  • Acrylic abstract painting created with blue and green paint then shaded with black acrylic paint.
First I painted a background with blue acrylic paint and splattered isopropyl alc onto the wet paint. This assists the paint to erode and make interesting visual texture in the paint.
When the paint was dry, I drew out the lines and circles with a black Posca paint marker, ruler and a circle template.
I highlighted some of the edges of the design with yellow acrylic paint using an angled shader paintbrush. I shaded the abstract painting with black acrylic paint and an angled shader paintbrush
I painted this on a piece of 9" x 11" canvas. It can be painted on a canvas of any size. Change the colour to suit you!
This is a very easy abstract. I think it has a contemporary feel to it.

Doing that kind of painting is so relaxing! I wonder if they make a pearlescent medium that you could use on the green parts. That would look really neat.
