  • In the spring we planted for the first time ever West India Burr Gherkins. We were very excited that they were producing well early on, but we had no idea they would be this productive!
This is a definite must grow for 2021, but in the meantime we are truly enjoying them. Recipe video coming soon.
We will be ordering more from Baker Creek Heirloom seeds.

You are very correct about possible crop failure one year then next year abundance. Its' all part of The Lords' creation, it humbles us, and we lean on him more. God bless!

I know in today's society it's great to see loving couples. But,, most won't believe this.. Their that way,, because they have learned. Their business isn't everyones else's business. I hope they will keep the channel on gardening and canning. Since they didn't start off as a relationship channel. I believe they should stay clear from becoming one. This is my opinion. But, I too adore their obvious love for each other.

TY Mr. & Mrs. H! I'm glad to see this video! As happy as my garden makes me feel, I was a saddened about the small harvest this year! I had a major issue with squash vine bugs and the green bean seeds I planted turned into running vines without any flowering. They over took half of my garden. So I pulled them all up to start all over and to my surprise there are some of the largest cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelons still growing underneath! I felt like a proud momma with a newborn baby!🥒🍅🍉 Sending continued blessing to you all!

I grew the cucamelons, Mexican Sour gerkins in a pot on my deck for the grandkids. We also made some refrigerator pickles with them. Only had three or for vines and they are going strong. The kids love them. If you like eggplant Parm you have to try a good rollatine. My father in law was born and raised in Italy and he made a dish he called stuffed eggplant but here called rollatine. It's a lot of work but delicious. I freeze up portions but end up giving away trays to family members. Our eggplant is not quite ready yet but looks like we will have a bumper crop fingers crossed. If interested I will post the recipe for Grandpa Angelo's Stuffed Eggplant. Those Burr the ruins look interesting, never heard of them. Can't wait to see the recipe. They are going on my seed list for next year.

My husband had me plant butter peas last year. Me not knowing they all grow underneath close to the ground. I’ve got a bad back and it was hot so I pulled every plant up, piled them in my wagon, wheeled them around to my front porch with fans. One bush at a time I picked then piled those bushes in a burn pile. All while sitting down😃 south alabama heat puts me down

You two are so adorable. I don't say that lightly. You two are seriously adorable together. Lol
I follow someone who grows the Mexican sour ones on a cattle panel trellis and I don't think she plants anything else there. It covers the trellis beautifully, but it's definitely grown as a snack. She and her family of 7 eat off it throughout the day.
I'm not as interested in trying them, but I am very curious about what you're going to do with the burr gerkins. Looking forward to finding out. Have an awesome day! ☺️
