is a train ride from Chicago to SF, that would be cool
The Van Meter Visitor story is awesome n you told it extremely well!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!
The Union Pacific Railroad Museum was awesome!
All of the great railroads (Union Pacific, Santa Fe, etc.) had passenger rail service across the country. In the 1950's, air travel took passengers away from the railroads. I love car washes, 3 min of pure imagination when in one!😊
I loved the car wash when I was little . I don't own a car, so I don't get to go through anymore. But I do enjoy them.
The long lonesome railroad 🛤️
I am so greatful you do these Jacob. It's been awesome to travel with through RUclips. But yes, pleaseeeee take some down time. You worried me out there. Be safe Jacob.
For many years my grandfather was a accountant for The Reading Railway and he retired he received a spike! We still have it!! We took a train Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Washington DC by train yes they do have that food! It was a amazing experience and a great experience! Dr Pol has a wind turbine!
Those cryptid stories were fascinating
Well dang. Welcome and thanks for visiting Iowa. Again. :)
I have traveled from Los Angeles to Washington, and fron LA to Louisiana. Highly recommend traveling by train. It's fun and you get to see the country side. Choo choo! 🚂
Take the train journey on a sleeping train. You get a hotel room and a moving view of the scenery.

Yet another great vlog. Thank you for letting us tag along. East bound & down. Tell your mom Hi.❤
What a fun video. I always learn something from you Jacob. Stay safe on the road & enjoy your R & R at your moms. Well all be here waiting on the journey back home. ✌️❤️🙂
Jacob Carpetbagger thank you I learned a lot today
❤️ love the train museum!! 🚆😍
So Epic!
I can't stop myself...
It was a one eyed one horn flying purple people eater.
You still are !
Spacific Union? Lol
I gotta see that museum.
Specifically
Very cool! They taught us in school that the golden spike was stolen during the night after the celebration. Lies!!
I was 10 days old when I had my 1st train ride. I was in a old bassinet and the train conductor grabbed it from my mom and he carried me aboard. The railroad does have a Lure to it.
I'd love to see you take a train cross country!! Something I've always wanted to do.
My husband rode Amtrak from Michigan to Colorado. It was really cool
This adventure had everything my son loves, lol. He's always been fascinated by car washes, and loves a good themed hamburger. He's appreciated trains since he's been little, and has recently really gotten into cryptids....but the marionettes, well, those would have probably scared the hell outta him!
I love car washes. My maternal grandpa used to take me in them when I was little,he passed when I was 7 so they are a special memory for me. 😊
If you do ever take a train across the country, book one of the bedrooms. Sitting in a chair, no matter how comfortable, for 3+ days is no fun.
Hola from Baja. When last in Rochester, they had a chain of car washes called Luv...and the Luv Club was $25 a month unlimited washes...it had neon hearts. Love your work and your videos, I think you should do a train trip. Take care my friend.
Yes, I would LOVE to see you go on a train journey across America!
I enjoy all of the cool places you find.I loved the marionettes .I have a collection of then.

I enjoy your videos so much Jacob Thank you and Hello Jenn!
I liked driving thru car washes when my daughter was 5 and used to be afraid of the noise, etc that accompanied the procedure. I wanted to get her accustomed to the process. Now that she is 25 she has no problem about them. Thanks for showcasing this one Jacob!
I just found this video a year late. That car wash is down the street from where I grew up!
Epic!!!
Cars have ruined this country
Not a long road trip by train but you would like to see a few of the smaller restored railways with trips under 50 miles. Old coal and wood fired trains draw subscribers I bet and there are quite a few of them now. Interesting video today as I always find. Continue to have a safe trip to Rochester.

You have to love Jacob, he never misses a Photo Opp 😂😂
He is a camera hound !
7:53 I love car washes. When my kid was little, going through the car wash was just like a dark ride, we called the brushes Carwash monsters!
The meat is what we call in Europe ...A Lamb Donner Kebab Meat... You're supposed to have it in a pitta, small salad mixed with the meat with lots of Turkish red hot chilli sauce all mixed up in the pitta and eat with hands.
Leaving the car in drive had me laughing!! Love the videos!!!
Loved your story of the Van Meter Visitor. Car washes are fun, train museum was interesting.
Should have went to the Durham western heritage museum in Omaha. It's in the old union Station. The building is really neat.
I heard about that building
Love the Van Meter Visitor story!
You are on a role right now Jacob. A monster marathon of museums love it......INPUT INPUT.. learn more than one new thing a day. Hope you are all good best wishes my friend. Marie XXX

I really enjoyed the train museum and the drummer marionette made me think of Speedy Alka Seltzer. He’s different but similar. You find some of the coolest places. Thanks Jacob. Stay safe out there.
Absolutely 100% in agreement with the car wash being a light dark ride. It's intense.
Train adventures are fun for sure. Living in the Midwest, I've taken an Amtrak both to the east coast and west coast. If you choose to go and you choose to take a room with a bunk bed, don't choose the room with a toilet built in the room...

Union Pacific railroad museum? Looks like a great place to visit. I used to see these big trains whenever I was out. They're huge trains.😊😊

Going through the car wash.
That brings back memories from when I was a kid.
Those things used to scare me as a kid. But now , I don't really mind it.😊😊😊
This one's a bit different but fun. Zootopia characters.
And the flipping clown .
How cool is this?😊
I love watching these episodes. That's a cool carwash. Could you do more of those? That's great.😊

And look at that king Kong burger. That's ginormous!😮
That's awesome, Jacob!😊
Nothing is so cool as a car wash dark ride
From a fun car wash, an amazing (and tasty looking) burger, a railway museum in an old library (as a kid, I went through a Train phase, so that part of the video brought back fond memories), a windmill themed rest area, plus the tale of a most unusual Cryptid, Jacob takes on another entertaining and informative adventure!!!
Ohh boy there’s another nail in this already finely nailed coffin.
Yes I love car washes I find them very relaxing lol 😆 I once took a train trip to Salt Lake city Utah we had a private bunk room to sleep in it was very fun I was 12 and traveling with my family I loved it .
Great observation Jacob!!! Car washes are like dark rides n I love them both as well!!!
I am in Omaha, we have snow now. Wasn't our weather gorgeous yesterday? My grandfather worked for Union Pacific rr from the 1930s on. Will have to try Russell Speeder. And King Kong. And the museum. Thanks!
I went to King Kong as a kid here, the one closest to me closed. The one you went to and one near midtown are left. I think. People love them here.
Very interesting museum once again Jacob, n I believe your Eum Rule is totally valid!!!
We spent the night right near the mine in Van Meter. To this date, one of the scariest nights of our lives!
New Albany, Indiana has a Halloween car wash in October. Thanks for the video!
Jacob,
Great job on the Union Pacific Railway museum. You need to visit the Union Pacific rail yards, it's 2800 acres, and a viewing tower to see it all. Also think about stopping in Riverside Iowa, future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk, of the USS Enterprise. Good job Jacob. Jay
I heard the ticket master mention North Platte-my buddy's grandpa worked at the yard there for many years.
I like a fun filled car wash too!-Suanne Nutter
No bugs yet here in Rochester, Jacob. Its still snowing!
That was the coolest car-wash!
Thank you again for another amazing video
Love this video. Thanks Jacob !!! 👏
I love car washes. Was nervous kinda as a kid. But love them now lol
Welcome back to our wonderful city and state! Some day if you come back through we would love to treat you to a meal!
Safe travels 🙏
Thank you for sharing your adventures 😊
The 'little elf' you pointed out was more than likely drawn by one of the illustrators for Mad Magazine, possibly Bob Clarke who along with other things created the design for the label for the Cutty Sark bottle.
Are you going to the Worlds Largest Truck Stop? Some car washes have Halloween and Christmas events
Have a good trip home, Jacob ❤️
I love you videos lots of love from maine and hope your doing well

Welcome back to Omaha! I do wish you stayed a bit longer here to see the things you missed out on but there's always the next time around.
🙋🏼♀️I love a colorful car wash
Wow that burger did look big and nice museums
Trains are fun. Have taken several cross state and country trips.
Love the content keep it up brother
Loved that little dancing animatronic in the store and always find what you "discover" so interesting. Time for a shave there Jacob and rest up at your Mom's
That ticket dude was the abuse driver in Mrs. Doubtfire!!
The Amtrak is quite an experience! It would be awesome to see you take a day ride somewhere or even a multi day trip.
Yay he’s back in Nebraska
LOL "Its tasty" ;) You love using the word tasty to describe your vittles
Every good car wash is a dark ride! ^_^
I have to wash my own ...around here there are few good car washes...
Even less bikini clad girls to wash your car
That's cool Jacob has a black series Darth Vader helmet I also have one of those you can see the box in the background
That's so cool, I didn't notice it til your comment
Heads up for the Morris R-Place (called Romines locally): the family dining area has a couple more marionettes on the walls and the booth tables are glass showcases full of old vintage toys. It was my favorite place to eat growing up.
I’ll have to have to stop by and eat dinner there sometime
I think you should really consider a cross country train trip. I hope your Step-Dad is doing well.
